I have this theory that's supported by nothing really, that all the "enemies" we fight in the game are Drake greatly exaggerating the number of henchmen that were at any given place on his adventures because he wants to sound cool in front of Cassie, and since he has proof of all the other crazy shit he's seen she has no reason not to believe him when it comes to the number of guys he's survived fighting.
Its called ludonarative dissonance it means the gameplay and the stroy convey different things all uncharted games do this all get games some people care others dont.
When he kills its hardly any different from when an animal out in the wild kills. It's purely survival. He'd rather not kill and he actually can just sneak past enemies in the game play without killing a single person, but we the player don't find that very entertaining.

Oh my god I loved it! It did feel sad as it was the end of a great series, but it is better than dragging it out and ruining it. The idea of "settling down", getting married and having children scares me, it feels boring and borderline torturous. But if I get to do it with someone like Nate, God I would do it in a heartbeat. You know there isn't a boring moment with a guy like him. Also, I feel like Elena (and Nate too) miss the adventure, I mean who wouldn't! They seem happy with their lives, but compared to what they had before, who wouldn't feel nostalgic?

Perfect end to the series as long as they don’t tarnish it with needless continuation of a bunch sequels no one asked for like halo, gears of war and Star Wars.
Because this, right here, is how you end a story arc. This is how you give a character an ending the players feel rewarded for getting to. And once you do that, it's an insult and a travesty to throw that character right back into danger, and try to milk them for one more game.

I admit I was disappointed in this ending... I was so convinced that Nate would die, but die doing what he loved, hunting treasure and solving history to himself. The part of Uncharted 4 where he finds the pirate table with the skeletons I thought was proof that he was going to succumb to the same fate.... I watched this ending in 2016 knowing what Naughty Dog wanted to do, but just with a blank look on my face. I didn't like the fairy tale ending.
Well that was kinda the point of what nathan learned. He learned that the treasure wasn't worth it that table is proof look what happens if you continue to go down that path, and now look instead of go for the treasure like the villain did he chose his brother and his wife and he got to live mean while he died and for what. For some dumb treasure that means nothing especially if your dead.
Having Nate die makes no sense because his entire arc is about how he learned to reject his obsession with the treasure, after seeing how his actions hurt the people around him, and ultimately choosing a future with Elena instead. It was a simple but very powerful arc, and extremely well-done. In contrast, his brother Sam continued to pursue the treasure. The only person that maybe, could have died, should be Sam. Following storytelling conventions, Sam should have died. But I'm happy no one died, really. Amazong story, loved every moment. Also showed what a good marriage looks like XD.
I actually don't like the daughter. Her knowledge and skills yeah. Her attitude and lack of is something abhorent. Oh that something is that she is a millenial and third wave feminist.
Sorry. But i hate this ending. I hate they have a ugly daughter and living like rich people on a private Island or some shit. Sorry again. But that doesn't fit to Nathan Drake. He should be a normal guy like in the beginning. They should roll the credits after they take a taxi back home. And Sam and Sully planing some stuff. This will always be my true ending.
