I have to say, this song All around my hat, is actually my favourite song from the album. So I definitely wouldn't skip it. That said I do prefer the original to Quo's version, so I can see why its not a Quo fans favourite. ✌️
Wow, I'll be honest and say that I didn't expect anyone to comment that it is their favourite tune from the album! But there you go, everyone has their own tastes and preferences. Thanks as always for watching the video and commenting on it.
@VantagePointrocks you're welcome mate. I think maybe I didn't word it correctly. All around my hat is my favourite song, from the bunch of songs that Quo ending up covering. So by that I mean I really did like the original Steely Span version, long time before Quo covered it. To put it another way its not my favourite on the Don't stop album, but my favourite song from the bunch of songs that Quo covered and put on Don't stop. My close second would be When you walk in the room, but I prefer the Paul Carrack version of that.
The Quo-period from '94 up to '98 was bland, music-wise. But some songs were really awful, this one being a prime example of those. I sometime wonder, what audience they were trying to reach, as such stuff p*sses on the fanbase they had.
Yeah I never understood the Rossi argument that they had to branch out with their music and broaden their fanbase in order to survive. To me it seemed to have the opposite effect by alienating the dedicated fanbase they had.
@@VantagePointrocks I'm wondering did it something to do with trying to gain friendly radio style songs. It was around the time Radio 1 started to stop playing Quo. So maybe Quo thought they need to bend their music to be what would appeal to the media of the time. I mean if we look at Sherri dont fail me now, it really does sound like a song of its time, even now.
A real honest review appreciated 👍
No problem, and thanks for giving the video a watch, cheers.
@VantagePointrocks no probs my friend keep up the good work

Up there with one of the worst covers Quo have down.
Unfortunately you are very correct with that statement.
It is shite ! I truly hate all the Covers albums !
Yeah it really isn't up to much.
@@VantagePointrocks It was such a relief when Under the Influence was released in 1999 ! This was a return to form, the Quo i have always loved !
A truly awful song. I’ve nothing more to add.
Yeah, it is a bit of a low point for the band.
