The winner here is Mike because he had an absolutely lovely day.
Mike puts off a vibe like every day is lovely. What a champion haha.
You can't take that away from him
Watching the task again knowing the end, Alex must have been so damn proud of what he said at the end of Mike and Lees run.
"I'm salty." "Are you, now?"
Definitely if Alex says "should I stop the clock" or "do you think you've completed the task" need to double check
@@I.dont.know14 Except all those times contestants were finished and Alex was just fucking with them
The reveal of bag on the first table being sugar not salt is an example of a really good plot twist, because when you go back and watch it again you start noticing all the little hints for what was really going on
Sarah’s look to the camera was absolutely iconic.
At one point Jamali also said it was sweet, just before Sarah realized it was sugar
That's what Lee was referring to at 4:49
I wonder if it had been enough to just pick up the bag of salt from under the table and put it on top of it. The task just says "put it on the table over there", it doesn't specify which one. The contestants just assumed it must be the other table because the sugar was laying on top of the first. Alex, you sneaky sneaky bastard!
That's what's so wonderful about this show: finding the loopholes!
No, because remember what it says: If it touches the ground, they have to go back to the start. This task can’t be done at all.
@@bubbledoubletrouble Returning to the starting point once is probably enough though. It touches the ground-> they return and on the next go they can pick it up, I guess. It doesn't say you have to return until it doesn't touch the ground anymore.
@@Alinor24 "If the bag of salt touches the ground at any point, you must return to your starting point."
This is strictly speaking irrelevant since it doesn't say you must immediately return only that you must. So pick the bag up, place it on the table without moving from where you picked it up from, and then return to your starting point.
@@ShiningDarknes Sounds right to me.
This is why we need to bring back the intercut contestant reactions alongside the tasks!
The set up is so simple, but the punch line is incredible.
It would be Mike, though, to have the most memorable quote from this task🤣
Well, no matter what, even if he didn’t, he had an absolutely lovely day.
Alex would normally enforce the rules, but when the team of 3 were throwing the bag of sugar and accidentally moved, Alex never politely ask that the team start the task again
0:24 children's TV presenter at work.
Did you mean "Children's TV Presenter"?
@@Kernel15 why did I say primary school teacher
@@OverWims In one episode Charlotte says "I don't need any more help to look like a primary school teacher". So I guess she's both: a children's TV presenter AND a primary school teacher.
@@jand563 knew I heard it somewhere
It's sugar o'clock, tick tock
The pure anarchy of this task is legendary.
First thing that came to my mind as I watched it: it's sugar, isn't it?
Taskmaster isn't about being fit or pushing yourself to the limit. It's about being clever and seeing the loopholes and I love it.
whats worse is that they didnt need to restart each time because it was sugar and not salt.
Unconventional solution: move the other table
That's the beauty of taskmaster, hindsight is 2020. That's what separates the weak from the legendary.
I like this idea! Clever
I'd say Lee and Mike were outsmarted by a bag of sugar 'pretending' to be a bag of salt.
Mike's comment at the end is very wholesome
Grass will never grow in that one particular spot ever again
Clover will
I'm not sure which I enjoy more: the task itself, or the incredible schadenfreude from Jamali, Sarah and Charlotte in the studio afterwards.
Ignoring the fact that the bag on the table was sugar, and people pointed out since the bag of salt started on the ground so they can't even start since if it touches the ground they have to go back to the start, I'm surprised no one moved the other table. Run over, pick up the small table one person could easily carry, put it next to the other then the salts right there.
0:57 You can actually briefly see the bag of salt here, which is a nice detail!
Loved the sneakiness of the taskmaster here. Baiting them with sugar. xD
RULE: "If the bag of salt touches the ground AT ANY POINT , you must return to your starting point"
FACT: the bag of salt ************STARTS ON THE GROUND************
The task is impossible.
by your logic they're not allow to leave their starting point at all until they ask Alex to put the bag of salt on the table
Yeah you have to put it back on the table, then start.
@@NeoFreezz True. As the task is written, no one may begin until someone else picks up the bag of salt. As written, the bag of salt would need to be on a surface of some sort for the task to begin. Taskmaster made a boo-boo trying to be clever.
They returned to their starting point multiple times after the bag originally touched the ground.
It doesn't matter how long the touch is, one touch equals one return.
I mean, it depends if you consider a touch the same as sitting on the ground 🧐
Fuck yes Lee Mack is on it. Alright I'll slog through the ads on the channel 4 app.
I feel Lee massively overthought the challenge 😂
This was my favorite task.
Mr. Salty! lol
It should have been alot easier for the three because they could have just switched it between the two while the third kept the bells in the air
Yep. Two of them should have just stood within arms reach and passed back and forth while the third just pulled the rope taught from 20 paces ahead.
100%
Bit of an advantage over the group of two 😅
Not really, the real task was to walk behind “the” table, pick up the salt bag, and set it on the table next to the sugar.
@@jacobb5484 -- We understand that. But thanks for the pedantry.
@@jacobb5484 that doesn't change my point at all. They could have still done it exactly as I said just with the correct bag
I love Mike Wozniak
Goddam I love this show!!
Best show on TV
If, when they tied the bag closed, they had gotten as much air as possible OUT of the bag before tying closed, the bag would not break as readily.
Although the bag splitting and /or unravelling could have helped the first team figure out it wasn't salt
Lee watched a lot of Taskmaster and became pedantic playing it.
i hate to be pedantic, but, the word isn't pendantic.
@@ThePoohat thanks. Edited.
