I wanted to add this comment for a few things: Firstly, I do want to make a correction: Crash Time 2 and 3 did not come to PS3. This was a mistake when I did the research, so I am sorry for the error! Secondly, Crash Time 5: Undercover is finally coming to Steam, and it adds back the missing online multiplayer from the original PC version! Let's hope the other games will be next. store.steampowered.com/app/1687700/Crash_Time__Undercover/
after more than a year there is literally no games published by uniquegames. crash time 2 is listed without any developer and published by Meridian4, whoever they are. third installment is listed as published by Kalypso and developed by Synetic, but the other one is listed than should be based on their page [they're selling only "HEADUP GAMES COMPLETE" bundle for more than 600 euros (!!!) which don't even include any Crash Time game]. this is total mess.
Perhaps the most underrated aspect of Crash Time 2 is the graphics. The graphics are incredibly realistic for 2008. I remember when I discovered this game in 2018 (10 years after the game’s release) and the first gameplay video I watched, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I remember thinking “Wow, why does this game look better than GTA V?”. Despite coming out the same year as GTA IV, the graphics in Crash Time 2 manage to look miles ahead of nearly every game from its era. Honestly speaking, this game could actually pass as a PS5 game. The reflections, lighting, models, shadows, and just about everything else in this game aged extremely well. I can’t believe how smoothly the 360 runs this game. Absolutely mindblowing that hardly anyone talks about this. Even the later entries don't look as good as Crash Time 2 for some reason.
And it had to come at a cost. I remember the game ran horribly on every PC that I tried when I was a kid. And render distance was really low. Playing CT2 for a few minutes breaks the illusion as it's very obvious that the buildings you see in the background are just prerendered graphics put on a skybox, and the actual buildings in the game world tend to pop up suddenly. But other than that, I agree, the game does look insane, especially when you look at the damage system, every single thing on a car can be bent, or it can simply fall off. The shaders are also nice, someone really did their job well if it comes to rendering. I think it does look better than GTA IV in some places, too.
this game is my entire childhood, it's such a shame that it is forgotten now, and it's also sad that Synetic just closed down, needless to say i still love this game, and i hope one day it will just blow up in popularity, i know it's never gonna happen, but a man can dream.
I love how I can find a video about almost every niche game I experienced as a child. I had so much fun with crash time games, despite how janky they were
Cobra 11 is still popular in Czechia, too. We have full TV series dubbed in Czech. And Crash Time 3 had a full Czech dub from series, too! It is my most popular game from series, thanks of that. The rest of games was only with subtitles.
@@darexas1602 Yes, what a nostalgia! I still have physical copy of it in my collection. But Highway Nights (aka Crash Time III) had a better writing and open world freeroam.
Thanks for these 15 minutes of pure nostalgia! I had ridiculous amounts of fun playing these games. I think the review is absolutely fair. Yes, the games struggled with shortcomings, but looking at it today, the driving (and damage) physics and the car feel have actually aged quite well. Due to the nature of the game's engine, it could never live up to its potential on X360, so the PC was clearly the platform of choice. Synetic has always been known for being very modder-friendly, one of the things that created such a big and lively community. It's a shame the world never saw multiplayer on PC in the later games like the Syndicate. Especially with the weapons like EMP and spike strips, the game really felt like Mario Kart with real cars.
The physics and damage could make it an optimistic future. Just remember the crew members of that TV show does have that experience with the immense risks of those stunts.
Great video! Crash Time is definitely a series that would deserve to be more known. I have actually gifted Crash Time 2 and 3 to a couple of friends before, since they usually go down to 2 or 3 bucks during Steam sales. Also thanks for the small cameo at 12:40, lol.

As a german myself, i have very good memories from playing AFC:11 Nitro and Crash Time, but the other game from the publisher Synetic, World Racing 2 was the best one from the Developers, so much that it gets a Re-Release on Steam.
Just found out that CT5 was recently released on Steam. Fingers crossed that CT1 and CT4 will be available soon too. I’m German, and these games were a big part of my childhood. I still remember playing them on my old Windows XP PC with the lowest settings, barely getting 20 FPS… good times.
