This is such a wonderful video, thank you and Elise for this incredible collab and for trying out some of tips from the book! You ladies are just the best!!! 🩷🩷🩷
You’re right. They are the best. So professional 💫 this collaboration between the three of you is a hit. As we say here in Oz. “Gold star and a koala stamp” ⭐️🐨
Every Saturday morning I wake up, settle with my crochet and fur baby on the couch, and check your channel and Elise’s channel. I spend Saturday mornings with the two of you. This is the crossover of my dreams!!! Thank you - I can’t wait to watch!!!
The first part of hack 4 gives the exact same result as to pull through with the new colour. The second part of the hack is what makes a difference. Many great hacks ❤❤❤
The first part can help with tension in the color change. But only if you make a few stiches in the new color befor you remove the extra loop. But other than that yes, the yarn takes te exact same path, so no difference there.
That zig zag join is something completely new for me and I LOVE it. Great video, Toni! I watched Elise's video as well. Two of my favorite creators in a collab. What a dream!
Goodness. I feel like I just watched the first time someone put peanut butter and chocolate together….world changing and FABULOUS! Love both you girls!
A hack for hack #4! For my color changes, I don’t complete the stitch, lift the loop, and insert the hook back into the stitch. Instead, for that last single crochet for the color change, I insert the hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, **yarn over with the new color and complete the stitch**. Basically still a single crochet, but introduce the new yarn at that last step prior to completing the stitch. It’s essentially the same thing, but without the fuss of lifting the loop and trying to find the correct stitches to insert the hook back in. Love the hacks! Especially that invisible seam in the round, I feel like that hack could be used in multiple types of stitches ☺️
The point of that one is that it doesn't change the tension of that specific stitch like it does a lot of the time when you pull through with the new color. I noticed a big difference in the consistency of my color changes when I started doing that
The color change trick is the same as normally done but with extra steps, although your addition is a good tip taking that extra loop that is created when picking up the thread
Hey Toni! It was interesting to see your and Elise's two different personalities in this collaboration. Elise was very enthusiastic as always, but I really appreciate the way that you focussed on honouring and highlighting the writer of the book throughout your video.
Hi from the UK, I bought your book and waiting for it to arrive. My Nana taught me to crochet granny squares when I was about 8, I am 63 now and have taught my self to read patterns but haven't really made anything beyond blankets, hats, scarves and a couple of ponchos. Now I feel ready to try other garments now
Great these hacks are all in one book. Some have been around for years like the alternative stitch instead of chains. ("A stitch less ordinary" used it and there's an easier version of it too.). If you use the pencil grip hold the twisted loop with your middle finger instead of the index finger while finishing the stitch.
Hi Toni, I want to say I love your videos, and I have learned a lot of things. I saw your video about organization. I use small storage bins because I had projects all over the house. Also, I am trying to go thrall my uncomplicated projects as well. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ keep teaching.
Hello Toni, I am glad I followed lovely Elise's advice to come check your channel out. She is right u explain and demonstrate beautifully. Now I will have to go check out more of your channel to c what I have been missing out on !😊 Love and prayers from Australia🇦🇺🐨 💗💗💗🙏🙏🙏🧶🧶🧶
wow this was super helpful! I've been working a chain between my rounds but I can't wait to try the standing double crochet stitch. Also that colour change 😻 Thank you for sharing 🌼
Hi Toni, yes as others have said, a much awaited colab. I recently learned the color change from Play Hooky with me but I didn’t know the part about bringing in that joined color to make it look even more seemless. Love the granny join as well. This book will most definitely be going on my watch list. Have a wonderful weekend.
I will be getting this book!!! The join is amazing and I have a project I will definitely use this hack on. You are as many have said - an amazing teacher and you got me to tackle tunisian again thru your book!
Unfortunately, i just broke my arm so I'm not crocheting right now. But i did use your link to get the book. At least i can be learning while I'm healing! I enjoyed the video.
These are going to be so good for my next project. I'm working on your Daphne blanket to be gifted to a friend's new baby and just love how it's coming together. Also, I had to go get myself one of those rose gold hooks because they're just gorgeous and I need more metal hooks for all the cotton yarn I'll be using in my next project. Thank you!
I love seeing two of my favorite crocheters come together-Yay! Thank you Toni for the AMAZING tips and a fabulous reminder that there is always more to learn! You're the best!
Just watched Elise's video and then ran over here. I'm definitely going to pick up that book! I love that zig zag join! I recently made a bunch of squares for an afghan (the Retro Stripes Sunburst afghan from NautiKrall) and that join would look so cool! Thank you Toni!
Great tips, but I'm really confused by hack 4 - isn't it just a longer way of doing exactly the same as completing the stitch with the new colour? Complete the stitch with old colour, insert back the way you came & drag through new colour then pull out the last step of old colour. What am I missing? TIA
Great Video, Toni! Great book! I love being able to find such useful tips and information all in one place. This book won’t be collecting dust on my shelves. 🐝🧶💕🙂
I found hack 3 interesting. I typically use linked dc's if I have to step up - though I also typically hang out in the amigu world anymore, so I spiral without stepping up 95% of the time. But now I want to experiment. haha
SHUT. THE. FRONT. DOOR. I hope my book arrives SOON! It’s on order. My goodness, these tips are GAME CHANGERS. Great to see my faves together! Xxx ☺️🫶🏻🧶🍦🍦
That zigzag join is absolutely gorgeous. I used it to join intarsia panels for a blanket I did recently and it it just made the whole thing pop in a good way 😊
not related to the video and i just found your link that's SO filled with gorgeous patterns! and some for FREE? like damn thank you so much! pd: i did a rippled stitch mini blanket for my kitty in her fur colors! again thank youuuu
Ohhh this will make some serious crochet bosses!!! I also noticed your blush Furls😁 I am Furls fiend and we won't talk about how many sets I have...but do use them🤣🤣
I watched this the other day and when she got to hack three, I thought to myself, "There's no seamless join". I thought I'd tried them all. I hadn't this one though. Since hen I've used it on some scrubbies and granny squares and it's the closest, to seamless, I've sever seen the join. We'll always use it now. 100%. Thanks :)
This is such a wonderful video, thank you and Elise for this incredible collab and for trying out some of tips from the book! You ladies are just the best!!! 🩷🩷🩷

