- ⛰️I continue on the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek, trekking from Nichnai to Vishansar, Gadsar, Satsar, Gangbal, Nandkol & Naranag
In the last video, we reached the Nichnai Campsite after which I was completely exhausted and decided to offload my backpack. So, we begin our video with the trek from Nichnai Campsite to Vishansar Lake, one of the first lakes of our Kashmir Great Lakes Trek with Bikat.

Part 1: • Great Lakes Trek Kashm...
⛰️ Nichnai to Vishansar
Nichnai Campsite is located at 3500m and we had to cross Nichnai Pass, located at 4150m, on this day. The ascent to the pass was quite steep and took us around 3-4 hours.
From Nichnai Pass, our campsite was another 4 hours with a lunch spot midway. We started around 8 AM from our camp and reach Vishansar Campsite around 4 PM.
After reaching the campsite, we headed to our first alpine lake of the trek - Vishansar Lake at 3658m.
⛰️ Vishansar to Gadsar
This was supposed to be a long day so we started early from our campsite, around 7 AM. The toughest part was reaching the Gadsar Pass at 4200m. It was a zigzag route which took us close to 3- 3.5 hours from the campsite.
From Gadsar Pass, we saw both Vishansar and Krishansar Lake and it was such a beautiful sight. After reaching the pass, it was a steep descent for 30-45 minutes after which it was walking on a plain path mostly.
It took us around 2-3 hours to reach Gadsar Lake and another 2 hours to reach our campsite.
⛰️ Gadsar to Satsar
The shortest day of the trek was from our Gadsar campsite to Satsar Lake. The entire trek took only 5-6 hours and we reached our camp around 2 PM.
We had to begin with a river crossing followed by a gradual ascent which took around 2-2.5 hours to complete. After that, it was a normal walk to the campsite.
⛰️ Satsar to Gangbal and Nandkol
Finally, one of the last days to see the alpine lakes was the trek from Satsar to Nandkol. We started around 7-8 AM and reach our campsite around 3 PM.
The first half of the day is quite tricky as there is a 1-1.5 hour section of boulder crossing followed by a steep ascent of 1-1.5 hours. Once you cross the pass, you will start seeing Gangbal and Nandkol lakes in the distance.
Then, you need to complete the steep descent to reach the lunch point from where Gangbal is only a 30-minute walk. It took us around 2-3 hours to reach the lunch point.
After reaching Gangbal Lake, we spent some time here before heading to Nandkol Lake which is 40 minutes away. However, by the time we reached Nandkol, it started raining heavily with hailstorms so we had to hurry toward the campsite to dry up.
⛰️ Gangbal to Naranag
This is the last day of the trek and took us only 5 hours to complete. Although the walk to Maggi Point is simple, the descent after that is quite tricky and steep. You slip in many places and can hurt yourself so one has to be careful while doing this.
We reached Naranag before 1 PM and left for Srinagar in the taxi which took around 2 hours time.
And that's it, that's the end of our trek!!

Hey this is great thanks, I’m going for it next month.
Since you have been able to record the entire thing, how is the situation with charging phones/camera? Is it possible?
No charging facility on the trek. I took 3 power banks and used my phone and camera sparingly 😅
@@meanderwander thought so! Time to source power banks from all my friends then. Thanks
@@ayirpleo hahah yep. Mention not!
How many powerbanks required ideally
@@chayanjain4454 this depends on how much you are going to use your phone and how quickly the battery drains. I had 3 power banks of a total of 40,000 mAH that worked for me.
बहुत सुन्दर क्या ट्रैक आराम से कर सकते हैं आप सब बता दिए डराए भी, प्रोत्साहित भी किए।
Thank you 😊
Really Good Video...Informative. Btw what was the charge for Bag Offload?
Thanks! Since it was last-minute, ut was around 2500 INR. If you choose it while booking the trek, it would be cheaper. :)
