Excellent video and excellent trailer! What’s the Captiva tow rating? I thought they where 1.5 or 2 T maximum Towing the digger and trailer would be overloaded I would think?
Yes you're right it's only rated at 2 T. Originally I bought the digger just to work on my own property but people see it and want jobs done. The last few months I've been helping 1 week per month clean up silt after a bad cyclone on the East coast 200 kilometres away so have had to upgrade to a ute rated at 3.5 T towing. Cheers.
@@dinomite_diggers3453 yeah fair enough, wasn’t saying it in a bad way I was just wondering because here in Austrialia that’s what they are rated at and was wondering I’m in the same boat The digger and trailer for me is over what my ford territory is rated to tow (2.3T) so like you I will have to upgrade mine to tow etc These videos really have me wondering about the 2T rhino machines I’ve owned the 1.2T rhino and that was good for its size The 2T machine looks far far superior Cheers
@@Drew_peaballs_128 Yes the 2T is a much superior machine. Better built, more stable and much smoother to operate. At the start I bought the 1.2T Rhino with a 3 cylinder Yanmar but my place is quite steep and rocky and I was either going to break it or kill myself on it. The best thing I ever did was swap it for the 2T machine which was a demo model with 50 hours on it. Every time I operate this digger I feel pleased that I didn't stick with the smaller one.
Hey mate thanks again for the info you gave last time i think we will look at the same set up as well thanks. Not sure if he had any in stock to try but hope he does get some in soon? Also what was the cost of the trailer and who in Palmerston North made thanks.
Hi Dan, the trailer was built by HCS Engineering in Palmerston North and cost me $6000. I'm really impressed how well this trailer is built and how good it is to use. HCS are actually planning to use this video on their website to promote their trailers. cheers.
@@dinomite_diggers3453 okay cool thanks mate was that price including gst too? Im trying get prices as sean has told me for full package with all atachments 35K so looking about 40k + 🤔😁 how is the digger going so far!?
@@danielratapu3436 Gosh things have gone up in the past few months since I got mine. If you go to Digger Trailers / Manawatu on Trademe and look for the one made by HCS it shows it better than their website does. But the price is about $700 more than what I paid, it did include GST. I certainly happy with the digger so far much better than the XN12 I got originally.
I wanted a small digger mainly to develop my own property and bought an XN12 but it was too small and unstable for what I was trying to do as my place is quite rugged. Fortunately the dealer had a Demonstration model XN20 with very few hours on it so I traded up to that and have never regretted it. I'm the only one who drives it so hopefully will get a good long service from it. Cheers.
@@dinomite_diggers3453 yeah it looks like it’s to long out the back in the video. I think here in Victoria your only allowed a certain length between the towbar and the back of the trailer
The trailer deck is 2450mm x 1500mm plus the bucket box on the front. Cost me $200 extra to get a tailgate with it which was well worth it. Makes the trailer so much more versatile. Rated at 2500kgs. Cheers.

Wonderful
Hello , so how is this digger working out for you ?
I wanted a small digger mainly to develop my own property and bought an XN12 but it was too small and unstable for what I was trying to do as my place is quite rugged. I’m not sure how you would go loading it with the book sticking out that far. Vic roads might pull you up on that one I don’t know.
I've had no problems here loading like that although I think it looks worse in the video than it actually is.

how much does that machine weigh?
It's an XN20 so you'd think it would be 2 tonne but it's actually a bit lighter, about 1880kgs - 1900kgs.
Hey sorry but also what size and rating is the trailer too? thanks again :-)
