I use a spade bit to make the barrel hole and buy the correct barrel. I make a strike with a piece of wood or metal L plate ~ Depending where I am placing the lock. 😉 I would find it hard just to guess where the middle of the off set hole was going to be with the regular bit. But nice job all the same.
Ridiculous!! That IS NOT how it should be done. You should never drill that much material out of the back of the door! Just buy a longer cam lock, they are very cheap. Make sure you measure the door before you order
