The Portuguese heavy metal stalwarts are back with their 3rd album. And what an album it is! It's not just in the title - it's definitely more aggressive than its predecessor from 5 years ago. We're confident that the darker, heavier and more evil heavy metal style, going back a bit to their own beginnings, will be a welcome change for many fans. It sounds very classic and fresh at the same time. They take you on a short but thrilling tour through the haunted house they've built here, where the spirit of a certain metal king is omnipresent, and the metal gods are watching from above. Quite a few bands tried it in the past, most of them with great results, but one thing's for sure: MIDNIGHT PRIEST don't need any gimmicks to prop up their music. It's a true feast of pulsating rhythms, erupting guitars with tasteful solos and screaming vocals that will pierce your eardrums like a dagger and cut deep through your heart. If you're into JUDAS PRIEST, MERCYFUL FATE, RAM, TRIAL (Swe.), PORTRAIT, WOLF, ENFORCER, STEELWING and the like, you will not want to miss this slab of pure and evil heavy metal!

Nicely produced. Not too compressed, has 80's vibe. Good stuff.
Production is my main complaint here tbh… Sounds pretty damn compressed to me, but quality on RUclips is always difficult to assess (mostly it’s quite bad 😅 on here) so I’ll probably give the hard copy a shot.

Sabbath since 71 with Master of reality.
Priest 75, Sad wings of Destiny.
Saxon 80 , with Wheels of Steel.
Queensryche, 84 with, The Warning.
Fear factory, 91 , Digimortal.
This album kicks more balls than are kicked in a football match. 63 now never lose the faith. It's the only one that matters.
Sad Wings of Destiny was such a great album.
And also every Black Sabbath record until Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die, which are just 'ok,' but not great.
I went more towards thrash, black metal and slam stuff later on.
But as a NY'er, I was huge into the whole NYHC thing, due to bands like Agnostic Front and Cro Mags.
I grew up in CBGB's, the Limelight, the Ritz, L'amour in Brooklyn.
So many great shows.
The NYC music scene is being ruined by pit gangs - large groups of kids that all wear a piece of clothing to indicate what group they're with, and they roll on their opps in the pits.
It's so bad that you can't wear bandanas and go into a club now.
So dumb.
I still go to the occasional show, but so many people just stand around and film with their phones that it's kinda boring. And you can't stage dive anywhere any more.
Digimortal wasn't released in '91 my man it was '01!

What a triumphant return to Metal the Painkiller record was for Judas Priest.
Crazy that they should release one of their best albums ever so late in their career, but Judas Priest released one of the best metal albums of all time when they dropped Painkiller.
OF ALL TIME.
The Painkiller guitar riff alone is LEGEND.
EDIT: Don't Break The Oath was amazing too, as was Melissa from Merciful Fate.

This is actually pretty good. I might have picked a different name for the band, until I heard the music. Then I thought maybe that wasn't a bad choice after all. And maybe out of respect as much as anything. Listening to this gave me a safe, warm and fuzzy feeling inside. lol. With not much disappointment. Songs were terribly consistent and well done. Especially the drumming.
