Hi, do you have an alternative for that thing that prevents it from.rotating at the first part of the video? I can find it in any hardware store i went too.
@@almontejuan ok thanks. Needed to ask. I bought 2 of these. Waiting for them to come in. Glad I know this now before I get them lol. Does the key need to be in the locked position? Or does it just need to be in the key-hole?
@@djb2046 nope just in to hold the pins together but also by keeping the cylinder inside the housing body(shell) the pins won’t fall out if you take the keys out.
Great job:) question you said you had the hole premade. I am learning about tools and so could you please help me? Would I need a drill? Also where can I pick up this lock. I had a similar one in the previous apt I lived in because it was congregate living and now I am living by myself for the first time since 2010:) and would like to have this again. Thanx:)
The cam washers are what’s most important to figure out. Mine came with two variations, 90 and 180 degree turn. For those who are anal about how the key slot sits, figuring out the cam washer placement is key…no pun intended lol
It was my first time installing a cam lock and you made it go smoothly. Thank you!
I am grateful for the clear demonstration, I found it very helpful. many thanks
Glad it worked out for you 👍🏻
poor guy holding a camera with one hand and with other hand he is installing a lock good job
Naeem khan lol yeah is hard but I make it work. Thanks

mine keeps sliding in and out of the placement. the key area does is there a way to tighten it?
Thanks!!! Made it easy!
Do you need to have the key in the lock during installation?
Yes
@@almontejuan is there a reason behind it?
@@djb2046 well it’s because there are pins that could fall out and it can be a bit annoying to put them back in

My cylinder is lose when I put it in just slides in and out do I need anything else to help that
How thick is the material
Wat does it lock into wen u lock it ..
It uses the frame of the cabinet which is pretty sturdy
What is Tha lenthg of Tha cam lock?
Yeah, that guy gives a poor explanation about the wood thickness related to the length of lock cylinder.
Where is the other half of the installation?
The cylinder I mean that put the key into
