This is SO good! Seeing the TX-55 in action like this soothes the perpetual phantom pain… This MSX MG adaptation continues to be an exceptional effort!
I like to think that Metal Gear TX-55 was trying to reverse engineer Huey’s schematics of ZEKE and Sahlenthropus, which is why it looks less like the MGs we’ve seen before MG1
I like to think that Madnar preferred to base his work after the tried and tested D-Walker (essentially creating a nuclear version of it) rather than after a machine that didn't even work on its own (Sahelanthropus). Hell, in my headcanon Huey probably took credit for the miniaturization technology from Madnar's earlier work, just like he did with Sokolov's and Granin's designs.
I always like this metal gear better, the flaw of the old metal gears is that they we're too slow and large when it came to fighting smaller opponents. Big boss had it made more like a tank, has he had no desire to launch nukes as it didn't need the function. Entire point of Zanzibar Land was to make the world see him as a target.
Metal gear Rex was the improved version of all those previous metal gears because thanks to Hal help but he regrets the truth on what it was used for when he meet snake as for Metal gear Ray it was built to be universal on both land and sea then they realised that bigger nukes is too heavy so they decided to fit mini nukes in the launcher but they fail to work because you need a whole faster network to launch them in a series and got downgraded from nuke to fighting tanks instead but never used to fire a nuke
The Sahlenthropus was flawed because it couldn't stand without the power of Psycho Mantis, the TX-55 despite goofy looking it was able to walk on 2 legs

This soothes my brain so much, all I could think after MGSV is "If Sahelanthropus was already a thing, what can this thing do besides remind me vaguely of REX?" Be really fast. Like *scary* fast. Taking out all those combatants so quickly is impressive, and the jump height and run speed and even turning speed are terrifying. It even puts REX's Street Fighter Mode to shame. And knowing it's a prototype of Metal Gear D makes me wonder what *that* was capable of. These animations are glorious even if they make me ask if Club Penguin is canon in Metal Gear, thank you for these.
@@MitchellHammond Apparently these deep cuts were too deep for me, lol never knew about Penguin Adventure until you had me curious enough to look it up. Again, thank you for keeping the OGs alive
Never thought I'd see the TX-55 look so menacing without a major redesign. Seeing it slimmed down a bit and leaping around like a freak is exactly what we need. Love the soundtrack choice, by the way. You are clearly a man of culture.
It's funny to see this now, I was having a chat with a buddy of mine the other day about why having legs alone makes Metal Gear more dangerous. This animation demonstrates the versatility of MG's legs perfectly, and in a few ways that not even Rex, Ray, or Sahelanthropus did.
Many critique sahelantropus for being too "modern" of a design, however whan many fail to understand was that Sahelantropus was 24m tall when standing upright, Peace Walker in bipedal mode was huge, 25m tall and the ZEKE would be around the same height as those two... These machines were huge, probably in order to accomodate the nuclear launcher (Peace Walker) due to being made with parts form the Peace Walker AI-Weapons (ZEKE) and in order to be a large walking bomb (Sahelantropus). What many forgot is that Sahelantropus is the pinnacle of Granin designs, if we take a look at Granin's designs they are basically showing the Metal Gear REX, that's no coincidence. "Huey" Emmerich was given this designs and used them as basis that's why ZEKE is very "REX" looking, and that's the reason behind Sahelantropus's head and "folded" pose. The TX-55 was tiny in comparison 6.05m, it was a miniaturization of the concept of Metal Gear, an attempt at the concept by a new developer, one who probably never even touched Granin's designs, his sole interaction with the idea probably being the wreck of the Sahelantropus, the Battle Gear and Walker Gear. This new developer was tasked or saw the Sahelantropus as to big, and complex, as such he was drawn to the Walker Gear, he enlarged it and improved it's mobility, however armor to the legs had to be sacrificed, that's why there is little armor in the legs in both the TX-55 and Metal Gear D.

To expand a little more on my headcanon, I assumed Madnar probably became familiar with both Sokolov and Granin’s research since he too was a robotics engineer. My imaginary “Chapter 3” of MGSV would introduce Madnar as being XOF’s 2nd choice for a Metal Gear designer after losing Huey Emmerich. XOF wants Madnar to quickly come up with a replacement for Sahelanthropus after it was hijacked by Eli/Liquid, so Madnar starts research on what would later become TX-55 and Metal Gear D. This looks phenomenal!!! I find a lot of fan animations to be a little clunky/off (which is understandable given how hard it is), but this perfectly nails the look and feel. Huge props.
I have always believed tanks would have a place in a world of mechs. Tanks generally are designed to bring the biggest feasible guns to bear in a fight while having excellent frontal protective from peer threats. Tanks are NOT designed for knife fighting highly maneuverable targets at close range. In my opinion in the world of mechs tanks would largely look the same doctrinally. A tracked vehicle with a turreted weapon that has firepower superior to more mobile vehicles and a muzzle velocity that makes the vehicles main weapon almost unavoidable to dodge by mechs. Also enough armor/ an Active Protection System that makes frontal engagement by an adversary a very bad idea and you would create a niche for mechs as a vehicle designed to excel in urban use, flanking maneuvers, and using data linked indirect fire weaponry. This would allows tanks to realistically exist in this world as something that evolved alongside mechs where each has their forte. What are y'alls thoughts?
Thats how tanks work in Battletech and Heavy Gear. While in BT tanks are less mobile and easier to cripple than mechs they are FAR cheaper but in Heavy Gear the mobility favors the mechs even more and tanks are typically juggernaut armored units with more armor and guns.

