I believe if you play the Leopard 1 Correctly. You should get alot of kills, maybe nukes. Sniping is usually an effective tactic for the Leopard 1 so use it.

For reference the M48a1 on the American and Chinese tree is 7.3 and the M48A2c is a better version and it’s basically because Germany players are completely brain dead. If u played at least 1 game on Leo 1 u can say that this tank is very specific and it’s really hard to play from it’s strong side , but Leo have lots of problems. So in general Leo 1 is a tank bellow average
Its far from op, even a mosquito sting can pen the armor, but has a awesome gun and good mobility. If you use it correctly it can be a powerhouse, just avoid brawling
now we get to face T10m's and T62s with full stabilisers, better guns and more armour, with the same mobility as us! YAY Its not the best flanker of its BR but everyone else getting stabs is too much, 7.3 too low, 8.0 too high, 7.7 must be sweet spot
Sadly my first nation and as i want to get to top tier i have to play this... well it was good, dunno what gaijin thought when putting it to 8.0, if they added like a modification called "Leopard 1A2" where you can get a stab and the gadgets the 1A2 had, it would be ok.
For real though, I spent like 3 months completing my 7.3 lineup only for everything to be moved to 7.7 and the leopard to 8.0 only a few days after getting everything. Haven't played the game since which has honestly been a blessing.
Fr, it's stupid to say that it's OP or above average in any means. Leopard is what happens if you take the speed of a light tank, make it as survivable as a cardboard box and put it's zoom on 100000x.

They should really move it to 7.7 Not to say that you're not good ( your map knowledge is, indeed, very good) but the tank is just too good especially if someone knows how to use it. How can this be at the same br of a patton.
Historical reason Patton(9 cm USA) was made in the year 1952 then Leo1 was made in the year 1956(inorder of replacing Germany's M47s and M48s). That why Leo1s and M48s(90mm) seen together sadly gaijin doesn't want an cold war vehicles only bracket to fight each other

You don't need a stab most tanks at 7.7 don't have one and the ones that do trade it for pretty much everything else (centurion). The optics are great I don't know what you are on to think they are bad. Try the centurions non existent optics. laser range finders are a issue for others 7.7 and 3s so that isn't a leopard or german problem only.

The Leo in fact is great, but i very much prefer the british centurion mk.3 same br, similar shell, two-plane stabilizer. And british bias

Germany gets theirs at 7.3 though because the Germany player base has the collective IQ of a pallet of bricks.

Leo 1 is pretty garbage at 8.0. It should probably be 7.7. Tiger II (H) should be 6.3 and Tiger II (P) should be 6.0.
