In regards to the moon base: I think the problem is that, when docking, part of the base briefly clips into the terrain, causing it to react violently. I’ve had this problem myself, and I think the only way I was able to avoid it was to make my bases more clustered together instead of longer, as that creates less of an elevation change. I mostly use KAS flexible crew tubes nowadays, which doesn’t seem to cause the same problem, probably because it doesn’t move the module itself.
that moment you cant kill your kerbals because it makes us all mad, so you just kill a bunch of reusable boosters instead. Man I am hyped about this Mars station!!! I cant wait. get it done now. RIGHT NOW.... K cool thanks
So i did some research into the shielding in ksp, it takes the density of aluminium, so you could go ito the configs and change it to the density of a high in hydrogen polymer. More realistic and saves a good bit of weight.
I've had quite a few requests to do that, so I reckon yeah I'll be naming them! Would love to see you doing some RO stuff, I hadn't realised you'd started uploading again!
I think your issue with docking to the lunar base is not actually the crane; it's the fact that you are docking a rather heavy module to a point far away from the center of mass. The resulting shift of said center of mass is something the physics engine doesn't deal particularly well with. Try docking to a different docking port if you are still having issues there! I know it won't look as good, but at least it will work (If I am correct, that is)
I really can't find anything about this online, and you seem to do it as well in ksp with every launch; why do you roll the rocket 90° after launch? Why isn't it in the "right" position before lift off?
@@vortifyne oh, right, my bad. In that case, i have no idea. I never do it in ksp, didn't even notice this guy did it, I'm not sure why they do it, sorry
Suggestion for Mars - don’t bother with trying to make a HTHL (horizontal takeoff/horizontal landing) aircraft, because Mars’ atmosphere is too thin for any such aircraft to be a useful SSTO. That said, if you have the Breaking Ground parts, you could use solar panels or RTGs to power a big, low-speed science plane powered by the Breaking Ground electric motors. As for SSTO flight, a better option would be a more conventional VTVL rocket-powered craft, likely using methalox propulsion (one thing to potentially look into would be to use the web-based Generic Engine creator to make some aerospike engines based on the M-DEAN concept - which basically uses an aerospike nozzle’s much greater heating a benefit rather than a drawback by means of a dual expander cycle similar to that of the RL-10).
Hey man! Been a while since I’ve seen a comment from you :p I don’t know if you saw any of my 24h stream but yeah a HTHL SSTO most definitely didn’t work so that’s not a route I’ll be going down. I’ll have to have a look at the M-DEAN concept, thanks for the recommendation!
@@Carnasa it’s a case where I’d been a lot more busy relatively recently than before (started my first job back in April), and also slightly burning out on KSP content for a bit. Glad to be back, though. On a different topic, I’m curious if you have plans for a Mars surface base - if you do, trying to scale up Ingenuity to the point it can actually lift things (ie., making a electrically powered helicopter to fly base parts around) would be an interesting thing to try. Otherwise, you could duplicate the crane tank.
how silly that you've had two crews go up near the moonbase and both haven't been allowed the luxury of spending at least the weekend on the station. has it even been visited by any kerbonauts at this point?
I know you're an Rss player but what's your thoughts on the last main ksp update and development mainly being focused on ksp 2, and what are your current thoughts on ksp 2.
Is multiplayer possible in ro? If so it would be really cool if you could do a series with other youtubers where you compete and even collaborate on projects

Hey do you know what version he’s using?
This mans going to end up motivating me to get to Duna, at least in Stock. So impressed with the intricacy!
When I last played KSP I was getting ready to build a pre-assembled startion to send to Tylo.
Congrats on 1000 discord members!!!, I'm excited to watch this episode and future episodes
Epic, well done. Try planting a flag near the launchpad that you can target to land at on recovery
Dude you literally have the best looking ksp I've ever seen
New Carnasa vid: gets released

Damn this makes me want to fire up rssro again! You should name the freighters individually. Or, have you already done that? Anyway, good stuff!

I love it when people say, "But that would have been the smart idea"
I feel like that’s fast becoming a catchphrase of mine :p
I just realized, "Smart A.S.S" sounds pretty funny if you say it like a word and not an acronym.
yea lol

side note, you should make KK work and just make landing pads next to the KSC, land on those, It would be cool af

Will you design a new mars lander? Or use the one that you used previously.
Keep it up man! awesome.

looks like that moon base is permanantly cursed lol
