This happened to my pitbull last month, she likes to jump a lot around me and while doing I think she hit her neck somewhere, and she started wheezing in a super bad way with her neck contracting and she lost going to lie down because she can't breathe. That was one of the worst panics that happened to me, I quickly grabbed her neck and yanked it forward and after doing it 4 to 5 seconds she went back to normal.
I know what I did that time is bad but that was the first time I had seen a dog chock and I need to do something as fast possible and thanks to that she's ok. You should save this video and watch it at least once 3 months something, I promise you you don't want to see what I saw that day.
Your training and health information is so much appreciated….you are the only trainer who really knows how to train working dogs ( I have a Czechyour first aid info is so valuable also

If you ask me, this is absolutely crucial knowledge for every single dog owner to know. I already knew the pushing upwards under the ribs/above belly but not the rest of it..figured there had to be more so I looked on here and found this. No doubt, this video can & will save so many dogs lives…you’re an angel. If you have any videos on giving a dog cpr can someone plz link me to it? I couldn’t find one. If there isn’t one no worries thought I would ask just in case. 🙏🏻

excellent video... I'm a new dog owner and another thing I did was find out where the nearest 24/7 vet ER location is. The last thing you wanna do is be looking up that information during an emergency

Thank you so much. I really wanna learn cpr first aid it all because when my pup was 6 months old a vehicle ran out in front of mine and my pup was in the back seat. He's OK now but that was terrifying. I rushed him to the vet amedatly. Thank you so much for this video.

my old dog was having all kinds of issues the couple months before I had to make that dreaded decision. He was choking (this happened about 3 times) and I instinctively reached under his gut and started lifting and it ended up everytime w/vomit but I could see he was in need of help. You'll know even if you've never had that to deal with.
Does this go for cats too?
We had a 8 week boxer that choked on kibble and died. We are both nurses and we couldn’t get it out, she passed out and we did cpr but couldn’t save her 😢 it was aweful.

Hi Garrett, my question is in doing a finger suite for a dog is completely different in a human. They don’t advise to do that any longer so I’m curious as to why we would do that in a dog wouldn’t we first just start with rescue breaths I’m confused.

Gosh it’s scary to have a dog choking wish I had this video when our dog wannabe chocked the first time. Did the Heimlich on her but not sideways but another way I have now saved her twice from choking that way so it seams to at least work and on the plus side she is still here and being her happy senior brat self
a lots of vet are not 24/7..make sure to know where is your closer emergency vet 24/7..help emergency line etc

You need to punish him. I have a pitbull and she's the sweetest thing in the world, but when she gets exited her genetics start kicking in and she bit the leg with force, I usually flick her nose or screw her skin under her front armpit.
