99% accuracy. "i dont like playing classical". man is suffering from success.
This is what people set such a high standard for magnus ....even at this point everybody saying he had fall off
i had some really good 98 and 97% accuracy games..this doesnt mean im magnus s level ...it just means my opponent wasnt challenging enough (for context im 2300 rapid and my opponent was 2300 too in one of my 97% accuracy game..we played an opening we knew how to play..so thats why)
so if magnus s opponent is better than him then he def wouldnt be playing at 99% ..i think the players are not at magnus s level and its kinda frustrating that he lacks the competiton..
so we need some 2900 level players to push magnus xd
so if any of the top gms who plays at 99% accuracy plays 3600 rated stockfish then ya they would be lucky to get 90% or more...
what i want to say is its all relative
even stockfish gets things wrong..its not 100% right all the time...thats why it lost to alpha zero back in 2018
@@pushingyourownagenda9889 i m also aware of this but playing with this much accuracy against opponent with almost 96-98% accuracy throghout the game at super gm level is crazy
Again its proved that he is above other gms level that we compare him with engines
@@afterneet4421 ya true..
No wonder magnus is bored at this point
Man, Magnus took it personally when Danny said they did not pay much attention to his game 😂
Someone good at chess - why after black rook d2 does white not just take the rook with their rook? Why take the knight?
After Black: Rxd2 Rxd2 there is N... followed by ... - a 2 move combination; you can find it! (Two moves, start with Knight, gl)
Edit: Messed it up the first time :'D
99% accuracy 😭
Prag had 99.6 against magnus yesterday
97.6* pragg
U know having 99% accuracy when ur opponent plays with 96% is crazy...brcause yesterday magnus was 88%
I mean that sure is something. Totally. It's just a bit disconcerting how so many chess fans are obsessed with computer evaluation. It doesn't really tell you that much about the game. It's still humans who play the game. Acccuracy depends so much about what kind of opening lines are chosen and whether players are going for aggressive, double-edged play or just trying to play as solid as possible and hoping the opponent missteps somewhere (but not really creating difficult positions for the opponent because that might be risky).
interesting
gotham would lose his job if magnus was no longer no. 1
Same thought we might need to send someone to check on him😂
Levy would just find a new employer 💯%
It'd be sad to see Magnus go, and it's unlikely that he'll be immediately replaced by someone as dominant and fascinating as him, but I'm personally excited for what the future holds, with all the rising stars vying for that throne
? If magnus wasn't no. 1, someone else would be
😂😂😂
nah magnus will be fired by gotham if he is no longer world no. 1
Bro had 99 accuracy against fabiano man that's wild
Interesting
So wild...99%
Fabi played at nearly 96% accuracy-just incredible
Well actually Fabiano was in 99% too, until that King blunder because of time pressure, which reduced his accuracy to 96
@@Lordzen3052 Did he exactly? That would make sense but I'm not completely sure
It's nice to see some pressure put on him. When he really wants something, that's when the monster comes out. Just the thought of being number 2 in the world was enough to bring out vintage Magnus.

Fabiano Caruana: I was not nervous
Maybe not but people respect him so much that they think if magnus played this it must be correct and ofter blunders themselves.
Fabiano is so cringe for that stuff. He needs to drop the trying to be cool and tough act.
@@samwisegamgee6941 The GOAT played with 99% accuracy..... why did Fabio have to be nervous to lose an incredibly close game? Fabio was obviously great... he's just playing the greatest ever.

He clearly dislikes classical in comparison. But the game became interesting to him as it went on.

"Sometimes it's really hard to win in chess" only sometimes? lol
An all time quote
Of course only sometimes, he wouldn't be no.1 if it was always really hard
I was already seeing some comments yesterday saying that Magnus will no longer be number 1, I guess they got an answer immediately the day after.
He will be soon, even the goat kasparov get replaced

wait, let levy milk magnus first
imagine not being dethroned as the king and winning almost all his tournaments in all time control, and still at the verge of losing his number 1 spot.😂
Most tournaments aren’t classical
Imagine being Fabi and almost becoming world number one only to fall into world no. 3. and US no. 2.
It's crazy to think that so many people would give everything to be No.1 and we have interviewers asking Magnus if it even matters to him at all
Magnus shown quite a few times that he doenst care about "No. 1", he cares about being the best. When ding lost connection he gave him free win, he didnt go for championship because he didnt enjoyed it/the format. He is okey with "not being No. 1" because he loves chess and he want to beat others. Not be named better than the others :D
99%.. Kramnik getting suspicious..
Magnus is no different than you and I, he has good days and he has bad days.
The only difference is, when Magnus has a good day, he is the strongest chess player who ever lived... and he has a lot of good days.
I agree
Totally agree.
How no difference if he has more good days that us 😔 ? That's the biggest difference in my pov.
I like how he says he's worried about playing badly which means only about 8 other people in the world realistically have a chance at beating him in a bad day.
At that stratospheric level the pool of even potential challengers is so small that is like arguing who is the best striker in your dad's over 40 Saturday football 5 a side team.
Given how inventive and dedicated he is when 100% focused on something I wouldn't be surprised if this is only his first and shorter time of being world #1. When he does lose it he will come back come back with a completely revolutionaised play style.
@@BoulderingBear no.. the 40 best players in the world has a fairly good chance of beating Maguns Carlsen in classical chess..
6:24 Greatest player of all time, on a good day playing at 99 accuracy, with a past pawn one step from promotion, and twice as much time on the clock, against an inactive king.. Yeah, stockfish is pretty gangster calling this equal..
You are aware that stockfish isnt aware and wouldnt care who is playing or with what accuracy the position was reached right?

