Judy was Jennifer Connelly’s makeup artist on the sets of Requiem For A Dream (2000). It’s so lovely to see them bond together after 20 years😭😭😭
I see. That's why Jennifer was emotional. You can see she was wiping her tears while the guy was having his speech.
She also did Jared Leto's arm
This was the moment when the momentum completely swung to Brendan Fraser winning Best Actor.
I love when he got the SAG too shocked the EP addicts lol
This category has 3 favourites:
In one where Colin Farrell looked unrecognizable and fearsome as The Penguin in The Batman.
Another is Austin Butler's hairstyle to look like Elvis and Tom Hanks with a very strange look like Colonel Parker in Elvis
And another where Brendan Fraser suits up to look like a rather fat man in The Whale.
And although both are great, except for Tom Hanks. I think The Whale deserved it, not only because of the costume or the makeup, but both this and Fraser's performance help this movie a lot and he deserves it.
Interesting Fact : This is the first time Jennifer Connelly presenting the Oscars after 20 years, the last time she presenting Oscars was in 2003, she presenting Best Supporting Actor, Chris Cooper won Oscars at that time...
They didn't deserve to be cut off.
As much as I would like to say it should’ve been Elvis, I think its pretty amazing how they made Brendan Fraser look EXTREMELY overweight so I’d say this is a much deserved win
Congratulations!!
I’m very happy for The whale for best makeup & best actor!
Also, I’m happy for Everything everywhere all at once for winning big!
Best picture and more!!
Deserved awards!😉 The Whale for me is a great movie, I’m happy for his two Oscar win🤩
I'm glad he let his performance speak vs promo push like EP film it was ridiculous and backfired
The complete transformation they do to Brendan Fraser is amazing, a huge makeup job.
Personally, I would have loved to see Batman win the Oscar for the phenomenal job they did with Colin Farrell but The Whale gets its well-deserved award.
1:46 "The team transformed Brendan Fraser into 'The Whale'" - someone didn't do their research...
Congratulations on The Whale's win, it was very well deserved! 👏🏾
This video made me so emotional: everyone's happy for one another... Jennifer crying for Judy, Brendan so emotional for the make up team! So nice!
It’s thrilling to know Brendan Fraser didn’t actually gain all that weight
So glad he did not. It would be disturbing.
@@iagoluiz8467 He only got the role because no one else wanted it, he already weighed 300+ , and he loves "playing" gay.
Deserving. Elvis Stan’s cry
That’s funny how for this video they cut the moment when one of the winners was drowned by the orchestra😂
But the win itself is great, absolutely deserved! So glad that Elvis didn’t get it
Deserved 100%
"All Digital Prosthetic Makeup"?! That implies the makeup was entirely done on Computer. Now while such technology exists, look at how they accomplished the aging effects of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, what they actually did was design the makeup on Computers, and then 3D printed them for applying onto Brendan Frazier. It's obvious that they don't know what they're talking about, given they referred to Frazier's character as, "The Whale".
Just like The Nutty Professor, making a non-overweight actor look overweight is a major accomplishment
That what I thought
Brendan has been overweight for years. That beer belly has been evident since 2009 and in everything he's been in since 2010- present.
The Whale has excellent GCI makeup.
Great makeup on Fraser but The Batman deserved. Farrell disappear in the makeup.
When The Whale won, the momentum shifted from Butler to Fraser ❤️
I’m surprised Jennifer Connelly wasn’t nominated for Top Gun Maverick this year
Should have been
Best Hair And Makeup
The Whale
Elvis
Beast
Elvis
Bardo
Winner Elvis
As Much As Great As The Whale’s Makeup And Hair But I Wish Elvis Or The Batman Should Have Won
100% The Batman deserved to win because I want The Batman to win something. Elvis is my runner-up in this category
My mom's elementary school's teacher's son Darren Aronofksy directed this movie.
Deserved
A chin for a chin.
Ladies and gentlemen Elvis left the building with Nothing not one Oscar. Embarrassing - any BAZ sightings? Oh that's right MTV awards are next 😅
Beast should have took the place of The Whale
I wish the Elvis had win.
Totally undeserved, that award was for Elvis, he had already won the Critics Choice and the BAFTA in the same category.
They gave The Whale the Oscar, so that the Academy is not accused of fatphobia and thus show everyone, that they support people with morbid obesity, being politically correct. 😂😂😂😂
Get over it.... Austin did.He realized the red flag with the SAG loss. AB was humble through out this EP Baz over push mania, he'll be back minus the twang . Oh MTV awards are next stop they are bound to get something - NOT 🤣💀
Get over yourself now. The Academy thought differently
They should have gotten up there instead of waiting because they lost time to speak
Personally, I think Black Panther: Wakanda Forever deserved to win in this category!
Pfff no
None for Beast? No fair
Hard to believe that The Elephant Man and Planet of The Apes didn't receive special Oscars, but THIS did?
Have you seen this movie?
@@ZkS94 Unfortunately. And yes, I have seen videos of the makeup process as well.
They didn't have much competition, but I don't begrudge them the award. Still, Brendan wouldn't have won his without them, which I think a lot of people dismiss in congratulating him.
The award didn’t exist back then
@@briantwiss9078 I clearly said SPECIAL Oscars. They could have given both Special Achievement Oscars as they did in 1964 and 1968.
Actually Planet of the Apes did win a special Oscar for John Chambers' brilliant work. The Elephant Man did not receive recognition from the Academy at the time. That led to the establishment of the Makeup and Hairstyling Oscar the following year, with Rick Baker winning for his Werewolf transformation effects on An American Werewolf in London. Stan Winston was also nominated that year for transforming Andy Kaufman into a robot in the seldom seen Heartbeeps.
Oooh!
The fact a fat suit won over The Batman and Elvis is embarrassing
To whom?
Especially with all of the wokeness. Why didn't Aronofsky find an obese actor like Lasse Halleström did for Gilbert Grape's mother?
The Batman and Elvis both had fat suits too. None of them should have won.
@@phoebeclark4718 So Wakanda Forever or Western Front were more deserving?
@@annafowdy Exactly. The Whale was by far the least deserving out of all the nominees--not only did it win for a fat suit, the fat suit was the ONLY major feat of makeup in the film. Elvis and The Batman shouldn't have won either, but at least they had other kinds of makeup. Wakanda Forever really should have won because of how incredibly detailed EVERY character's hair and makeup was.
The worst win of the evening. Any of the other nominees should have won. Even EEAAO that wasn't nominated, had better makeup and hairstyling.
Could be worse, it could been Elvis with that atrocious Tom Hanks make up.
