Lovely tutorial my friend! Thank you for this awesome upload - I've been wondering about pads for my next PO33 team with breakbeat - you got this nicely! ❤️❤️
Holy shit! I just stumbled apon this.. didnt know about it..Mind blown! I got po rhythm and arcade.. i wasnt to hot to get the tonic.. im so glad i waited!! I gotta get this! TAKE MY MONEY!!
really dope track. i knowits kind of latee butttt...i got a question if you may..do you think that the po 33 is capable of creating a high audio quality track ?
Awesome man! You really make groove with it! Try something like Kick on 1st 11 and 16th for double effect. Snare on 5th 8th 11th and 13th step. Hi-hat for 1/2 beat each. Open hi-hat on the 15th step. Two different color of snare layered on 5th and 13 th step. Swing value 15. Tempo around 80 to 90 and just jamming
I connected it to some self-powered ones and it sounds very weak. I connected it to a sound card connected to a PC and you can't hear anything and I connected it to an electric guitar amp and it sounds weak and terribly bad. I don't know what to do now, I bought it for a small live performance and I don't know what I should do. If someone can help me I would appreciate it very much.
The big difference for me is that the Volca Sample can't sample. You just load them into the volca. The PO-33 KO! has both a mic and an input for sampling... That helpes a lot
Trying to use a DJ controller for scratching and a modular synth for the master keyboard to add more sound. Would I even need a big sampler/beatpad like an AKAI MPC One to make beats like this or would the PO be okay ? the PO would right along a DJ Pioneer 800
I got a feedback loop from the audio I recorded on video... The output of the PO went back into the PO again... That wont happen in a different kind of setup
I wouldn't recommend it as main beatmaking device, but it's definitely great to mess around with and gain inspiration. for more advanced beats download any DAW (you can also pirate it ;) ) of your choice and you've got a nice starting point.
@@rotifreak - LMAO!! "You can also pirate it".. so classy to see people recommending stealing and thieving on the Internet like it's no big deal. Sad. Pathetic criminal, much?
I got some feedback from the PO-33 sending the audio to the mixer for the camera recording... It made an audio loop so I just had to unplug it because of the video recording.
I connected the audio and the camera in such a way that I got feedback from the line out into the line in. Just because I used a camera.. .Nothing that'll effect any "normal" user.
They do. But I think I will wait for UK stock. As the price they are charging for essentially a plastic case with rubber buttons, I could buy another operator.
“I’m not saying this is my best track ever but it’s made on a Pocket Operator so what do you expect with it?”. Then why bother using it? What’s the point of making tracks on it with these low expectations?
so dope
Red Means Recording Are you planning on making a video on this and the 35?
Studio21Prod. Yes! Eventually
that stop motion intro is beautiful! good stuff! :)
Dope... the scratches tie it all together!
Thanks! Im not a great scratch dj but I do love the feeling it brings to a beat :D
Thanks for watching!
Awesome, It's like a mini SP404!
For real tho
The TechDeck sliding in with the batteries kills me lol Great intro!
Incredible. I need one of these little guys.
Those are some gourmet scratches you got there mate! Shits heavy!
I had trouble with the case , puttin it on lol. Love this thing !
This is amazing....didnt know those little teenage eng pact so much userbility
I know! The design of these machines are just crazy good!
Great intro and nice beat! Got my PO-33 today! This is going to be a looong night ;D
This was great! Subbed. Loving the K.O.!
You had my attention even before the scratching. That was epic.
didnt expect the PO to be able to do that much! really like it!!
I know! Same here... It's a little hard to set the start and end points of the samples with the small knobs sometimes but its 100% doable!
Accurate Beats yeah! its probably great for on the road or maybe even live
Sure!! Now you got the MPC Live, you definitely need another sampler. ;)
Haha! Noooo... There is a difference between "needing" and "wanting" :)
Very nice!
Dope. Love the Lego intro.
I love your videos! pure quality
Very nice man ✌️
Lovely tutorial my friend! Thank you for this awesome upload - I've been wondering about pads for my next PO33 team with breakbeat - you got this nicely! ❤️❤️
Loved the intro
unlike everything else te make this is actually well priced for its form factor and its capabilities, i might get one to pair with my op-1
That intro was sick
Could I do this with audio on my laptop? And perhaps record it into audacity?
Best p.o. so far. Looks like I have to sell my volca sample now. Dope jam!
I totally agree! This is the best PO hands down! I also really dig using it with the case - it makes a big difference
The intro was awesome
Your stuff always shines bro! ⭐️
Holy shit! I just stumbled apon this.. didnt know about it..Mind blown! I got po rhythm and arcade.. i wasnt to hot to get the tonic.. im so glad i waited!! I gotta get this! TAKE MY MONEY!!
Yeah. The PO-33 KO! is the best Pocket Operator by FAR :D
Love this video
The vibes are real on this🔥🔥
Pretty dope.
Thanks!
clever intro, super sweet man....
Dope man!
where did u pick up the case please
REALLY NICE JOB WHAT YOU DID HERE MY FRIEND, REALLY NICE!!
sorry for the capitals!
Whoa haha that's dope asf and easy! That's great!
great intro!
Thank you!
I think I'm going to grab the P-35 Speak. You can get some really interesting sounds out of that one.
Rad video. Cheers.
Yeah! Im also thinking about getting it. Please tell me how you feel about it!
