  • Make your North American pitcher plants (Sarracenia) look more presentable by learning how to prop up your pitchers. In this video I demonstrate a revised, more effective method than my previous video on making your Sarracenia more presentable. Does your North American pitcher plant have leaning pitchers? While its normal pitchers to eventually lean over it can detract from the look of your plant. This is particularly so when there's been heavy rain or winds where pitchers can lean at a greater angle making your plant look less presentable. In this video I demonstrate how to prop up the leaves on you plant using easy to source materials (fishing line and bamboo cane) in order to make your plant much more presentable. I also explain why erect pitchers are more beneficial for the health of your plant. In this video learn how to....
    - insert the bamboo cane securely
    - how to fix fishing line to the bamboo cane to stop it from slipping
    - how to tie loops and knots to arrange your pitchers in the most presentable way.
    - appreciate why using natural bamboo and the inconspicuous fishing line COMPLEMENT the look of your plant while supporting the leaves effectively.

Hi there and welcome from beautiful California! When you say flytraps I'm assuming that you're referring to Venus Flytraps ? The winter dormancy period for any carnivorous plant such as Venus Flytraps and North American plants should be respected and the plant allowed to rest. That means not feeding it during winter. Its only in spring when the plants awakens that feeding should be considered. ....happy growing to you .....😊