I played all of the games from them, I didn´t play CT1 but rest of them I did!..I had a CD of Cobra 11 Nitro and CT2, then Steam Version of CT3 and CT4 and 5 I had on CD again. Cobra 11 Nitro was my first PC game and ever :D
Correction: Cobra 11 was also quite popular in Poland, which can be proved by fact, that games from the Crash Time series also had their own releases with Polish translation.
Thanks for adding this! It was hard enough to find information on the series being I don't speak German, and also since none of my friends who helped me are Polish, they probably didn't not know about its popularity in Poland.
@Alex R. That's not true. The TV series was broadcast intermittently in more than 120 countries, including Andorra, Angola, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, the People's Republic of China, Ecuador, Estonia, France, Greece, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Canada, Croatia , Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Middle East, Nepal, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Austria, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Czech Republic, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, United States and Vietnam. It's so cool that somebody outside of Germany still talks about these diamonds.. I remember really enjoying the games, especially Burning Wheels and Highway Nights, and creating stories to then play on multiplayer sessions :D I am just surprised you seemed to like Syndicate the most - I like the idea they had, but I was so underwhelmed by the graphics and handling back then.. These games are loved here in Poland among people born in the 90s. Used to be sold for dirt cheap on release. I got Crash Time 2 in 2009 for 19 złoty which equals 4 euro and it delivered a 60 euro experience. Back then I played a lot both Burnout Paradise and CT2 - yeah I could see the budged was lower for CT2 but didn't feel like it's any worse. There's so much passion put into this game it actually holds up in terms of fun with Burnout for me. Maybe it's the fact I could finally play a racing game set in a faimiliar enviroment unlike all these racing games set in america which felt too exotic and attached from reality. Old low budget german games have some special charm - Spellforce and Gothic RPG series are great aswell, enjoyed them much more than major blockbusters like TES: Morrowind or Neverwinter Nights from the same era. So many talented devs I'm sad it's just Piranha Bytes that survived to this day.
In middle school my friend got Crash Time 1 on the 360, 4 player split screen was SO FUN in that game. I never got to try any of the others, I’m tempted to collect all of them and play them when I have the time
The re-release on Steam made me play two of the games again, cause I picked up CT2 for 0,99 and CT5 for 8,99. Probably a wish list thing. As corny as the humor was and as bad as the graphics aged, I can't help myself but admire how fun these games were. You just started the game, pedal to the metal, finished quests, dodged traffic, rammed the hell out of bad guys. It was a simple life. I'm starting to see why I like Need For Speed Hot Pursuit and Rivals so much, because of the play as cop addition. Anyway, thank you for this video. Me and my old friend always played these games when we were children and had plenty of fun.
I NEVER heard of this series. I was looking for roms for my PS3 and stumbled upon Crash Time 4 & 5. Maybe I should check them out since they're up for grabs now.
Thank you for this amazing video! When I grew up I watched the TV show from time to time but never got really into it. At some point, while playing on the family PC years ago, I found these games. Being rather young, I didn't understand anything at all but it was just great fun to roam around and act like being a member of the Autobahn Polizei. It's fair to say that these games made my childhood awesome. I have recently played through CT 3 after I discovered it on Steam. Twas' great to live the good memories once again. It's amazing that even after nearly two decades, people still enjoy the games as much as I did and still do.
I should had played these games especially when I was a kid i used to watch every season of Cobra 11. One of my favorite TV shows of all the time. I feel dumb that I've watched the whole series but never played the games. It's sucks that the show itself is not popular enough and it deserves more.
You should see the community for the game made by synetic before crash time! World racing 2! There are over 100 maps to download for it! Many dedicated german fans. I played it for a long time, just exploring maps :) Downloads available on games revuer. Just checked it out. Wow. Actually there are over 200 maps available!! Incredible. A truly great game that released during a time too many racing games were released. It did not win against need for speed underground 2. but I really loved it. Adjustable driving physics between realistic and arcade. Force feedback support for my joystick. Splitscreen. Was a lot of fun.
Oh man the hours i spent in Crash Time 2 as a kid. I love this game and i recently bought the 3rd one on steam, weirdly the 3rd one runs very badly on my PC despite it being well over the recommended specs. I will never forget getting into Formula 1 race car in CT2 anx trying to go as fast as possible for as long i could without crashing...
I have on my Steam account CT 2 and CT 3 on Steam. CT 5 will be out this year, I'm looking forward to it. Let's hope that the new publisher continues to exploit this series.