Im trying to decide between this or the P-33. I like the fx on this one.
really dope track. i knowits kind of latee butttt...i got a question if you may..do you think that the po 33 is capable of creating a high audio quality track ?

So, adding a protective case means you lose the visual feedback of the led lights? That is a serious design flaw.
Is it possible to turn off quantize? Or is the Swing option just fine?
awesome Bro!!!
tnx u
So awesome, where I can find these beat?
I connected it to some self-powered ones and it sounds very weak. I connected it to a sound card connected to a PC and you can't hear anything and I connected it to an electric guitar amp and it sounds weak and terribly bad. I don't know what to do now, I bought it for a small live performance and I don't know what I should do. If someone can help me I would appreciate it very much.
I'm a bit late to the party, but this is very cool. KO + scratch is dope!
This is amazing, is there a for dummies tutorial for how to use for beginners and also is there a way to save samples digitally?
VanDavid94 VanDavid94 I just got mine last week and Gar Hoover’s video on creating the “stepping stone” track really helped me out, hope this helps.
How do you erase or delete a sound you entered in a pattern?
Sample over it.
What record is the drumloop from??
Me too!
sick! Im waiting for mines 33 and 35
Oh1 That's a nice combo!
Accurate Beats just got it 2weeks ago! 😊😀😀
Let's team up!
nice
what's better between this and the volca sample?
The big difference for me is that the Volca Sample can't sample. You just load them into the volca. The PO-33 KO! has both a mic and an input for sampling... That helpes a lot
cool, and what about actually using the devices? did you find one easier to use and make patterns with than the other?
Trying to use a DJ controller for scratching and a modular synth for the master keyboard to add more sound. Would I even need a big sampler/beatpad like an AKAI MPC One to make beats like this or would the PO be okay ? the PO would right along a DJ Pioneer 800
Reminds me of the adult swim bumps
Niiice
Intro was fun, had my 13 year old self rolling around in his grave
Why are you unplugging the output every time you record something?
I got a feedback loop from the audio I recorded on video... The output of the PO went back into the PO again... That wont happen in a different kind of setup
Ah yeah, that makes sense :)
5:38 😮
Did you realize hiss or distortion? I have on mine. Especially kick drums don’t sound very nice
When I crank the volume of the kick to 100% it gets kinda distorted in a weird way but I haven't heard an overall hiss on the unit
Just ordered one of these arriving tomorrow cant wait. Great vid ✌💚
How many different things can you sample to use in a pattern?
It's monophonic, and it's limited to 4 voices.
Would you recommend this for smn who has not much experience in beat making and music theory?
I wouldn't recommend it as main beatmaking device, but it's definitely great to mess around with and gain inspiration. for more advanced beats download any DAW (you can also pirate it ;) ) of your choice and you've got a nice starting point.
@@rotifreak - LMAO!! "You can also pirate it".. so classy to see people recommending stealing and thieving on the Internet like it's no big deal. Sad. Pathetic criminal, much?
Why you plug out output cable, when plug in input? Can PO33 makes some fx on input signal?
I got some feedback from the PO-33 sending the audio to the mixer for the camera recording... It made an audio loop so I just had to unplug it because of the video recording.
why do you have to plug in and out the input between every step
I connected the audio and the camera in such a way that I got feedback from the line out into the line in. Just because I used a camera.. .Nothing that'll effect any "normal" user.
do u mean write by rec?
огонь! олдскул чувак
Dig the low bit rate vibes. Is that 8 bit?
Im actually not sure but yeah, the low quality really brings a cool feel to the sound
the recorded audio is 8-bit, µ-law companded, 23437.5 Hz samplerate
teenageengineering Good to know...thx a lot.
Fuck man... this video gets a thumbs up just for the stop-motion intro!
Where did you get the case from? Could you also tell me the name of it? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Hex iD The case is also from teenage engineering. It’s called CA-X and available directly from their web shop. It works great!
Thanks for the quick response! I will check it out.
Hmm they don't seem to have them in the UK. Probably why I struggled to find them.
Hex iD Ah! I see.
But teenage ships worldwide, right?
They do. But I think I will wait for UK stock. As the price they are charging for essentially a plastic case with rubber buttons, I could buy another operator.
This is very neat. how much memory does the KO have?
David Robot thanks! I think the total sampling time is 40 secs and that gets shared over the entire unit.
Not 100 on that though.
this is correct, 40 seconds in total.
wait, did you chop up the break?? how?
It is actually possible to adjust the start and end points of the samples! SICK
If you assign the sample to a drum slot, the KO chop it up automatically.
Yeah! And the slices are editable
who said there’s no future for minimalistic music making? huh?
Hi man. How many lines can it play simultaneously?
Im not 100% sure actually but I ran into problems when I added the string melody on top of the main chords with the baseline and the drums...
PO-33 has four (4) simultaneous voices
sounds like Horillaz surprisingly. great work!
Alex Lane thank yo’
Nice video, hope you'll do more like this one. Too bad you sold your PO-32, if Teenage Eng. read this, please send him a Tonic !
Thanks! The PO-32 was cool but I think this one fit me a lot better :)
Thanks for watching!

“I’m not saying this is my best track ever but it’s made on a Pocket Operator so what do you expect with it?”. Then why bother using it? What’s the point of making tracks on it with these low expectations?
For the fun of it
*And another Accurate beat minus messing up on the patterns. lol*
E L I T E O N T H E B E A T haha! Yeah. I messed that one up :p
This looks so confusing to use.
I gotta stop buying shit hahahh
Nice