awwww love the ritual!! i'm sure elise would agree that we're so grateful to spend our saturdays with you as well. thanks for the support! xo
The first part of hack 4 gives the exact same result as to pull through with the new colour. The second part of the hack is what makes a difference. Many great hacks ❤❤❤
I was also thinking this, you go back through the same two loops right? The second part does make it look nice and clean!
The first part can help with tension in the color change. But only if you make a few stiches in the new color befor you remove the extra loop. But other than that yes, the yarn takes te exact same path, so no difference there.

THE collab of the century omg !!
Yes
A video with elise the collab we never knew we needed

Invisible needle join is also called the Russian Join. It’s one of my all time faves for joining same color yarns. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The color change trick is the same as normally done but with extra steps, although your addition is a good tip taking that extra loop that is created when picking up the thread
It just keeps the tension consistent with the stitches doing it that way
Hey Toni! It was interesting to see your and Elise's two different personalities in this collaboration. Elise was very enthusiastic as always, but I really appreciate the way that you focussed on honouring and highlighting the writer of the book throughout your video.
our styles are different, but complimentary - she's such a sweetheart and a blast to work with. thanks for supporting both videos! xo
Two of my favorites: Toni and Elise.

Can't believe I caught this live.. love watching Elise and you together...❤❤❤
I use the "standing double" for **everything** - not just rounds and hats. I use it for blankets for neater edges, shawls, scarves, etc.
I don't crochet a lot but the hacks you demonstrated were great and they make me want this book 😊. And one for the friend who taught me to crochet!
I just ordered the book and I can't wait until I get it

That joining the yarn hack just genius it is a little bit fiddly the thinner the yarn but not a problem at all
thanks for the insight - i was wondering how it would go with thinner yarn.
SHUT. THE. FRONT. DOOR. I hope my book arrives SOON! It’s on order. My goodness, these tips are GAME CHANGERS.