Unique Games released a Synetic classic, World Racing 2 on Steam, fixed a lot of problems with the game. From what I gathered, they are planning on releasing CT5: Undercover, but RTL (the TV station that owns rights to Alarm Fur Cobra 11 show) didn't want to cooperate with UG, so the names of protagonists, dubbing and other stuff has to be slightly altered. They said they might add Freeplay mode to CT5, as well as they are creating an online mode featuring couple of cool modes. Mod support via Steam Workshop is a confirmed feature, too. There are still couple of big fans of the series, and we want to revive these games, because of childhood memories.
I'm happy that i played the "first racing game" crash time 2 and then other crash time games (3, 4, 5 and then autobahn pursuit and nitro later). I remember that I wanted more crash time 2 than need for speed underground 2 because i didn't know how to play properly. Personally, I like more Crash Time 2 because of the third person camera movement while im drifting, I don't like the camera from crash time 3 and because i played more CT2 than other CT games, i guess Crash Time 2 will be my favourite of all time. I've just learned how to drift without nitro on crash time 2 and 3. But that doesn't mean that I don't courage people to use nitro, even nitro is fun to use it while drifting. The ridiculous part from autobahn pursuit was to drift a formula c11 and somehow i managed to drift perfectly. During my first gameplays on crash time 2 was kinda hard to complete the tasks, but what i really loved to do is to use the tank and crush all vehicles, sometimes when you have low fps you can glitch the physics and you might have a chance to make the vehicles fly a little bit or even to go under the map. I also destroyed even the inactive npc vehicles from city precinct where are a few cars parked on the right from the car selection such as "semir bmw 3.0 police car style, b 32 mercedes police style car, a porsche police car". The soundtracks from Cobra 11 nitro to crash time 5 are really awesome for my heart and childhood. Idk if you know that flash game called "drift runners", but there's a song that i heard before i found out about crash time autobahn pursuit and it was "Down Fast" (Cash Time Autobahn Pursuit ost - ruclips.net/video/oH74Q9LGTR8/видео.html&pp=ygUWZG93biBmYXN0IGNyYXNoIHRpbWUgMQ%3D%3D). Because I heard that simillar song again on Crash Time 1, I really wanted so badly that song. 🥲
As an American kid in 2008 1st time playing crash time 1 on the Xbox was a pretty fun time then i got the 2nd one and then was sad to not be able to get the 3rd one
pure nostalgia... i remember i was playing ct2, 3 and 5 at the same period of time.. for me best one was ct2. It was in russian language🤣 And tv series cobra 11 was in poland too
I gave up trying to get Crash Time III to work properly on Steam Deck and resorted to emulating the fourth game in RPCS3. This will hopefully be a temporary solution until this game is properly optimized, or they release the fourth one on Steam and get that to work on the deck.
I managed to get the third game running on the Steam Deck, but it's missing music and FMVs. I tried looking up a walkthrough online and found virtually nothing.
crash time 5 and 4 looks outstanding just needs a bit of graphics update and more cars and some npcs walking around and a bit more dynamic environment we have a beautiful game!
Dang I was about to make a video essay about Crash Time, you were faster. Anyway the video is amazing. P.S. Will you be mad if i do make the essay about Crash Time? lol
Does completing missions in the hardest difficulty required to unlock every track and vehicles for quick race? That was the case in Nitro and CT1. What about CT2-5?
I've aleays thought Police Chase wasn't made by any of the Synetic ex-employees, but was a scam game where they ripped the cool looking original models from Crash time to not make their own ones.
Can anyone help me with modding crash time 2? I would like to modify car stats but I cannot find the right tool program to open Car files in game file. I just need to increase Rev limiter speed and few other charakteristics of vehicles
Crash Time games had pretty great atmosphere. As far as I know, no other game had that kind of style of city design. It was pretty comfy and gives me 2000s Europe vibes. Wish other games had that same "artstyle". I played Crash Time 2 when I was a kid. When you are little, even a mediocre game feels really fun to you. Tried 2 and also 3 some time ago and I understand its obscurity. Part of the charm comes from just messing around on open world I guess, which I don't do it anymore. I just rush through the campaign mode with games these days.
Oh man, you took the words right out of my mouth. This is exactly how I feel about the game too, the city designs in this game feel like home even though I've never been to Germany. Crash Time 2's map is my favourite and extremely nostalgic, I probably still remember a few locations for those Madcop parts.
