Joshua Forner, 35, was accused of using inappropriate force and turning off his camera before another officer arrived for backup on Aug. 8, 2015. The internal investigation found Forner entered false information on a police report six days after the arrest. Then, in August 2016, the 10-year veteran of the force gave inconsistent statements during the department's internal investigation, according to Dallas police officials. The officer was suspended for 10 days in 2008 for lying about a traffic accident that year. Forner initially told an accident investigator that he wasn't in his patrol car when it was hit. He later admitted that he accidentally hit a pole at an east Oak Cliff apartment complex.
Does not invalidate his point even if those statements are true. This would be a deflection of his criticism. And can we trust the internal officials on their processes if they can't even take back his gear promptly?
