    theres well over 1,000 mech variants already; the LAST thing this game needs is just mechs. We need a complete overhaul of the faction war mode that no one plays, new game modes, and some sort of progression system.

      YES, but... They will never do it. I don't believe they can fix Faction War... In fact, Faction Mechs, highlighting the styles of combat that each House does, would have been 1,000 times better than the terrible legendary mechs. They can't seem to be able to fix Match Maker either... Sad really...

    In Table top you had std LRM, Artemis targeting, thunderbolt ammo. In the SRM's (srm2) you also had Inferno loads that add heat for a short duration. tbh, I'm surprised that they haven't added them sooner.
    According to lore, the Red Reaper is as follows:
    BL-X-KNT Black Knight "Red Reaper"
    Based on a BL-9-KNT chassis, this personal ride of Reginald VanJaster was created during the Word of Blake's occupation of Solaris. The standard weaponry was removed and replaced with a Large Shield and Large Vibroblade for hand to hand combat, while five Medium X-Pulse Lasers inflict huge amounts of damage in close quarter combat. For long range firepower, a single Heavy PPC paired with a PPC Capacitor are used. The whole 'Mech is protected by thirteen tons of light ferro-fibrous armor. Fifteen double heat sinks are available to dissipate heat.

    • @Elit3Nick
      @Elit3Nick 5 месяцев назад +1

      There's no thunderbolt ammo for LRMs. What you might be thinking of is Thunder munitions, which are minefield missiles. There was also Follow-The-Leader missiles, which dealt all of the launcher's damage in a single location, at a large accuracy malus.

    • @ArkLord001
      @ArkLord001 5 месяцев назад

      @@Elit3Nick I think the systems you might be referring to are iterations made in video games of Battletech whereas I'm talking about Tabletop.
      There are mechs none of the Video games have ever seen that I can recall like the Wasp and Stinger or on the other end of that scale, the Goliath and I get why but still as the most iconic mechs (Wasp and Stinger) in Battletech lore that are seen in most writings, never appeared in the games oddly.
      I dunno why. Maybe they considered them "Too Robotech looking"

    • @ArkLord001
      @ArkLord001 5 месяцев назад

      @@Elit3Nick and No, I'm not mistaken about Thunderbolt Missiles. They were developed primarily for Solaris 7 arena combat in 3053 according to lore and were restricted to the RT/LT of the mech but were not widely deployed / used because of their bad effects on the firing mech. When hit they caused severe damage to the mech and had extreme heat issues.
      Our gaming group wrote Tech Readout 3050 for FASA back in the day and did it's play testing which was then edited and published by FASA by one of their editing teams who quickly nerfed our mech designs because on Tabletop, mech design did not have "hardpoints" but rather open slots that you put equipment into and with the release of the Clan UAC20's, a 100 ton mech could carry 3 of them and obliterate an Atlas in a single alpha volley (This was the Original Rhino where it had an UAC20 in each arm and 1 torso mounted like the Mad-9r's AC5).
      Thunderbolt ammo came in LRM 5, 10,15 and 20 loads firing a single missile and hitting a single hit location on the mech.
      www.sarna.net/wiki/Thunderbolt_Missile

    • @FunkThompson
      @FunkThompson 5 месяцев назад

      @@ArkLord001Thunderbolt =/= Thunder LRM. There were all sorts of variant ammos over the years, but Thunderbolts were a whole other launcher, firing larger, singular missiles in comparison to the multi-missile volleys of LRM launchers. Thunder LRM ammo was the minelayer variant of standard LRM launchers. I think there were some Thunderbolt variant ammos that did various things, but don't recall a mine-laying variant for the Thunderbolts. There was the Arrow IV FASCAM so it wouldn't surprise me to find such.