@@rlfpotatoking9253 Yeah same here. Also I feel like nostalgia plays part in that feeling as well. Played Crash Time 3 some time ago because I couldn't when I was a kid. 3rd one also had that "comfy" feeling, especially with night sequences but it doesn't hook you up as much. It is probably because I didn't spend much time with CT3. I just rushed story mode and finished it. When you get old, you don't have much patience or creativity to lurk around open world maps
@@rlfpotatoking9253 Checking back some CT3 videos again. Man that vibe never gets old. Really takes you back home. I wish I could go back time and relive that atmosphere again. Funny how Germany feels nostalgic without being in Germany
@@alpersoylu00 Yeah, playing/watching a video of the crash time games just makes you feel warm inside - I don't feel like that for Crash Time 5 though, probably because it's like a different take on the series. Even simple game mechanics like the bright red beacon you have to stop into, or the floating transparent finish line are extremely nostalgic.
Man.. where do I begin ? Before Beam.NG drive.. Crash Time series are just way ahead of it’s time, the traffic AI, graphics and car physics.. It’s all there, It even has a little feel of Midtown Madness and late 90s / classic NFS vibes. There won’t be another new game like CT for time being.
I wonder if CT2 and CT3 has PS3 version as far as i know only 2 games that has PS3 release which is 4 and 5, the pre CT4 games only available on 360 and PC
@@GamerAlexVideos i never know that because looking at the history, even PS3 version of CT4 was released late behind the Xbox 360 and PC version, when CT5 released all 3 platform got a same released date Also at the time 2010 which is the first time where i know CT series (CT3 and 4) PS3 version of CT4 wasn't even released yet (as i mentioned above) the PS3 version of CT4 was released like 1 years later at 2011 and when i going to some storefront for example Amazon, CT2 and 3 was stated on 360 and PC only Also many trailers showing that CT2 and 3 only available on 360 and PC Idk if PS3 version of ct2 and 3 really ever existed, probably a limited released or something, man this franchise has very few documentation
I like the car design. You know which car it is but it isn’t licensed. The publisher from the first crash was RTL the producer of the series. And fun fact RTL made fun about gamers at the time in TV but published video games.

Just found your channel, games you cover and how you put it together is amazing. Thanks for the content !!
I'm amazed I still discover more 360 games that came out ages ago. I'll get the first two.
crash time 5 now has a release date on steam, july 25th 2024
Man I am surprised u covered this. Not many know this title pure nostalgia
I usually try to cover topics that no one else has done, so I thought it would be great to talk about Crash Time after I got back into the series!
@@GamerAlexVideos great:-)
this brings me so many memories
thank you for making this video, this game has been a big part of my childhood.
Thank you for the unique games news! Didnt know that!
oh, there's a glimpse of my mod when the "eleven-games" was shown! :3
You should see the community for the game made by synetic before crash time! World racing 2! There are over 100 maps to download for it! Many dedicated german fans. I played it for a long time, just exploring maps :)
Downloads available on games revuer.
I think DRIVER and Crash Time fanbase should merge, as there were so many damn similarities between the two series.
I remember playing crash time 4 and 5 on my xbox 360, it was super fun.
It would be cool if we get a remake on Crash Time like a remaster.
P.S: I played Crash Time, well the Demo of the second and third game. As I recall.
I Love the Crash time Series because, I saw all seasons from the popular TV show cobra11 in Germany,Im still Fan from it today.
🥲
funfact: in ct1 the chapter "traffic control" only exists on the xbox 360 version (used to be after murder at km 109)
Agreed me too hope to see back on steam this awesome series ^^
11:45 it was somewhat known also outside of germany, at least here in italy i've seen lots of episodes on tv in the past
I have played CT2 and CT3 300hours now. Still playing it 😂
I had no idea these games had a TV series XD I just had a game called crash time IV on my like five years ago, that's all I knew.
As an American kid in 2008 1st time playing crash time 1 on the Xbox was a pretty fun time then i got the 2nd one and then was sad to not be able to get the 3rd one
5:04 love the F&F music👌🏽 or never mind sounded like it
Thanks for posting this video reay helped...
