My Dobermann knows basic commands but does them when he sees fit, good videos, clear instructions and interesting content, will keep practicing, thanks Robert.
The best part of watching this video was my 5 month old puppies was listening and watching too! Laugh all you want people but he does this in class and when he does it I find he learns the commands better.
My dobie is so elastic she bends forward on her toes to avoid lying down . We have sit, wait and stay to a T, indoors. OK on leash outdoors. Recall and Down elude us. Trying to bring more hand signals into play with sit and wait commands. We're having great fun but vaguely concerned that she's holding back for more play time. Thanks for the ideas
Just want to say thx Robert! I’ve been slackin big time with the training of my Black Lab over the last 2 1/2yrs. I’ve tried many “styles” with high fail rate. I decided to sink my teeth into your style & after 3 weeks he’s a different dog. I’m going hard with obedience working towards a waterfoul dog for hunting!!
Good morning sir at present I'm seeing ur all clips in utub and teaching my dog I feel esear to teach I want to be ur member please tell me what I have to do please sir
Can you do a video about training a dog to sit safely load and unload from the car safely for trips and such. I'm really struggling and would like to take my dog out more
My 3 month old (12 week) boston terrier has learned "sit", "stay', and "come". She doesnt RELEASE from "sit" or "stay" until I say "come", (Great pup!) but this command, even bringing treats all the way to the floor, she just doesnt understand or want to "lay down".
You have to ask yourself why from their point of view. It may not come naturally due to their specific anatomy. Maybe they're getting less O2 from the shortened nose to the trachea and their large upper body mass. Maybe a different style is in order for some pups.
I will cry watching this, I have a 2 month old whirlwind furry piranha that just won't calm down. He is very intelligent though and picks up things very quickly but puppy phase is difficult
We're having difficulty getting our GSD rescue to pay attention to us as we train. We have his favorite toys and treats, but would rather be on the looking what's "beyond us" instead of focusing on us. He's a ok listener indoors but once we go outside he loses focus on us. Any tips?
there are several videos on this channel that are learning as we go. its best to show the obedience with dogs that know it so that you can see what it should look like. that is why i did it this way.
Dear Robert I love your videos. And you are the greatest trainer on RUclips for sure. I just got a lab puppy 2 month old. I want to know what should be the first 3 command s that i should teach him.
Two questions 1) Do you feel Malinois are a little more difficult to train than other breeds?? 2) I'm sure you've answered this question many times but is Goofy a Malinois? Thank you for your time.
How do you correct an older dog who was taught to down but does a down off to the side (legs are not underneath him) i want to correct this as it is completely sloppy. Cheers
Omg hes doing it ur the best THANKS SOOOOOO MUCH UR THE BEST ♥️ He Leard how to lie down in 15 minitits THANKS UR THE BEST TRAINER EVER THANKS UR THE BEST😁😇♥️😘 THANKS
Sir Robert, may i ask if is it okay if me and my dog have our own language compared to using the english language? I know this question maybe weird but I was thinking of using a made up language for the commands where only me and my dog can understand. Tnx
Understood the food lure and the lead part but he didn't really teach how or when he integrated to vocal command. My puppy drops down but I have to put my hand on the ground in front of him. I would like to teach him to do it without needing me to physically do anything.
I have a now two year old mastiff and he has zero aggression and his pinch collar is just jewelry for him now. But I know I need to get him over his fear. And the pinch collar is great he turned my pup from pulling me every where. Am I right to think he sees the pinch collar as something that would make him uncomfortable and he knows when it will happen. I need a lot of getting my self into shape but it is my dog comes before my pain. I know I just have to get him to see that noise he hears are no big deal. I am working around my disability and I don't want to force him to just listen and look...am I thinking right. I'm thinking of getting an ecollar because I want to get him off the leash safely!!! For all!! I wish I was your neighbor but I borrow a lot of sugar. I don't want to push him and end up messing him up. Love to you and yours!
I agree have a dog who is unruly I have a 13 month mastiff that will not come back but will charge me and want to play he knocks me down not fun helppppppp
Ok I followed your video exactly and guess who is willing to lay!!! I will continue to reinforce the commands. One last question. Stand? Is there a hand position or a specific word for that. Up she jumps. But I want her to go from stand to lay bypassing sit. And I notice you touch his nose with a yes for go. Is the nose touch significant. Thanks again.

Not at once I’ll break that half a slice into about 12 pieces and treat when I’m happy with what my pups done. Each portion should have about 5 or 6 slices so that’s 10 treat sessions right there. Depending on your dogs size you may want to give him more. You can also use cooked chicken slices as well. Whatever your dog likes. Try to get meat without seasoning.
