Glad to see the Aisin supercharger used on the bigger predators as well! If you like to do some collaboration just let me know - I do have some experience there... thanks, Tim
Keep making videos like these, turbocharging or supercharging engines, let us know the technical things we need to know before we start to boost an engine (i.e. pulley to transmission layout / ideas / things to think about before buying and starting).
@@tuckercole1531 yeah, even if it made the same power as stock, i think itd be cool. The only smaller one i can find is from S Charger, and they start at $11000 😂😵
do you know how many people I have seen trying to put a "turbo" or something that they thought of on their small engine, BEFORE the carburetor? It's crazy. I use your video to show them, HEY DUMMY, the carb goes on first, SEE!!? I will say, I seen some of theirs work, but only for a few weeks and then their carb is spitting out gas and acting weird (well, yeah!) LOL Keep up the good work and your funny buddies make the video enjoyable too. HAVE FUN!
god i love design and fabrication of parts, im new here second video ive watched, this reminds me of when i turbo charged my dirt bike a few years ago, man i needed a bigger garage so i can start more projects lol
Just spit-balling here. As that V-twin heats up, the jugs expand and will get taller. The distance between the heads end up getting wider. With the bracket on the carb side of the blower being solid mounted to both heads and so sturdy, it could put extra stress where the cylinders meet on the case. At the very least I would make sure the bolt holes were a little oversized, and I would lightly torque the bracket bolts and LockTite them, hoping that would give a little slide if necessary. Other than that - neat build.
I'd love to put one of these engines in my 2000 Argo Conquest 8x8! The Kawasaki FD620D 20hp that's in it now is great but more power is always better when running tracks.
You guys are nuts . I remember watching one or two of your old videos. Youve come a long way !! Is there a video of how you mounted that portable band saw on that stand? Thats pretty slick.
They have you pushing that new pulley pretty hard... Would be interested in seeing a comp video of top speed vs the old pulley. That said if you peddling pulleys is what it takes to get this content, it's well worth it. That buggy looks amazing.
Looks great! Wish you were closer. I'd love to see how big a hole it would stomp in my 390. I need an intake to decent size air filter tube flange for my amr intake side. I'm going to push it to 20-25 lbs and see what happens.
If you do bring back mini bike Monday then can you please try to put a big block 301 on the Colman bt200 I think it's the perfect bike to put it on because of the beefed up frame.
Glad you rotated that supercharger. Leaving a large cavity without a drain is a recipe for disaster if you end up with a stuck needle valve. Fill up half the supercharger with fuel, and that thing could grenade.
That cart is going to be SO sick with that blown v-twin on it...and that exhaust looks SO good! Correct me if I'm wrong, but that tensioner is for a ribbed belt serpentine style, wouldn't it be better to get a v-belt style pulley to mount on it?
@@noidontthinksolol and what are your better alternatives below a liter more around half a little above because if you have one that makes around 70 to 100 hp stock that wont blow up in two seconds please give me a suggestion im building a go kart like car and want massive power for small sizing
I’m all for boosting a predator engine. But the fab work and time + cost of everything, it seems like it would be much more efficient to slap a can am v twin in it… plus the can ams have a stand alone trans that would be fun to watch y’all create new set ups
Are you going to make a charge air cooler for the blower? This can help cool the intake charge and give more power, i don't know if you have seen gale banks monster truck duramax, but the intake manifold air temperature was upwards of 500 degrees fahrenheit, so just so you don't get to a point where you could burn fuel in the intake, it might be a good idea
It would be cool to get a c clutch to operate the supercharger so you could increase boost ratio with RPM. Could be challenging to maintain a usable AF ratio but could make for some very impressive numbers for power if the engine could handle it. Would be pretty awesome if it was manageable
I do garden pulling tractors and there's a couple of guys down south of me that have eight horsepower wheel horses they use a lot of Go Power Sports stuff
I just noticed that the engine is only 10cc more that the Japanese Kei class, so I bet it would work in a small car like an Austin 7. That’s assuming that you’re making more power and torque than stock, obviously.
Would a dual carb setup be possible in the future? All that extra fuel combined with the supercharger would make that engine run like a bat out of hell.
So you guys are going to hate to hear this, but you now need to open up all of the mounting holes you just did nice and snug, so that after you fabricate the intake manifold you can bolt the manifold first... That way it seals, and then do your supporting brackets. Lol If you just bolt up the flanges of the intake and then bolt everything else without allowing some slack you'll probably have an intake leak. As you tighten the bracket it will pull on the intake manifold. hindsight is 20/20 and you've already done it twice, but if you wanted to do it again you could actually just make the intake manifold/adapter mount it directly to the intake. You should not even need the rear brace. Then you just have to change the pulley size to something appropriate, and I would probably go with a serpentine belt setup since it will transfer power better and you can use a small off-the-shelf tensioner intended for a car. Plus a serpentine belt is designed to bend in both dimensions, if you put a tensioner on the back side of the v-belt you have to make sure you get a split v-belt that is intended to be bent backwards.
Can’t wait

Extremely interesting project! Looking forward to hearing it run.

Kind of amazing that they make a supercharger that small

is draw through better than blow through?
No blow through is way better but would have to build a atmospheric box around the carb or do fuel injection. The fuel injection is what is next.
