The lore they're adding for the Lament Configuration, is tremendous. With the box cutting you each time, making you feel the pain and basically asking you if you want to continue, is awesome. Everything from the cinematography, to the voice Jamie Clayton has done, has made this my number 1 horror movie to watch instead of Halloween Ends, which is a HARD thing to do!
As someone who discovered your channel through your Hellraiser lore videos, finally reaching this point where we are getting a new movie that looks so good and seems to be shaking up the lore in fantastic ways is just wonderful. Let's hope it doesn't disappoint, I'll surely await your review
Anyone else notice... when we get the over head of the girl on the roundabout and pinhead in the distance.... we get a laughing little girl sound ... nice lil salute to the novella voice.
Yes this gives of HP Lovecraft vibes. This is good to see Hellraiser went back to its roots. None of this 'Soft Horror' we've gotten over the past few years.
I can definitely see what you're seeing as far as the Lovecraft influence. Very cold, very ethereal.
I wouldn't say HP Lovecraft. Leviathan doesn't really resemble the entities Lovecraft was writing about. The Cenobites and their dimension and rules governing their behavior reflect judaism and Christianity. Lovecraftian entities could not care less about human sexuality. (Except for Yog-Sothoth who seemed to want hybrid versions of itself in every version of reality. But even that was only a means to an end)
I think it's the cosmic horror genre more than specifically Lovecraft

Yeah god knows why they strayed away from the body horror aspect it’s what made hellraiser so memorable, fingers crossed this one comes to the party

I love that they included the "jeweled pin" detail for Pinhead, it gives the character design an ethereal look.

Whether the film is good, bad, excellent, horrible, or meh, this trailer did what it was supposed to. I am officially fucking stoked for this. It looks absolutely fantastic, by every definition of the word. Bruckner has yet to disappoint me, I genuinely hope he doesn't start now.
Wasn't super excited for this previously, but the trailer has made me a believer. Quite hyped now.

Very very promising. Jamie Clayton looks and sounds fantastic, there seems to be some cool new additions to the lore, and David Bruckner looks to be perfectly paired with the material. It also looks like they really did put good money into this film which I was worried about since it's for Hulu but I'm pretty impressed with the look and feel of it all.
The voice reminds me of Female Cenobite or even a little bit of Zuul from Ghostbusters. I like it.
Hellraiser is one of my fav horror franchises but no one ever seems to "get it".
It's not about gore for the sake of gore, it's about gore for the sake of pleasure.
The cenobites truly believe in delivering the most extreme of experiences in both pleasure and pain so that it's so overwhelming you cannot separate the two. They are not evil per say, they just want to explore "in the further regions of experience. [being] Demons to some, angels to others"
I hope this one with the inclusion of Barker, finally the series will get back to its roots.
Bruckner is a solid horror director that seems to have a real love for the source material. He did a really good job with The Ritual and The Night House, so I would actually be surprised if this turned out to be bad.
Ritual was good and NH was passable but neither were particularly scary which isnt a good sign for this.

Same here. I'm pleasantly surprised with how good the production values look too. I was worried since it was going straight to Hulu but it actually looks gorgeously shot.
It's still a woman riding on the coattails of what a man did before. Somehow that's empowering.

Hellraiser was one of the few horror films that truly creeped me out as a kid (including the Fly and the Thing). That being said, I'm stoked Hellraiser is making it's grand return after years of sub-par straight to video sequels. Personally I think the trailer looks fantastic. Honestly it's the horror film of 2022 I'm looking forward to the most. This and Prey are really raising the bar of films on streaming and I'm all for it
Still haven't watched the last 2 parts, but I know the rest.
To be fair, the one with the cop who lost his memory & tries to find out what's going on, and when he does it's him being the bad guy, that movie, to me, had some serious "Silent Hill" vibes, which is nice.
The rest, not so much, only the Pinhead scenes are good. You realy do know those were not supposed to be "Hellraiser"...

I was not expecting Jamie to sound that scary! Really looking forward to this. From the writers to the director, they've got all of the elements for this to be the best Hellraiser since the original 2.

