'Khe Sanh' is 1978 song by Cold Chisel about a returned Aussie Vietnam War vet (which is interesting, because there were no Australian troops in that actual battle). It's quite a rambling song with some saucy lyrics, but it builds up to a final chorus "Well the last plane out of Sydney's almost gone..." and at sporting club social nights, wedding receptions, birthday parties, end of year trips etc it is usually played full blast at some point late into the evening and it gets LOUD. Of course it's massive sing -along popularity has heaps to do with Barnes' power ballad voice, & the great music for it.
@New Falconer Records While no ground troops were involved in the Khe Sanh battle, there were Australian personnel involved in the siege, that were the crews of bombers operated by 2 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, who flew close air support missions in the area. @@citybeatdisco19 Some well considered points there, and I like your breakdown of the song verse by verse. Firstly Welcome back Charlie & her sidekick ;) glad you got the channel back. Un-Australian was meant to be something you said when someone was doing something, or behaving, pretty badly. Reading the comments, it seems your channel it wasn't meant to go somewhere, so I guess welcome back. I agree, this is the best lamb ad in years. And, most importantly, can anyone confirm that the meat industry has moved the focus of their ads away from Australia Day to a date in February? If so, this is the beginning of the end for Australia Day being celebrated on January 26. I am not going to argue the pros and cons of celebrating Australia day on Jan 26, but it would be interesting if the meat industry moved away from Australia Day to sell lamb. Are they weighing into the debate? Logically, the meat industry could nominate a different day for promotional activity for each protein producer, so they could open up a number of "meat days." The uncoupling of Australia Day from "Lamb Day" might mark a subtle shift in corporate Australia. If large Australian businesses are going to start supporting a less-offensive day for our national celebration, then I am all for that. Give me a lamb chop.
I'd only call someone Un-Australian if they did something absolutely terrible to someone else. It's not meant as a way of offending anybody's culture. Rather it's going against our Aussie code of conduct. Everybody's welcome over here. We'll respect your culture if you'll respect ours, live and let live. She'll be right, so long as it doesn't break any of the laws.
There's so many things in this ad, including not actually seen in it. Some of it is a "call-back" (but the opposite) to original Lamb Day advert theme, in 2005. Googled, to find 1st one, & guess who's react vid from 2021 showed up 🙂ruclips.net/video/jTkZEtxWewQ/видео.html A few references in new one refer back to a few bits in original one, but in now in positive way instead. By the way, Sam did the to-camera Lamb for Australia Day ads for about a decade, but then one he did, with Lee Lin Chin (from SBS TV) also in it, in 2016, got over 600 complaints & therefore style was changed to the much more "getting together" humourous ones. (tho that one with Lee Lin Chin was humorous, but 600+ people took offence at different bits in it. Of course the original 2005 ad was also being a joke, but because of Sam's delivery style, some people don't see it as such

