  • In this video I show how to crochet a beautiful, quick and easy lacy scarf using single crochet crochets. I combined two different yarns for an interesting, sparkling affect! You can use any yarn and hook of your choice. You can make your scarf any length and width you want.
    I used three skeins of Merino Silk Cotton by LionBrand (now discontinued), category 41, 50% merino wool, 25% silk, 25% cotton. 150 grams, about 500 yards; and Bumbo Moonlight, 98% acrylic, 2% polyester, 100 grams, about 500 yards.
    Crochet hook size I (5.5 mm)

    This scarf is creative and lovely! I love that it's made length-wise, that way my uneven edges are much less visible. Thank you!

    Hi Olga. Such a beautiful color combination and stitch. The brown tones always shine in crochet and knitting. I hope you and your boys are well. Take care. 🌻💕

    Combining the two yarns made a beautiful scarf. Brilliant design idea. Your work is always a pleasure to watch. Bless you for sharing. Maybe it is just my poor hearing, but, even with my AirPods in and the volume up, your soft voice was difficult to hear every word. 🙏🏼✝️💜🇺🇸

      A lot of practice will make you be able to change tension as you wish . You can also have different sizes of crochet hooks . The thinner the hook the tighter the project.

    • @OlgaPoltava
      @OlgaPoltava  6 дней назад

      Hi! I'm not sure if there is anything specific that might be causing it. This could just be a matter of practicing and getting better at controlling your tension.

    I don’t think I’ve seen the attachment to the previous single before… why do you do that? The scarf is beautiful! 😊

      Stitch marker is what you are referring to? She explained further at about 6:58. To make sure she knows exactly where the beginning stitch and the ending stitch of each row is without counting. Hope that helps 💜

    • @tonifannin4947
      @tonifannin4947 6 дней назад +1

      @ No…I was meaning when she inserted her hook into the previous single crochet, then proceeded to go into the next stitch to finish the single crochet and repeated this across the row. Hope I’m making sense 😏😊

      @@tonifannin4947 okay, I understand. There are lots of variations of single crochet. This was a surprise when she started her scarf. I am a beginner, somewhat, so this specific variation I’d not seen before either. I’ve been working on a kitchen towel using the extended single crochet stitch, which is different, so when she threw in that extra bit, I just thought, yep, there’s another. If you index on RUclips ‘variations of single crochet stitch’ there’s no telling how many will appear. Crochet has turned out to be a serious adventure in learning something new for me🥴. Her scarf turned out so pretty. Adding that additional sparkly yarn was perfect. 🤩 Gotta try that one. Enjoy👵🏻

      Doing it this way creates a fabric that is a bit thicker then if just using regular single crochets, and the ribbed effect is more pronounced.
