We built this off-grid washing machine so we could wash our laundry better and not use power. This pretty much washes a full load just like any washer.
May I make a suggestion? Instead of going electric with it go out and buy a 10-speed or a 12-speed bicycle and use the rear wheel as the gear mechanism to turn the barrel and you can still change gears for a higher rate of RPM or a lower rate of speed for washing
Nice job. I built a similar contraption and hooked up a pulley and belt to it just before the crank handle and have a stationary bicycle hooked up to it. Now I can exercise while doing the laundry.
You could have put a motor on it somewhere. Anyway it’s a good project. I would like to make something which can be done by hand and if there is electricity just run it with a motor or attach a drill that will spin the drum.
No you don't want to use a drill to spin the drum on that washer because it is not strong enough to do that and you will burn the drill up anyway because they will get hot and catch on fire 🔥