Am I being dumb here or could they have just picked up “that table over there” whilst resting their bells on the table as they then went to pick it up, moved it to the table with the bag of salt on & just transferred the salt onto the table?
The problem would be trying to get the belt on the table and for it to stay on while not being able to touch the belt.
@@lisahenry20 How is that a problem? It’s not like the table is shrinking, lol.
@@motodog242 for getting the bells on, there would be a problem if people are too short or the table is too tall.
As for the bells staying on, we don't know how much the bells would roll around on the table. I've had experience trying to carry spherical objects on tables and it isn't fun.
That was really funny
So... turn in a circle to wrap the belt around your waist so it's shorter
love taskmaster
The salt touched the ground when the bag broke xD
It's if the bag of salt touches the ground
@@lisahenry20 valid
I'd move the table. Ez
I think it has to be said that Taskmaster adapted to the whole social distance thing really well.
surprised nobody picked up the small table, moved it to their starting point, then grabbed the bag and took it back to the starting point with them.
Didnt anyone think that they could have just picked up the table and carry it over?
5:32
That mustache
Couldn’t they have moved the table to the salt?
I think they could have just put the salt on the first table. The bag starts the task under it, and the task is "put it on the table over there".
Carrying the table without the bells touching the ground is rather hard, I guess (but Jamali could probably carry it alone, that guy is frikkin huge)
@@jand563 could be made easier if you also get the bells on the table too
Which episode was this
Series 11 episode 4
Thank you
if they spun around they could shorten the lengths of rope by wrapping it around their waist, less slack for bell droop
Yes, but I think part of the reason the task was designed the way it was, was to make sure the contestants have to follow social distancing rules during the task
what if the just position the bell on the table and then put the bag on the table and just carry the whole table?
No one thought to move the small table?
Sarah looks like Roger Daltrey
You know? They could have put the bag inside a jacket, put the jacket on the ground (the bag isn't touching the ground: the jacket is). Then they spin in their axis, so the belt becomes tight (no risk of belt touching the ground). Tie the jacket to the belt (hanging). Now nobody is holding the salt: they are suspending the salt. Walk together. Place the salt. Hindsight is 20/20
But it depends on how Greg defines 'hold'. Similar to what Mack said, if he has salt in a carrier and someone asks if he's holding (he said carrying) the salt, it would be correct to say that he's holding the salt. Even if the salt is being suspended by the belt between people, Greg would be able to argue that you're holding it while moving and therefore disqualify your attempt.
I prefer someone else's idea of carrying the small end table to the starting table and just transferring the bag to the end table. No tossing or suspension of salt required.
They should of picked up the table and moved it over to the salt then picked it up to put on table....
Can I just point out that throwing is "moving" cos one is moving the muscles so therefore if one even moves the bag using muscles they have to go back to the start!
Didn’t say muscles moving though did it, said moving with the understanding of every person there, that that meant legs ie walking or running maybe even a bit of a jog
@@emmuzboosh But it was clear it said "moving " moving a muscle is still moving so back to the start!
one of the best tasks ever, LMAO
I Think i fell in love with Mike, he so funny and sexy 😂
You can hold the bells to move around easier, and they could have had some one pick up the bag of salt, and then pick them up and move that way.
Mike kinda moved
Nothing in the rules about moving while holding a bag of sugar.
@@LoriasGS yeah I typed the comments before it was shown and couldn't be arsed to remove it
@@magmafang7187 Happens to the best of us. I noticed on a 2nd watch that Alex didn't say anything when they moved with the bag it was always them deciding to go back, he didn't tell them himself until the bells hit the ground.
@@LoriasGS Also the "are you now?" comment when Mike said he was covered in salt.
carrying is not holding
If you carry your baby you are holding your baby. Wrong, unfortunately mate.
@@nffctrickett But, if you carry your baby *in* something, then you’re not holding the baby, you’re holding the thing!
@@nffctrickett If you have a gun in a holster on your belt, you are carrying a gun. If you are carrying the burden of responsibilty you are not physically holding it.
Did the task say the vag of Salt cant touch the ground? Couldn't they just toss it over to the table run over an pick it up?
"If the bag of salt touches the ground at any point, you must return to your starting point."
Faulty task, it can't start on the ground
So then what if nobody found the actual bag of salt?
Would they have just discarded this task and not show it on the air since I don't see how a reveal of the actual bag of salt would have been any fun since nobody gotten close to guessing that twist making for a very un-interesting task.
It could be like the task where everyone got disqualified because they all had objects touch the red green, or they completed the task in the studio after revealing the bag that they put on the table was sugar, and therefore both timers were still going.
They've had other tasks where everyone was disqualified and/or no one completed the task. It's still entertaining to watch the contestants try.
lets be real here, taskmaster was never rly about winning
@@hugepriapism3377 You doubt the value of a replica of the head of Greg Davies?!?
I mean, it's no Amazon gift card...
Doesnt say the bag of salt cannot touch the ground... just throw it all the way
"Noone may move, while holding a bag of salt". It didn't said "don't move your feet"... So - noone win here. Also bag of salt was touching the ground from very beginning. In order to even start moving they should have asked Alex to raise bag of salt above the ground .
If the bag touched the ground they had to return to their starting position, but they didn't have to do so immediately. They could perfectly well walk over, fix the issue and walk back again.
It’s not salt. 😒
I hope they cleaned up the spilt salt; bad for plant life.
Why does she have money in her bra? 😂 watch towards the end and u will literally see money in there lol.
This is a disappointment
The guy with the big beard has such an awful accent.
he's from essex. so yes. great dude but when you have an essex accent, thats a tough life