Has something of Patlabor Movie intro the rogue AI Battletank hunt and Genocyber: Genocide ... good old memoris^^
I forgot how much the Genocyber soundtrack slaps.
This shows how important Solid Snake’s mission to infiltrate Outer Heaven was, destroy Metal Gear.
big boss had gone off the rails, although the world at mgs4's period wasn't the best, it would probably be much worse if metal gear hadn't been destroyed.
Looks amazing!! Been following for years, I'm excited to see what you have in store. Keep up the good work!!
WOW, I have never in my life though the TX-55 could be so INSANELY SCARY!!!!! 11/10, amazing work!
That little penguin baffles me, but for some reason, it just doesn't feel out of place. I feels like how the old cartoon Foxhound mascot looks, and I don't mind it representing Outer Heaven cuz of that.
GenoCyber battle theme x3 awesome
I love seeing the TX-55 in action. I know it was probably because of hardware limitations and inexperience, but it's a shame we never got to see it move until this.
Can’t believe this is one of the most recent metal gear but looks so old
This looks phenomenal!!! I find a lot of fan animations to be a little clunky/off (which is understandable given how hard it is), but this perfectly nails the look and feel. Huge props.
So this is what Outer Ops looks like in detail.
Incredible job! You are a treasure to the Metal Gear community.
Wow, such a good choice for music! Cant wait to see final version with sound effects!
Absolutely phenomenal in every way. An incredible effort.
That's honestly one of the best animation I have ever seen, the way that the Metal Gear moves is so smooth and incredible. You have so much talent man.
I’ve been following this project for years and I gotta say, it looks better every time I see it. The attention to detail in everything lore-wise is so amazing. Fantastic work!
These choices for music are amazing, gotta subscribe
This is so fucking dope! Really cool to see the finished product after all these years.
How do you stay on model so well? I had to look frame by frame to notice some parts were slightly off if it were a 3D. it's so smooth and well done that at first I thought this was stylized 3D. If this is all 2D drawings like I think then this is mind blowing to me.
The music was perfect.
I always wanted to see tx-55 in action. Thank you a lot!
Of course Metal gears are programmed in LINUX!
damn dude, this looks great! your artstyle is amazing. it deserves more views!!
Outstanding work as always! Cant wait for more. Well done.
Why does the beggining of the video remind me of that part in metal slug where you shoot the cliffs underneath the tanks.
i dunno
Truly no weapon can match metal gear
wow that got a lot more brutal than anticipated, but overall a awesome action sequence that's been animated very well
Anyone who's seen the anime that song is from would disagree with you. It's actually tamer than I thought it would be.
When you KNOW where this music came from, you expect a lot of gore....a LOT of gore
I like how you made also a reference from Penguin Adventure, the first ever video game Kojima worked
Holy shit you made this?? THIS IS AMAZING!
This is some really impressive work. Well done!
Silly, serious and badass. As Kojima intended.
This is absolutely gorgeous, I've always wondered how the TX-55 would behave and move in combat and this seems to fit perfectly
Yo the animation for this video is dope as hell plus it is awesome to see the og metal gear in action
this is great animation but all youve accomplished is making me want to watch genocyber again
my job is done
It's really cool finally seeing a Metal Gear in action as it was intended(on the battlefield) and why it's such a threat.
Animation looks great! And that hype Genocyber music works well for this
That really looked like Cortex Command.
You'd never thing that top heavy thing would be so deadly and agile...
So thats when dutch decided to start a mercenary company in Roanapur
The Genocyber soundtrack fits so well.
Just adding some SFXs, and it would be perfect.
Been following this project for a while now, absolutely amazing animation! Fantastic work. The level of detail in the movement is impressive!
Been following this project for years- I appreciate your work!
This is the most impressive piece of animations i have ever seen from a fan anywhere from any series
Dude i really love your art style i would love to see more
God this amazing animation just wants me to see a remake of MG1 and MG2.
And I'd loved it even more if they fulton extracted you to help develop the cutscenes for it.
Those other guys just needed the penguin to tell them what to do!
Awesome man you’re really incredible this is so cool!! I just stumbled on your videos and loved them I read the posts on your community tab and am sorry to hear people have been disrespectful but please don’t get discouraged keep up the awesome work. I can’t wait to see the finished product!!
I like he obeyed Geneva Convention unlike me in MGSV
God Damn! I can't wait to see more of what you're cooking!
Solid Snake sneaking in building 2 wearing enemy uniform gonna be best and funniest part. 😗
Yeah I can't wait to get to that part honestly.
Ohhhhh I recognize that Genocyber OST from anywhere.
I’ve seen this part of your animation for years now and I was wondering, were those guys part of the resistance forces against Outer Heaven?
They're just a regular rag-tag group of mercenaries. Do they want Metal Gear or do they want to destroy it? We'll never know, but they basically exist simply for a western style stand off.
@@MitchellHammond Thanks for the answer, yeah I’ve been wondering about that for awhile. Also, I liked how deadly you depicted Metal Gear would be if it were to fight any regular troops. For a game series that basically says MG is the be all, end all of warfare, you don’t usually see it fight anyone else other than Snake or Raiden. In any case amazing work! I hope you finish Metal Gear 1!
@@halofly3 well it is not like combat and warfare mgs is realistic
If the TX-55 really had that level of agility, Snake did the right thing in destroying it while it is idle and without pilot.
The penguin is a deep Kojima cut.
Fantastic vision and execution
Excellent nod to the Sony KX14 monitor 👏😁
I always get nervous when I hear the Genocyber theme playing. 😅
Awesome animation!
Genocyber OST when...