Canadian club ad is Un-Australian, beer is Australian or staple in Australia.
Charging $1 for tomato sauce is unAustralian. Everyone Aussie would agree on that.
Welcome back, for real this time.
Lamb prices at the moment is un-Australian
Most grocery prices are, so too energy and rents
Being un Australian means you are doing something should not be doing . So it’s un Australian it’s an insult to that person. To get there act together.
Firstly Welcome back Charlie & her sidekick ;) glad you got the channel back.
Un-Australian was meant to be something you said when someone was doing something, or behaving, pretty badly. Australians pride themselves on our country being built on mateship & a "give you the shirt of their back" type mentality. So anyone behaving in a manner that goes against that is / was Un-Australian. Now days it's over used to mean you are doing something "I "don't like, and a guilt trip to get people to do what YOU think is right.
Very clever add though with some subtle things thrown in there that takes a few repeat watching's to notice.
If you don't like vegemite Un-Australian
@@vampyresgraveyard3307 lol I actually don't like vegemite :) but I love Promite
Saw this ad a few days ago. Funny
Does anyone know meaning of the stairs (seen @3:04 & 3:29)? @3:04 a guy steps on bottom step but stops.
So stairs to leave the Exile BBQ, & go back? On first glance/quick watch thought it might be a ref to an airline lol
What is guy coming up out of the water a ref to? In the panning shot near the end, so much is going on/ref'd.
Does anyone know what make & model that yellow car is? It looks similar to a Leyland P76 Coupe. (I'm not knowledgable enough re car, to figure it out from that shot). Of course "yellow" is colour of a "lemon" so why I thought P76.
(the wagon P76 was a great car tho - for some)
0:45 "Taking the mick out of the term 'unaustralian' which is, lets be honest...."
*oh I totally imagined Rob saying "Unaustralian" ironically, then disappearing.
Haha I did sort of disappear on RUclips!
Yay... worth the wait to watch this under Rob Reacts rather than Tesla 3 CEO... didn't want them to get my view or 👍... 🤣
Loved this react, love that the Lamb Industry decided to take the mickey... that's so very Australian!
Whoo Hoo! 🎉🎊🍾🥂 What a great New Year Rob! and Kudos to Australia Day! 🎉🎊🍾🥂! Good 'ld Sam Kekavitch!
Cheers mate 😁
I must be un-Australian. I have no idea who Sam Kekavitch is. Great ad though.
Disregard, it's an AFL thing, that explains it.
I suppose I am.'unAustralian' ...
I love watching football and ice hockey!
It's great to have you back Rob and great to see Sam back too. Rob did you know that Sam played AFL for North Melbourne.
No I didn't know that I always thought he played for North Melbourne in the VFL
@@peterlyall6789 yes I know but I would have to explain what the VFL is
That was a cool ad, totally agree Rob.
$1 for tomato sauce is the worst Australian thing ever
Good to have you back
Rob you're Un-Australian 😂
Poor bastard is a prisoner of his majesty.
Yep, because I'm English! 😁
It's about taking the piss out of each other, that's what Aussies do. It's a 'friendly' insult.
Im not sure how 'friendly' it is sometimes
@@RobReacts1 don't try to read too much into it. I find that people from other countries often take it all too seriously. I don't take offence if it's said to me, it's generally a joke.
Excellent ad.
It's UnAustralian to care what pommies actually think about Australians being UnAustralian, and all those foreign immigrants your talking about all 270 ethnic groups are Australian and pride themselves on conforming to all the Australian stereotypes , it would be UnAustralian for them to do otherwise .
Many of them don't. Some refuse to learn the primary language and many have stronger loyalties to their homeland than the land that's adopted them
@@melissabarrett9750 i also use the words satire, irony, sarcasm and self-deprecating , lighten up for goodness sake your sounding unAustralian .
I think youre missing my point
I have never really understood the point of these lamb ads, maybe that makes me unAustralian? Oh well, I do think this is a clever ad.
Yay!! Your back where you belong...😊👍
It's a really good one this year but I've only seen this full add once on TV but some shorter versions have been on more often. I'll be having some Lamb chops next Thursday 26/01/23 🇦🇺 I wonder if you can be un-British?
any one who thinks unaustralian is a nothing word is a little offensive to me, i am australian and as such i live by a set of rules that are only Australian , wow i cant believe he said that ! you are proud of your country because of its unique set of standards, this is why we just made the Australian Citizen application 10 x harder, you dont know the national anthem well come back when you do, cant speak english well come back when you can at least ask for a pie at a shop without holding people up wile we decypher what you are asking for, and last but very not least , do not come to my country with other country rules like "my wife must ware a hood and be bashed for asking to drive a car or education . That my friend is Unaustralian !!
I thought we'd lost ya? Couldn't find any of your content 😊
Love the humour! Sam Kekovich Aussie rules player who hated training!
Theres only 2 things that make you a real australian
I never seen this add and I live in Australia lol.
Welcome back Rob. Good to see you back. 😊
There's so many things in this ad, including not actually seen in it. Some of it is a "call-back" (but the opposite) to original Lamb Day advert theme, in 2005. In which Sam Kekovich does to-camera bit, ranting about people doing "un-Australian" things, & having a go at them. Googled, to find 1st one, & guess who's react vid from 2021 showed up 🙂ruclips.net/video/jTkZEtxWewQ/видео.html
A few references in new one refer back to a few bits in original one, but in now in positive way instead.
Of course the original 2005 ad was also being a joke, but because of Sam's delivery style, some people don't see it as such
The unAustralian term was thought up by the Liberal party.
As a vegan I wonder where I would be banished to? I think most people would think that's un Australian.
Be vegan. The sane among us don't mind. That said, too many vegans want to ban meat-eaters from being able to eat meat which is not a way to make friends with us
The more lamb we eat the more Dingoes are killed so we can kill more lambs to eat. Or Everyone in could stop eating lamb, I'm not saying all other meat because that's up to the individual.
I'm unaustralian, I was born in Tasmania 😂
I'm definitely not eating babies..er...I mean lambs on "lamb day".
Pension day, yesterday I couldn't make up my mind what to have on Australia Day, Lamb shanks or a rack of Lamb, so I got both, & I'll decide on the 26th if not before. Lamb 🤤🤤
Lol lucky you can afford lamb

Rob, is there such a thing as Un-British? What does that look like? 🙂
Eating food with spices, drinking coffee, pronouncing words normally lol
We are too multicultured now in my opinion

What was the joke with the fully-clothed Indian dude in the river? Was it some kind of play on the whole bathing in the Ganges River or..? 🤔
What am I doing this lamb day?
"Minerva Foods Australia, owned by Brazilian Minerva S.A. & the Saudi Agricultural & Livestock Investment Company, acquire Australian Lamb Company for $400 million"
Probably not buying lamb unless it's local 😅
I would generally have to agree that the word “unAustralian” isn’t really a thing, and is generally a bit ridiculous, tbh!
Yeah, Lamb Day!! 👍 I think it meant, we are not American, we care, but ok!!! 😃😂😆🫂
Hi Rob, check Nick Kryrios playing Novak Djokovic for Exhibition match for Charity, not all bad, in Melbourne yesterday! 😁 A genuine worth a watch, the funniest tennis match I've ever seen! There is lots of video highlights, but you can check it out on Fox I'm sure! 💯👍
So these ads went from celebrating the now taboo day to being called lamb day???
What is UNAUSTRALIAN is how much a lamb chop cost. All our good stuff is sent overseas. I can't afford to eat lamb, and I'm a farmer ! Sucks !
When we were kids, It was a cheap cut.
You could have finished that off with Poof! & disappeared. That would have been a fun ending. Ay.
very clever commentary on the concept of 'Cancel culture' of which 'UnAustralian' is just a varation...
No like, no dislike...

Lamb roast ... nom
Being "Stine" is having a good laugh at yourself!
If you pause it where you labeled the 'debate' check out the background and notice what the actors are wearing, one in a Wallabies top, so love of sports, a tradie or a blue collar worker, a white collar worker, the bogan (sitting down), not too sure what the guy on the far right is doing but just a normal guy I guess, it just shows we're made up of all walks of life. But look at what is spray painted on the signs, wall and couch haha. Attention to detail here which the lamb adds do extremely well every year without fail. I think Un Australian is a term mainly used to take the piss but there are some serious examples of it which would more so be community expectations such as violent riots, rebranding COON to CHEER (which I don't buy anymore, if you're reading this COON!), plus many more real un Australian examples, but you get the picture.
I'm in America at the moment a d they don't seem to eat lamb. It must be un American
