- Jude Bellingham is a very talented and young player. His future seems to be very bright. He made it out from Bermingham City FC, and now he is a key player for Dortmund. The shirt retirement story is missing a few things here. His shirt number was retired out of respect as blues were in a very fragile financial state. At the end of that season Bellingham would have been available on a free transfer (subject to tribunal), Bellingham signed a new contract with Birmingham City purely so they could pick up a transfer fee. He was leaving that summer, could have done so on a free with a mega sign on but instead showed love for his boyhood team.

I actually grew up in the same place as Jude, bromsgrove and our dads worked with each other in the police and we used to go the same barbers and both trained at the same pitch at Fairfield in the first lockdown

First saw him as a kid running around the Leamington FC ground when his dad was banging in goals for us. Mark (policeman, dad), being married to Jude's mum, is apparently very much in the forefront of race relation handling in the West Mids Police. He's a great guy so not surprised.
First heard about Jude as a player when he was about 14 and I was watching Dudley Sports. A fan saw my Leamington shirt and said "Mark's son will be something". Guess he was right!

I agree. Jude should become a historic football figure. Watched his dad play at non league level for years and followed Jude since he was a youth at the Blues. Retiring a shirt at that age is mad.