    • @FunkThompson
      @FunkThompson 5 месяцев назад

      @@ArkLord001Google "Battletech the Unseen." Many of the early mechs were, well, either stolen or mixed up in licenses that the creator had not granted, and thus vanished after many lawsuits. While FASA didn't exactly "steal" these, they were basically stolen from Robotech and a few other mangas of the time. The Wasp, Stinger, Archer, Marauder, etc. And the companies making the video games had no desire to get caught up in these lawsuits, which went on for nearly 15 years IIRC. Even some of the reworked artwork was sued for being too similar to the original, stolen artwork.

    Unable to stunlock with the plasma cannons? Boo!! I want to melt my enemies!! With the changes to missiles and the addition of the Thunderbolt missiles, I really think they need to bring back the score modifier for AMS. Maybe not as strong as it was, but give us something. I generally use laser AMS on light mechs and have to choose between firing my weapons or shooting down missiles quite often because of heat concerns. This directly impacts my damage output and thus my score.

      and as such if the IS plasma rifle were to be added in a similar fashion to what i'm thinking it would be just another addition the IS group of PPC weapons, considering the plasmarifle is damagefocused than meant for causing heat .... and you already have plenty energyweapons that do that

      I'm thinking with the utter dominance of the IS Binary Laser Cannon in MWO that PGI is trying to balance the Clans by giving them a weapon in a similar vein.
      I do take issue with this, as the Binary Laser Cannon, as good as it is, nearly invalidates large lasers entirely on just about any design.

      Technically it's still more than the gauss rifle but at longer ranges the projectile speed still isn't "literally hitscan" so it's not like the full burst will hit your target, and HAGs having relevant amount of heat makes them inferior to C-UACs at those ranges.

    While 6 weapon hardpoints plus the shield is too few, going all the way to 11 plus the shield is absurd. Going to 8 weapon hardpoints would still give it as many weapon hardpoints as the BL-6-KNT and the BL-7-KNT-L while still getting a shield on top of that.

      @@alexwest2514 they changed heat dissipation specifically on clan laservomit and double heatsinks to be less effective and changed the dissipationration on coolshots imo significantly enough ... lasers are fine as they are ... if you still have issues cause you purely focus on ballistics without adding backupweapons to your build ... that's a you problem ... especialy since ballistic ammo has been recently increased per ton ...
      good counterargument by the way .... NOT!

    i dont get the light AC2/5. AC5 are already trash, why do we need a more trash version. Only thing I see is some lighter mechs being able to boat them. Now they just need to implement the melee

      melee is not gonna happen as pgi no longer has an engineer with knowledge on the cryengine
      i disagree with you on the ac 2 and ac 5 ... AC 5 pairs very well with er ppcs
      AC 2 while requiring multiples of are still good ranged firesupportweapons in MWO than compared to the battletech tabletop ...
      i run a triple rac 2 and triple ac 2 annihilator and that build dishes out damage well over range and does a good job when going in to clean up ... "but facetime" yea that simply is the downside of such weapons but i take it

      @@MrTBSC AC2s are fine, its the AC5 that blows. LONG time ago, AC5 were great, they fired a lot faster than they do now. Unless you are boating them its just a lot of meh. too slow to fire for the damage. I may also just be annoyed that some of my favorite mechs from yesteryear got the nerf bat when they changed the AC5s.

    My question is will any of these fancy toys be added eventually to MW5 to give players options? Because as of right now the only things they keep adding is new campaigns and one new mech type, but no new weapon content...and while there is a lot of options out there mod wise. Not everyone wants to install mods, and not many people can RE: people playing on console if there are any that are still playing it. I feel like since theres still One DLC left maybe they could put a huge weapon content update to MW5 with its final DLC sendoff?

      None of these weapons are anywhere near the Timeline for MW5 so no... Course PGI doesn't seem to give a feck about Canon... So maybe...

      @@steelshanks1265 I mean yes, but you as a player can continue playing until basically your face turns blue. Going well past clan times etc. The amount of weapons you're able to play with feels limiting. Especially if you're just playing the mercenary endless loop on your own.

    Last two legend mechs sucked big time they have to do something better and it's a pity this game is way off balance
