I personally would say that the AWE Axleback is about 1.5x - 2x louder than stock, producing more pops and crackles, making it sound how it should from the factory. Interior sound is slightly louder and more pronounced, but the microphone couldn't pick up the difference.

It's wild how good the interior insulates the sound on these cars. I just removed my two resonators and the car sounds mental from the outside, but inside it's barely noticeable.
Way too good, always opening the windows to hear my intake
Perfectly formatted video, thank you
I installed this plus a VRSF catted downpipe on my 335i and it sounds amazing. Such a good combo.
I'd love to hear how that sounds!
I’ve heard the catted downpipe with the full awe exhaust suite, with the performance mid pipe.. it’s definitely a bit louder than I’d like. I’d be interested in hearing your set up! Any drone? Cold starts super loud?
Throaty and burbles!! Glad you are stoked!
High quality video. Like the format!
If I'm honest stock sounds pretty good!
Yeah but you can't hear much from the interior when stock
@@BrownBacha i cant seem to differ the two exhaust from these interior clips as well so is it work getting an exhaust so someone else can hear the difference?
@@TehDutchStar with just the axleback exhaust it is difficult to notice a difference from the inside. I ended up doing a resonator delete as well for ~$150 and now it sounds perfect!
Thanks for the step by stepped video. 👍🏼
great video!
Nice vid!! Still waiting on mine :(
Luv'n mine....
Fantastic video. Went with a buddy to test drive a S4 now i need an axleback. Might actually remove a resonator- turbo quiets doen the system so much
An axleback completely changes up the car and makes it feel how it should from factory
🔥💯
I was once looking for this bm, its hard to find one, so then i bought the 528i instead😂
Enjoyed the video! What size tips do you have on?
The biggest that AWE offers. I believe 102mm
Woah when u started it with stock exhaust only passenger side pipe emitted exhaust ( just like MY 340 ) and btw I can’t stand it. I wish BOTH pipes would emit exhaust all the time. Then when you started with AWE exhaust on car exhaust then came out of both pipes! How did you do that? Is there an easy fix you did?
That is because of the valve system in the stock muffler, hence why your car starts up in comfort mode and does not have the same tone as when it is in sport mode
Does the axleback mean you've still got the two resonators in place? Because it sounds like it's just a backbox mod, much like the MPE. If they are still in place, then get rid of em, you won't regret it ;)
Yes, the axleback exhaust retains the two stock resonators. I am planning on getting the non-resonated midpipe later on when I get bored of the current sound
I was actually about to ask that.
Axleback is only the muffler so he’s still running stock midpipe.
Where did you get your axle back I can’t find one I only see just the Full Exhaust
From AWE's official website. There is an axleback option and an option to get the axleback muffler + the non-resonated midpipe (catback system).
Very helpful video, which exhaust variation: resonated or non resonated? Stock down pipe?
Resonated and stock downpipe. I ended up doing a single resonator delete as well to get the perfect volume for a daily imo, but that is not in this video
@@BrownBacha great, thanks for the quick response. I think I’m going to get the same exhaust for my m340
@@steelcowboy2751 It's a great exhaust, youll definitely enjoy it!
@@BrownBacha just getting rid of the stock tips is worth the money. Lol
@@steelcowboy2751 hahaha it is, they look terrible!
How d you enjoy the sound? Debating about getting the axle back and pairing it with a down pipe down the line. Or wondering if what everyones says is true about pairing a down pipe to their cat back system is overkill? Thoughts on it? Debating between awe and remus
What size tips are these?
I love the sound, but will probably end up getting the midpipe to make it a catback system. I'm not going to get a downpipe as it is my daily driver and do not want to fail emissions. I think that pairing the catback system with a downpipe would be overkill for me, as I wouldn't want to disturb my neighbors every morning. If you are certain about getting a downpipe, I would get that first, then an axleback, and then possibly the midpipe if it still isn't loud enough to your liking
@@matthewdasilva5871 They are the 102mm diamond black tips
BrownBacha thank you for the reply man! Enjoy your weekend!
@@matthewdasilva5871 no problem, glad i could help. And you too!
is there a tune on it?
@@calebshull3902 nope, stock tune
Does anyone know what splitted spoiler he has I’m looking for one for my 2017 340i

I have AWE axleback on 2017 440i coupe. Like sound but drone from 2k-3k really bothers me.
I don't mind it, only hear it if I'm pressing on the gas. When cruising and maintaining the same rpm, I don't hear it
Why exust comin out only out of one pipe first image?
That is how it comes from the factory. I believe there is a "valve" (or something similar) inside the stock muffler that only allows exhaust fumes to come out of one side until the car is put into sport mode, which would open the "valve"
Thank you!!
@@BrownBacha greatly appreciate thanks
Did you add the mid pipe as well?
This video has the stock midpipe. I did end up doing a single resonator delete afterwards, but that is not in this video.
Idk man they both sound just about the same either way......maybe a little difference but from the inside sounds exactly the samE. Nice car though!
Yeah the axleback system has almost no sound difference from the interior, but from the exterior it is slightly louder with a deeper tone and more crackles and pops
Next time let the engine warm up before you try any of these. Turbos can blow up
My corolla is probably faster
We gon' have to see lol 😂
@@BrownBacha Yeah I’d pay to see that! 😂😂😂
Does this come with a valve?
No it does not