I don’t think it necessarily has to do with mindset, since it’s an objective statement
@@user-lq2mn6wy7f Objectively his performance ratings in classical have been below that of others the last year or two. He remains very strong due to his talent and vast experience but he himself admits he is not what he used to be.
@@countryman032Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm quite sure he's been the no.1 rated classical player with a big margin for past two years. Objectively he's still very far ahead
@@Bladieblah He's lost around 70 elo over the past 2 years and objectively hasn't been the best performing player in either of those years
@@MrWaltonius You don't understand how elo works. If there was someone who performed better than Magnus, or on pae with magnus for an entire year. They would be 2800+ by the end of that year easily, I would like to know who supposedly outperformed in those years because that really isn't possible with how elo works
You also have to realize elo gets exponentially harder to obtain and maintain. Further you have to keep in mind that the close to 2900 elo you are referring to was a record attempt by Magnus to hit that 2900. To get that elo he was likely cherry picking tournaments and doing everything to maximize the number rather than going for championship wins, which is the normal peiority.
Having 95,6 % accuracy and loose ins such insane
very true.
There's only one number 1 in this world and that's Carlsen. Rest are just pretenders.
Magnus on try hard mode, just tells how good he is saying that he can turn off try hard mode at this level
I like when any other gm loses then everybody consoles them saying chess is brutal and blah bblah...but when magnus loses i remember in cct finals everybody just say his reign is over...hypocrisy😂
A fine display of personal grit, fighting for every advantage after a difficult game that could have put a less experienced player on tilt.
listening to a genius is truly mind opening
This guys is one of the kind his commentary is brilliant.
always very truthful in his answers..
I appreciate that Magnus is a great spokesman about the Game of Chess
As well as being arguably the Greatest of all Time
Great stuff
I think Magnus had connection to its motherboard (UFO)
I couldn't follow chess before Carlsen era, so I wonder if any dominator had similar style. At least in classical he is not crashing his opponents with some genius tactics. He just sees an opportunity, and goes for a win where all the others agree to draw. Second thing is mentality. It is always natural for him to try win a game, when also genius players like Caruana or Nakamura seems to be a bit shaky playing with him.
Top GMs are so well prepared by computer lines nowadays and are so hungry. Contrasted to Magnus whose focus isn't classical anymore, I think this game is a good example of how he'll win going forward. He's not going to out prepare the best of the new generation. Fortunately for Magnus he's always had a bit of a love affair with endgames.
This guy looks kinda good at chess 😮
Crushing world#2 with 99% accuracy 😶
The world rankings are a joke. For anybody to suggest Fabi, even had he won today, is remotely close to Magnus is ludicrous. Fabi is a great player but Magnus’ résumé over the last 1-3-5 years is light years better than anybody else’s.
Are we living in the same world? if 3 Years ago Fabi's and Magnus' Elos were equal fabi would surprass him. He is dominating the classical chess right now in my opinion as he beaten Carlsen 2-3 times in the near past.
Exactly. Not to mention Magnus doesn't play a lot of classical these days to gain ratings.
Pls show us the women tournament games. Why show us just the men ?? We want to see vaisali's games too ???
Magnus needs to actually try again to not loose his no. 1 spot. Good motivation...
To lose his no. 1 spot, Magnus must play drunk for the entire year. Playing half-drunk is not enough, or playing drunk only at some tournaments.
to be fair, he was only like 14 points ahead of Caruana before this game. a few good games from Fabiano and some draws from Carlsen, and he would’ve lost it.

It’s a shame and frankly foolish to not cover magnuss games fully. He’s literally the greatest chess player in history. Certainly today’s days. It boggles my mind that when Magnus is playing we aren’t glued to his game. Study how he thinks.
i wish magnus had his own stream production that could cover just his game. i know theres a lot of viewers who dont like magnus, or want to see other players (which is understandable) but even if the position is "boring" and youre not biased either way, how could you not want to see the player whos rated #1?
@@lightofscorpio9396bro there will be only 2 or 3 %viewers who don't want to watch magnus
Nah it would be boring to Look at one game for 4 hours. It doesnt matter how much we study None of us is a professional
Meanwhile they're dedicating half of the stream to 2400 rated players who aren't even in the world top 500. We should be watching the world no.1 and 2 play. It's absurd the lengths that companies will go for 'political correctness' even when it defies all common sense.

Yeah, the position was dry, there's several other games to cover. Only reason the game got interesting was because Fabi got outplayed at the very end there but it was drawn the whole time. There's a reason there invite all the other players and call it a tournament. If we wanted to just sit here and watch Magnus play all day that's one thing, this is Norway Chess. @@s4m3r why did he lose 50 rating points I thought he almost never loses?
2900 is no longer possible for at least a while now that the new generation is so strong and taking points from these guys (remember Magnus loses points even for a draw). A bunch of the young guys were also way underrated due to not playing rated games for 1-2 years during the pandemic, so the overall curve has now flattened a bit.
