i had some really good 98 and 97% accuracy games..this doesnt mean im magnus s level ...it just means my opponent wasnt challenging enough (for context im 2300 rapid and my opponent was 2300 too in one of my 97% accuracy game..we played an opening we knew how to play..so thats why)
so if magnus s opponent is better than him then he def wouldnt be playing at 99% ..i think the players are not at magnus s level and its kinda frustrating that he lacks the competiton..
so we need some 2900 level players to push magnus xd
so if any of the top gms who plays at 99% accuracy plays 3600 rated stockfish then ya they would be lucky to get 90% or more...
what i want to say is its all relative
even stockfish gets things wrong..its not 100% right all the time...thats why it lost to alpha zero back in 2018

I mean that sure is something. Totally. It's just a bit disconcerting how so many chess fans are obsessed with computer evaluation. It doesn't really tell you that much about the game. It's still humans who play the game. Acccuracy depends so much about what kind of opening lines are chosen and whether players are going for aggressive, double-edged play or just trying to play as solid as possible and hoping the opponent missteps somewhere (but not really creating difficult positions for the opponent because that might be risky).

They would be 2800+ by the end of that year easily, I would like to know who supposedly outperformed in those years because that really isn't possible with how elo works
You also have to realize elo gets exponentially harder to obtain and maintain. Further you have to keep in mind that the close to 2900 elo you are referring to was a record attempt by Magnus to hit that 2900. To get that elo he was likely cherry picking tournaments and doing everything to maximize the number rather than going for championship wins, which is the normal peiority.

2900 is no longer possible for at least a while now that the new generation is so strong and taking points from these guys (remember Magnus loses points even for a draw). A bunch of the young guys were also way underrated due to not playing rated games for 1-2 years during the pandemic, so the overall curve has now flattened a bit.
