      @@carriesgardeningchannel856 I planted them is a spot that gets about 3 hours of bright sun in summer. I thought that would be enough since they're used as houseplants. I see they also have "Splash Select" and a series called "Confetti". I think I'm going to try those this year. Thanks for responding!

      Hi, Thank you! You can wait till the plants get larger to transplant them that's fine. I hope that answers you question. Yes, polka dot plants are cute to look at. I have 2 volunteer seedlings that came up in a container with a spider plant in it. One is the red spotted one and the other is the pink spotted one. They are so cute to look at. Happy Gardening! Hi Dana Stone, You will want to water your polka dot plants when the soil feels dry. It's not something you can put on a watering schedule, you'll have to feel the soil and watch the plant. I hope that answers your question. Happy Gardening! Carrie

    Hi! Great channel! I bought mine at a garden center and it was pretty small (about 4" round planter). What I've noticed is that the leaves are continuously falling off and drying out despite regular watering and misting. I'm wondering now if I should have repotted them right away. I noticed that the roots are sticking out at the bottom of the pot. I'm scared to repot it though as it looks fragile. What's your recommendation?

    • @carriesgardeningchannel856
      @carriesgardeningchannel856  5 лет назад +1

      Hi faye, Thank you! My first polka dot plants that I ever had where bought in a 3" or 4" container too. Check the plant for spider mites. You may need a magnifying glass, look for webs and tiny little things moving. Do the roots look healthy? I've never had one where the leaves where just falling off but it sound like maybe a root problem or pests. Also did the plant bloom? How big is the plant? It may need a bigger container. These plants are know for roots coming out of the bottom of the container, that is normal but I would still check the roots anyway. Also how much light is the plant receiving? Carrie

      @@carriesgardeningchannel856 Hey Carrie, thanks for the tips. So far, I haven't seen spider mites. The roots seem healthy. It's sitting by a west-facing window sill so it gets direct light in the afternoon. I also mist it once a week and water it once a week as well. 🙂

      @carriesgardeningchannel856  5 лет назад

      Hi faye, Your welcome. It could be getting too much light. Try moving it once and seeing if that helps. Also did the plant flower? Is the soil feel dry when you are giving the plant water? Carrie
