i love the rendition. great work and stylization on every band members part.
Great
Wow very nice !!! Wish there were more jaco tributes, but that music is not easy to play !! Lol
Sounds great.
Great version. I like that the band is not copying the original, rather putting their own musical personalities into an interpretation of a marvellous tune. I don't think Jaco or Joe would approve if someone just copied their studio version, as you can be sure WR would never play it the same as the record!
Nicely done
I like this. very very good!!!
2:24 and 3:02 Gerald's having a hard time playing that riff so I don't feel so bad. I saw Peter Graves and Word of Mouth band play Havona in 2003 in Reading Berks Jazz fest and the bassist Jeff Carswell didn't even attempt to play the riff.
I like the chords Joe Mass is playing. Don't recognize them from the original.
@Paulonbass75 Both those guys are amazing so should be able to play that riff no problem. Plenty of guys on youtube play it.
Would have liked it if the bass was tighter, but then again its easier to criticize.
kilbo98 Yeah. At the same time, the percussionist laid down some wicked chops.
Oh noo, they mixed it in a "Love Boat" version ! Pitifull °°)
Ewi sound like it--!
Tribute bands are just that... helping people to remember just how great the real band actually was. These guys, while being competent, don’t hold a candle to Weather Report, which is sad. They don’t have to compose the song, all they have to do is perform it faithfully to the original, which they did not do. The original Havona has one of the most blistering, technically difficult bass parts I have ever heard and this guy was not up to the task, not by a long shot. He just coasted by all the technically challenging parts. What a letdown. Sorry, my opinion.
You play it.
@@LucilleBrawl17 so I guess you’re the generation who just “settles”? So sorry for you, you’ll never know epic music and musicians. Oh well, what you never know won’t hurt you...enjoy your vanilla, tapioca life.
I like this. very very good!!!
