Facts…my off harvest season (November-may) that’s my usual Colorado to Houston and I’m keeping my truck parked except for the bare minimum to keep my standing and cover my insurance. Due to my experiences in this industry I learned long ago (the hard way) the less you’re leveraged the better off you are. The only thing I have loans for are my sport/hyper bikes, my toys basically and I’m more than positive equity on those. No mortgage none of that anymore. The only miles that are going to depreciate my truck are those to keep its own basic bills paid for so I’m not taking that out of my personal funds.
Well I could only imagine seeing as hell 3 years ago rates skyrocketed And this whole year we've been dealing with garbage rates. Just don't take the bad paying loads.
@@JAleksandrI have 6 more months of truck payments man I can’t wait no personal bills. I ran two weeks back to back 3200 miles only profited $2500 each week
I pull step out of Florida. The rates are insane! I'm a contact that gets 80% , so these 1.00 a mile loads can't go on my truck. I just been staying out longer and chasing the best rates I can.. it's been pretty hit and miss for me.
I haul fresh produce from washington state to california once a week... When the company I work for gives me broker loads to come home on. That is only half full... I'd say things aren't looking too good....
Wow look how far you've come! I first watched you 3 years ago or so when you first started. Now you have 70k subs and all these fancy charts! haha This channel has come quite a ways. Congratulations!
Markets like this are great for getting with the right people. Or finding out if you are with the wrong people. In 38 years driving I have never seen a market with so much swing. Some truck groups are stacking money others are stacking bills.
I'm in Laredo off of 83 coming down and they're putting up toll towers going to be charging tolls down here as well as many other places! Anything to rip off the drivers.
The more reefer loads there are, the less they'll be taken up Van/reefer freight. Know you're worth my dry van people. Stop taking cheap freight. Do your part please.
Frieght volume is high while rejections are low, so in other words, there are a few companies monopolizing the market share and not rejecting anything. That's nasty.
Freight volumes are high and rejections are low due to inflation. You guys complain about the mega carriers but fail to forget that over 95% of our industry is actually controlled by the owner operators/ small fleet carriers... We may be hurting now, but there's no way that the 5% can handle the logistics of 100% of the industry. We have more power than you realize, just squeeze every dollar you can and hang on as long as you can
Absolute crappy market for flatbed with rates below $2. Just got stucked in Sacramento Bc i refused to take a load for $900 to San Diego. Rates going to NJ are $4500 out of Sacramento. Ridiculous. It seems like there are not enough drivers leaving fast enough
Same here Salt Lake to LA on a Thursday $1.40 a mile Hazmat it was either that or sit for the weekend I had to take it. First time I’ve hauled below $1.75 and I only do that to get over $3 a mile on the next load. It’s tough one breakdown can put you out of business if you have no backup plan.
Can you do a video talking about hazmat rates and rejections and such? Or do you have access to that. I run hazmat and sometimes i get 3.23 a mile then next week I have shippers telling me 2.12 is good money. I'm not getting pulled into EVERY weigh station and driving 200 extra miles on hazmat only roads just to get paid 20c more per mile than a dry load.
Do you think the spot market and ease of entrance for new carriers/owner operators will continue to gain market share from large carriers/dedicated freight? If so is this a contributing reason to current recession and will this suppress rates long term as spot market grows? Does spot market cause higher volatility?
There's always freight out there that isn't contract based, but most volume freight is locked into a rate for 90-360 days and doesn't spill into the spot market until 1 of 2 things. 1) Spot rates are paying much higher than contract rates. 2)Lack of capacity to move contract freight. So usually the spot market grows as volatility grows, but it isn't the cause of it.
Do you know about new brokers strategies how to sell us bad delivery zones? They post many quotes on board with good priced so you check them before sending driver to that location and at the end when you trying to get any from that locations market indeed dead. It seems that economy also dead and consumers do not need so much goods because they have no money.
Love this channel. Getting into Hotshot trucking (and have been in analytics for 20 years) ....and this Ukrainian gal isn't hard to watch! Great show ;-)
I’m based out of Green Bay, WI “one of the best markers for the last few months” and I’m one of the parked trucks, for personal reasons but, now it’s been 60 days without a single move “dryvan”
Folks. Market is totally dead in the Midwest, esp here in Chicago for reefers, and we are closer to the Holidays. Nothings happening. Cold winter broke days are well ahead. Especially in January. Scary :(
I love your content you are very informative. I'm wondering if you can include alaska in your weekly updates. Just because I have been running up there with my reefer. Or I should say was in the summer but I'm finding its been saving me from this market. Basically I'm finding you can make some money in a bad market running up there. It's not for everyone and lots to know before running up there but it definitely can be done
@HotNSpicyLatina vaccines are over with their are no mandates and I guess you can take a ferry but it would definitely eat up your profits and not sure of the timing. But I would say no because they have companies that do nothing but freight on the ferry. It would cost much more for a individual because you have to ship your truck and yourself on top of the trailer. I would say you would be around 6 or 7 grand each way and if you don't have connections you will most definitely come back empty
Good question- no it would actually cost more because now, lets say I agree to a crap rate for $1.5 per mile- that load is 44K pounds (all loads are max limit nowadays), the reefer has to run, so the truck burns more fuel.
So its christmas tree season in Oregon so be busy here until first week of december. Then it falls off. Does pull some of the flatbeds out of the market but not too many. Dont count in it to stay that way.
No wonder!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable!!!!! Do you use diesel or water ? Do you actually pay for insurance ? Or you run like those mafia trucking companies ?
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful Thanks for your response. I would like to try em out, but they need a 180 days aged MC account Wil you be able to help me get one or rent one out, or work under someone's MC till I get mine ready, please.
@@yourtechgatehow about you do some math instead of getting an mc#? At least if you blew all your money on lottery tickets you might win. Not very likely, but more likely than making money at Amazon.
Alright drivers, taking volunteers for early retirement. We just need a couple "thousands" to retire, put extra strain on the market. Dont be shy step up, announce yourself. Everyone else is sick of these meager pickings.
Hello Miranda hope everything is going well. From N.Carolina Stay Blessed.
I'm sorry but in my area Houston Texas area reefers completely dead rates are horrible no leverage no volume the worst I've seen it in 3 years
Yes everywhere
Flatbed in Houston is the same these boys taking anything even $1 a mile

But we're in a shortage of drivers.
No, we're in a shortage of drivers that work for free.
And they are STILL trying to push that nonsense in the media 🥲
Any predictions on when these goofballs will go broke that’s taking super cheap loads
When their trucks break down because they can keep up maintenance at the cheap rates
I’m atheist, but lately I’ve been praying for those mfkrs to get out of this industry .😂😂😂😂😂😂

Explain what you mean by rejection. Do you mean carriers are turning down loads from shippers or carriers turning down loads from brokers ?
Very terrible rates hopefully freight ratio and rates gets better this coming year 2024.

Unfortunately I am not familiar with the details of that equipment type.
Thanks a lot. Well done.
Does a broker have a right to decline a load because a carrier doesn’t have inspection in a state that the load is coming out of?
I dont know about "right" but they use ALL sorts of excuses to decline a load to a carrier
Sexy n Smart .
Thanks for your informational videos! Determining which trailer would be best for me, can all dry loads be pulled by reefer trailers?
No but maybe 1/2 can
nice
thank you
