There is another major difference between the two. White sugar is heavily chemically processed which can harm your health in the long run, and it has no nutrients except for the calories. Jaggery is not chemically refined and has all the vitamins/minerals that occur naturally in the sugarcane plant, so other than the sweetness, calories/carbs it also supplies you with micronutrients.

Very nice explanation! There's also the point about jaggery being less refined and having some micronutrients etc which white sugar doesn't.
Btw, some people think brown sugar is the same as jaggery - unfortunately that's not true though. Brown sugar is basically white sugar, with some of the stuff discarded during the refinement process, being reintroduced - mainly for the colour.

During intermittent fasting can we have some items made with jaggery, will it affect our weight loss in anyway.

To get the same level of sweetness of 1 tea spoon of white sugar, we need 1.5 tea spoon of jaggery. Also the yellow jaggery is loaded with chemicals. Give it to any food laboratory. It will fail as a safe food