C11 Nitro was my childhood game and i played CT 2,3 and 5
pure nostalgia... i remember i was playing ct2, 3 and 5 at the same period of time.. for me best one was ct2. It was in russian language🤣 And tv series cobra 11 was in poland too
Crash time 5 is coming to steam this year.
A fun mod I made for the games was for the trains to go mach 1, which made for risky crossings :P
i remember that. CT3 was it?
I gave up trying to get Crash Time III to work properly on Steam Deck and resorted to emulating the fourth game in RPCS3. This will hopefully be a temporary solution until this game is properly optimized, or they release the fourth one on Steam and get that to work on the deck.
The cobra 11 series is also kinda popular in italy,it has an italian dub too
nice video man
I've watched Cobra 11 years ago (i'm not German, but Dutch) and i liked CT4 the most...
This makes me want to try and get the engine of this game and try to get a crash time 6 game out
CT2 was my childhood !!!!!!!!!
Underrated video
THIS GAMES IS NOSTALGIC
And you know the best part? I've just found out that Cobra 11 Nitro works on Triple Monitors 😳
It's like the mafia of car games
Dang I was about to make a video essay about Crash Time, you were faster. Anyway the video is amazing.
P.S. Will you be mad if i do make the essay about Crash Time? lol
No, I wouldn't be mad. Feel free to make your video!
Does completing missions in the hardest difficulty required to unlock every track and vehicles for quick race?
That was the case in Nitro and CT1.
What about CT2-5?
Non of the actual open word racing games has the physics and damage model of Crash Time.
Driver + Burnout = Crash Time
7:12 lol they've precisely foreseen modern daytime running lights design for BMW which was introduced many years after the game's launch.
Was there even the real/official English dub/sub for Alarm für Cobra 11 show (not the game)? I'm just curious.
I've aleays thought Police Chase wasn't made by any of the Synetic ex-employees, but was a scam game where they ripped the cool looking original models from Crash time to not make their own ones.
this is basically Driver eurojank edition
so 1. which serie is the best?
2. is this game have replay feature after mission/race?
Hi Gamer Alex, do you know how to get CT3 and CT4 working on Windows 10? The game crashes immediately when I try to open it
Can anyone help me with modding crash time 2?
Same man
Oh man, you took the words right out of my mouth.
Only 2k views??? Wtf algorithm…
These games look fun, which is the best game in the series to start with?
My personal favorite is Crash Time 5, so I would recommend that one. However, Crash Time 2 and 3 are also good games to start with!
I wish there was another law enforcement style game on Xbox now a days
Very underrated series. Great physics, damage model and maps. CT5 is rubbish though
Where I can buy Crash Time I and Undercover?
You will have to buy the disk versions for Crash Time 5 Undercover, and the first Crash Time game. They are not available digitally.
Man.. where do I begin ? Before Beam.NG drive.. Crash Time series are just way ahead of it’s time, the traffic AI, graphics and car physics.. It’s all there, It even has a little feel of Midtown Madness and late 90s / classic NFS vibes. There won’t be another new game like CT for time being.
I wonder if CT2 and CT3 has PS3 version as far as i know only 2 games that has PS3 release which is 4 and 5, the pre CT4 games only available on 360 and PC
As far as I know, both CT2 and CT3 had PS3 versions. It was only CT1 that didn't release on the PS3.
@@GamerAlexVideos i never know that because looking at the history, even PS3 version of CT4 was released late behind the Xbox 360 and PC version, when CT5 released all 3 platform got a same released date
Also at the time 2010 which is the first time where i know CT series (CT3 and 4) PS3 version of CT4 wasn't even released yet (as i mentioned above) the PS3 version of CT4 was released like 1 years later at 2011 and when i going to some storefront for example Amazon, CT2 and 3 was stated on 360 and PC only
Also many trailers showing that CT2 and 3 only available on 360 and PC
Idk if PS3 version of ct2 and 3 really ever existed, probably a limited released or something, man this franchise has very few documentation
I would always concerned the crash time series to be relaxing to me.
Relaxingly destructive!
@@GamerAlexVideos yep.
Crash Time 1 especially had some calming OST so that definitely helps too!
@@rlfpotatoking9253 some stock music but I can digress
I like the car design. You know which car it is but it isn’t licensed.
The publisher from the first crash was RTL the producer of the series.
And fun fact RTL made fun about gamers at the time in TV but published video games.