I loved the first 3 after that they lost me. I did watch the sequels after but was like "meh" this has me excited for the franchise again!
@@DaRealPhillyJawn It almost feels like a proper Hellraiser III. The reason I say that is I think they missed a step with the 'handmade' Cenobites in 3 originally. They were silly even though they were deadly serious. The budget for 3 was insane though and it was definitely good. I think IV holds up even though it's a bit of a mess.
This looks like the proper follow up to Hellbound that we never got all those years ago. This is going to be badass!
I'm a massive hellraiser fan and I was very sceptical before this trailer but damn...they got me now. If the movie can live up to this trailer they got a massive hit here.
I have been a dedicated Hellraiser fan for over 25+ years, having seen all of the movies (1st & 2nd being officially canon while all the others, especially Resurrection, being non-canon), having listened thoroughly "many, many times" to the audiobooks of The Scarlet Gospels & Hellraiser: The Toll, owning ALL the Hellraiser comics (both Epic & BOOM! Studios as well as both Anthologies) and the books (The Hellbound Heart, Hellbound Hearts, The Scarlet Gospels, Sherlock Holmes and the Servants of Hell), collecting all the action figures (including the Pillar of Souls & Leviathan), making a few Hellraiser fan-scultures, creating my very own cenobite costume, and after tying all the stories together into the biggest Hellraiser timeline in an orderly manner that makes sense (thanks largely due to the ability of the cenobites to steal, give, and manipulate the memories of their victims thus tying Epic to BOOM! Studios to The Scarlet Gospels & Hellraiser: The Toll), I thought I had such sights to show you... That was until I saw this amazing trailer which just blew my mind, or to put it correctly, it just tore my soul apart!

I love how Chatterer cuts a much more intimidating and regal shape in this trailer. Though most people who recognize him see him as sort of the sidekick to Pinhead, he’s actually a very holy figure in his own right; one of the cenobites closest to their version of perfection.

I found your channel through Hellraiser, Mr H. It feels great to share the excitement of this new Hellraiser and the possibilities it can bring with the changes to the lore.
This looks amazing and should of been a theatrical release so it could reach a wider audience, as not everyone likes streaming and would prefer to watch it other ways, I'm not a fan of it being a digital only release, I would of loved to have owned it on Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray disc and feel a little disappointed that I can't own it in my movie collection as I own all the Hellraiser movies on Blu-ray and DVD.
If this doesn't get a bluray release I will buy or make a bootleg just to have it in my physical collection
@@gazhavok568 Yes it will be a real shame if it doesn't get a physical release, I'd prefer an official version because the video and audio quality will be a lot better.

@@gazhavok568 It's likely that it will get a physical media release. Prey has a Blu-Ray/DVD release set for november so I'd say probably we could get this in January maybe.
The excitement on Mr. H ‘s face is priceless I know he’s in love with this property and now so am I this looks awesome

I hope it's on par with the first two movies. It doesn't have to be great to be better than most of the entries but I do hope that it will be great nonetheless.
@@bobjohnson1633 it being better really just depends on how good the writers and director do. As for cgi I don't mind it if it's utilized well, but I do prefer practical effects over CGI especially when it comes to gore. This trailer however seems to utilize both relatively well so hopefully the final product will live up to the first 2 original films.
That looks amazing. Like the new idea for the box and that it has many configurations beyond Lament. And wow Jamie's voice. They captured what Clive did with the otherworldly Robotic between male and female voice he described for Pinhead so damned perfect. The cenobite design as you said with no clothes but cut away flesh infused with leather (having their own hides cut out, cured, and put back on them?)
First movie I've really been stoked about seeing for a very long time. Pre-pandemic i guess.
I see so many of the promising ideas from past films and the unpublished lore. The house (Bloodline?), the novella speaking of other configurations of the box. I even like the Necronomicon book style idea to Lovecraft and Evil Dead.
Damn - this done right as this looks to be and they could reboot the franchise. This could tell so many stories.
This looks to be fucking brilliant!! There’s a lot of shouts to the original from what I could tell in the trailer and they’ve greatly expanded on the lore of it all. So excited to see this!!
I am very much intrigued, I love the look, the atmosphere, the lovecraftian forboding, and the voice of the Hell Priest, is so interesting. I don't mind changes in lore, if it is adding to the lore, building upon it and giving it layers, not stripping it of some of its depth. I may need to rewatch the other Hellraiser movies, to see if there any nods or references throughout this one.
I like trans pinhead, gives me that Slaanesh vibe from 40k. Fluid and “other”. Absolutely loving the lovecraftian elements too! Never been a hellraiser fan before but damn this might just turn me into one :)

