My main issue with the lo-fi VFX of the game is the texture warping being hard-coded into everything, jesus christ was it disorienting as fuck and not in a good way. I doubt that's ever gonna be optional too since I recall a Steam forum thread where one of the devs said they were literally built into the materials of *everything* Edit: Wait, am I going crazy or does the footage have none of this?
I know what you mean, there were one or two points when I first started playing where the warping gave me motion sickness too. It wasn't as bad for me once I turned off all the filters in the options menu, maybe that might help?
Never seen anything of this game, very good review. As always i really like your style, the comedy and how you use meme´s. Also like how good you can explain your points and make them clear. Thanks again for the vid
I watched a dude named CJUGames play this and I found it captivating. There's something about the PS1-style games I really like. I think it is just the vibes the games have. The sound effects, the weird graphics, and the grunginess all just work for me. It feels very liminal and just evokes nostalgia mixed with the creepiness of the games. 616 Games have some decent ones in this style, though they are pretty hit or miss. I started keeping a list of indie game developers I really like so I can keep up with new games in this style.
Shame the game stumbles near the end, but the strengths are intriguing enough that I want to give this a shot. Thanks for highlighting a game I wouldn't have checked out otherwise.
I think that there is a horror game that incorporates both interaction and story almost seamlessly: Lobotomy Corporation. It is a management game, that resembles Cabin in the Woods and SCP. As the manager of the facility, it is your job to extract energy from abnormalities - many of which are based on fairytales, urban legends, and so on. For example, there are several based on Wizard of Oz, such as the Woodsman, Scarecrow, and so on. I don't want to spoil the narrative of the game, but you get snippets of lore from researching the monsters, from certain days, and meltdowns. To me, Lobotomy Corporation is the best horror game that I played, because the atmosphere, mechanics, and storytelling gel together. While some games like the VN, Tsukihime might be superior for delivering pure story, specialized games like that inevitably fail at being great at all things. LC is an unique masterpiece, because it excels in almost all ways. Even the game's tedious length makes sense, because of the facility's true purpose and how it is designed to achieve it. A word of warning: the game is extremely difficult. You will need to develop some Korean RTS agility toward the end.
I can see that. I played Lobotomy Corporation for a couple of hours years ago. I love the concept but the gameplay didn't grab me. I've been wanting to go back and give it another go for a while now.
The game has a sequel...or two, rather, each with different forms of gameplay. Library of Ruina is about setting up your character skills and playing them correctly. I haven't played Limbus Company, since that one is a gacha. Library of Ruina will spoil the true ending of Lobotomy Corporation, but might have gameplay that is better suited for you. It depends on whether you like dice and cards.@@monotonallizard
wow, i haven't seen this game since it was just a demo/early access in 2018 ! i don't know what to say, so i'll just wish you happy new year ! thank you for the video
Found your channel once again. (I do remember your Hitman 1 video.) And to my utter surprise youtube is still keeping potential viewers away. In their eyes you sir strayed to far from the "Mr Beast" formula ) As for the game it has amazing aesthetics.
Sir, I demand an apology for you using the term toxic masculinity unironically in your Men in Black game review when your own country, Australia, is itching for naval conflict against China against all sense, mercy, or common decency.
alright, out of the 20-30 channels that are doing really good retrospectives, yours is the channel, whose videos i look fwd to the most
Best video on the game, thanks for covering it! I had only seen the Escape ending before deciding I was done. Had no idea there were actual answers
I was not expecting to learn so much about flamingos! This is a great video
