Suggest getting some blocks for the tires. Also after I fixed any of the wood cabinets I would coat them in something to waterproof. Can’t wait to see more progress. 🎉

Good idea! We are ripping off the front box and redoing a lot of the water damage now.

Great Project, I have a 01 Mesa which is the same size as yours except I don't have the slide out. If you're having trouble finding parts, try Coleman pop-up parts...they have almost everything. Good luck!

Awesome, thanks for that tip! I'll check them out

They only way to stop mice damage is to absolutely take the canvas off.

Awesome. I am converting a coleman Utah to hard sides now. I'm deleting the bed slides . I also have dinette slide I will be engineering that part to still function with the hard sides.
Let me know if you have a problem finding the broken bar that holds the bed and dinette hoops I have all 3 in perfect condition. My camper didn't have canvas so converting to hard sides keeping original roof .

I debated going the hard side route myself, but settled on staying with more room from the slide outs. I’d love to see how you engineer the dinette slide! Also, let me know if you’re willing to ship the bars. I’d rather buy from and support someone else doing the same than a company.

@@maplemandan I sure can ship them you can have all 3 or only the one you need . I don't need them at all.
I am in central Florida I'm currently at my off grid farm 50 miles from camper I will be going back to that location in about 7 days . Thoes parts are yours if you want them and any other parts you might need involving the bed slides ect.

Good luck with the restoration. when I watched your first video I saw the license plate on the car and it showed that the video was two months old which put it somewhere in January. as I’m watching this at the beginning of March. I assumed you would have filmed this in the fall, till I think in your third video you mentioned that you were going through a warm spell and there was still no snow and that you were in January. I have a 1999 Coleman redwood which is similar to yours but a smaller model with a king size bed on one side and a double on the other side. My Canvas is still in great shape as we make sure to double cover the top over the winter. Water infiltration is your worst enemy. I’ll be waiting to see your next videos sometime in the spring I assume. Mike from Montreal.

Hey Mike from Montreal! We are only about an hour South of you here in VT. We had a really odd winter and had a ton of warm weather. Then it got cold again and I stored the camper in the barn. Its getting nice out and I'll be getting back to restoring this camper in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I bought a Coleman Fleetwood Cheyenne a year ago, just getting around to start turning it into a hard side no-pop-up! Using the existing roof. I paid $1500 for mine, but better shape than yours. Still will be a great camper when finished though!

So do you still have this Utah? And have you had to rebuild the roof yet?

Why don't you bring it into your garage to work on it? I Would buy a tarp to cover the enter thing.
