Make sure that vapor doesn’t get your eyes, it stings bad and I’ve resorted to wearing poor goggles doc ock style to protect my eyes when using those times of glue.

Great video Luke! I really loved how simple and easy these all looked. We actually had the same exact idea for the Luke and Han on the 2020 stormy. So simple and easy and looks 1000x better. I’m down for more customizing content like this, it’s super useful and makes it not seem so scary! -Nate

Nice video! I’ve ruined plenty of wrist and elbow joints. I was wondering if you had considered making replacement joint pieces with the 3D printer. Someone of your skill level should make quick work of it. The joints are a different kind of stiffer plastic so a rigid resin or PLA print might work well. I’ve thought about tackling this myself but haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Wouldn’t it have been better to heat up Greedo elbow deep so the peg hole would’ve softened up too? Also I highly recommend getting threadless needle nose pliers. Might cause extra damage!

I need to get some black tack. I have the single pack MCU red guardian head on a han solo trooper body as a self custom. The head is really loose on the trooper neck ball.
    Great tip, thanks!

With custom I like to use hot glue with the head because if the head socket is to big the hot glue makes a new one and the hot glue can come out if u don’t want it anymore it worked when I made my custom mandolorian

I'm actually in the process of painting a "Fordo" figure right now. Lol. I haven't kit bashed any figures yet, but now that I see the process, it doesn't seem that much of a pain. Luke, your channel has legit everything. Awesome. 👍

I like the head swaps. J Jonah Jameson was born to be an Imp officer.
Could I suggest just drilling a little more space in the Han and Luke Heads.
Then smothering the pegs with vaseline.
Use a hot glue gun to fill the head socket, and squish it on. The vaseline should keep the head mobile on the peg.
Hope that's helpful. Thanks for the vid.👍

Plus, if you have an extra head, you can make an extra X-wing pilot also 👍 Your channel is killing it! Keep it up!

I might even give this a try if I can afford to get some extra figures down the line. I'm sure we all appreciate your help in this field. Your friend Tom

I've been customizing Marvel/SW/DC toys since the 90s, and I can genuinely say I learned about new techniques and products in this video! But that's always the case with kitbashing! My brain jumps to sculpting and painting, when I should be figuring out the jigsaw puzzle pieces.

i suggest using a electric tea keattle to boil the water instead of microwaving it. There's a chance microwaved water can explode on you if overheated. It's not very pleasant, speaking from experience.

I've been making myself a little list while doing kit bashes like this for the neck pieces. I have a container full of dumb bell joints LOL. And necks for this exact reason right here. Took a lot of trial and error on my part but now I feel that once I see the neck and the joint I can figure out which ball joint or neck I'll end up replacing it with. But I find the snow speeder Luke figure and Clone wars Obi wan have good shorter pegs to get the head closer to the neck. I watch A LOT of your videos and find you give me a lot of ideas for most of my kitbashing. I love your patreon with all the dio pieces too. Gonna have to get me some corner pieces and crates,,, Ever thought of getting into making animals and random creatures? I'm trying to find a big enough toy lizard to re purpose into a varactyle. I love this scale so much. I wish I had gotten into this a year or two earlier because there's so many little sets I'll never get under 300 now had I started this a bit earlier. lol. Oh well... it is what it is.. Better late than never though.

You can make a biggest ball for the head with hot glue with pistol : you have just to put some vaseline on the ball (for the articulation later) and put some hot glue in head, and put it on the body to let dry 15 minutes. A new ball is created for the larger head articulation :-)

  • @rebelines
    @rebelines Год назад

I went ahead and used the neck joint from Yavin Luke instead of the black stormtrooper joint and it worked pretty well. You might have to chip away a little bit of the bottom ball joint to fit into the stormtrooper neck hole, but in the end you won’t even notice it.

Wear gloves and some safety goggles bro. That vapor is no good for your eyes. And you dont want that shit touching your skin. Get some gloves at like autozone for dirt cheap. They sell skin tight rubber gloves for working with oil.

hi Luke ,like your custums. just FYI. If you are interested in removing your clone head sculpts from their helmets, after placing them in boiling water you can put a few drops of peppermint essential oils, let it soak in, It seems to break up the glue thats used without damaging the head sculpt!
