- Possibly the hardest superhero game ever released. But does that make it the worst?

Despite this being flaw for many, the idea of the player becoming better with each pratice is not only good lesson but also, in clever way, puts the players on the Silver Surfer shoes (or feets since he doesn't wear any shoes...you got the point).
One of the main themes explore in Silver Surfer stories is redemption and the hardships to achive such goal. Every one of his victories is also a tragic defeat (ex: He saved his home planet but was force to become Galactus herald; He helped the F4 defeat his master but was stuck on Earth; He was able to escape his prision but discover that most of the universe, including his own people fear and hate him for helping Galactus destroy so many civilizations). What makes Surfer a great hero is his determination, the fact he keeps trying to be better. With this gameplay, the players are put in the same scenario, having to experience defeats in order to achive their victory, with each attempt pushing them in wanting to improve in the game.
That's a very thorough way of looking at it
This and ducktales are the only two games I beat on nes as a kid so to hear it as one of the hardest kind of makes me chuckle. Battle toads and Shinobi felt way harder
Gamers back then were a different breed. Checkpoints and autosaves are taken for granted today lol
3:46 also check out his intro theme to Solstice on NES.
There is indeed no force in the universe greater than a Game Genie.
Might have to download and give it a try
I appreciate the well edited content and how clearly passionate and well researched you are. I hope you don't mind this one critique, but I feel the need to explain because it made the video hard for me to enjoy. Your verbal delivery feels like something akin to "up talk" with the lines repeatedly ending in the same, almost question-like intonation. I would find a more conversational or relaxed tone delivery to be more listenable. Maybe it's just me? Either way, keep up the great work.