I love the way the chains sort of snake through the air, rather than just the straight flow of previous films. This trailer looks fucking great.
I'm really digging the new lore. I like how you suggest the final configuration grants an audience with Leviathan and perhaps a wish of some sort. Makes you ask what lengths people would go to in order to claim said wish. We're not talking about something as mindlessly basic as what Frank Cotton wanted, but to be granted anything and everything you could possibly ever want? If that's the case, then there's going to be a _very_ long history of killing over control of the Lament Configuration.

Could that book be another Necronomicon type, as in reproduced by Sideshow or TrickOrTreatStudios? I would definitely want this new Pinhead as a 1/6th scale figure!
Mr H! I'm a bit worried as apparently Hulu say they don't have the rights to show this movie outside of the US....was hoping for it to be similar to Prey which was also on Hulu but was shown on Disney + here in the UK. Hope we get to see it somehow!

The trailer looks incredible and I'm very much looking forward to this film. I'm a big fan of Bruckner's "The Night House" so I'm pumped for his take on "Hellraiser".

Interesting trailer. I can tell from the look alone that the Cenobites look was inspired from the novel. The story is different from The Hellbound Heart but this looks good. Different enough from the original while still being faithful to Clive barkers original work.

I'm really excited for this, story has Hellraiser 2 vibes, Cenobites are very grotesque, score is great, of course just like his other movies Directing is great and the cinema photography as well, I don't think I have a single nitpick with it.

There is so much hate and ignorant idiocy on social media about this movie. I guess for some people, the idea that a trans person exists scares them to the point of lunacy. I think this movie is going to be amazing. As much as I loved Doug Bradley's Pinhead; this portrayal is so much more accurate to the source material. The hellpriest was always described as an androgynous being, having features both feminine and masculine.
I'm shocked with this! this after Prey, is gonna start making me get excited when Hulu announces any horror projects going forward lol

My first comic conventions was my first exposure to Hellraiser. They gave away paper replicas of the Lament configuration. I was 9 and had no idea what it was or it's significance lol but I thought it was cool. Saw Pinhead was scared yet intrigued. He had an eerie charisma.
Partly imagine what if it had been the real thing. Grew older and got deeper into it in my mid teens and things Clive Barker.
I'm glad it looks like a quality film. It shows what's possible with the right director and script. I still find it a shame that Doug Bradley doesn't get a change to play pinhead again. But at least his replacement is quite impressive.
Doug was actually invited to do a cameo which he declined , but in the sort of way of " Look , you're gonna do just fine , you don't need me there " and indeed thay have done fine, exceptionally so .
A great story turned into another cliché teen horror.

If you remember the awesome 'upset' at the end of the movie Hellseeker when Kirsty Cotton is brought back and how that story turns out, I think you will see similarities in how they are starting the story reboot. In order to achieve all six configurations and still be alive, you have to start walking the path to damnation before you even see a cenobite. One after another, if you are willing to condemn 6 people to that, you are already damned. Love it

The makeup and cenobite design looks incredible. Wasn't expecting pinheads new voice to sound like that but it's still good. I hope we get some throwbacks of her voice changing into a child to lure people in. You can definitely see Clive's influence. I'm unfamiliar with main actors in this besides Clayton, I hope they are good. Based on this trailer though there's massive potential begin a new successful era for Hellraiser.

As a fan of the novella and really big fan of the first two movies I think they really nailed it with everything they are showing. I like that they made subtle changes to both the box and the cenobites, really excited to see a solid look on Chatterbox/Chatterer which has always been my favorite cenobite in fact so much so that I always have Chatterer and Kirsty as my phone wallpaper.. to some interesting conversations as people commonly mistaken what the picture is haha. I am absolutely stoked to see this also the fact that Prey was also very entertaining I mean i'm all for Hulu putting out some solid work as they head into the Movie market.
