Howdy folks! Several commenters mentioned the funny sounding "rotten wood" description for the top of this guitar. This is probably the closest the sellers could come to the English word 'spalted' translating from Chinese. Spalted wood is taken from fallen, decomposing trees found in moist lowland drainages usually, and the interesting discoloration patterns that some find very attractive are from the dying wood reacting chemically with minerals and enzymes absorbed from the local ground water to produce colored stains in the grain. These stains are known as 'spalting.' As a woodworker I've only seen spalted maple but spalting probably occurs in some other hardwoods too.
Their "Chinglish" product descriptions crack me up! "The panel of this electric guitar is made of rotten wood, showing the characteristics of landscape painting and map patterns, which is very beautiful and unique".
Third time trying to post this, YT doesn't like what I'm saying apparently. Anyway, these are obviously made in China. Back when the Firefly brand first came out, they were just a generic brand, because they just said Firefly on the headstock and then later, they said Firefly Designed and Backed By JSN. I even went on Alibaba back then and found the manufacturer. In fact this guitar you are showing is made by a company on Alibaba. I'm sure this is how Tease guitars gets their guitars. I keep thinking of starting my own brand. As others mentioned, its the customer service that makes the difference.
"The panel of this electric guitar is made of rotten wood, showing the characteristics of landscape painting and map patterns, which is very beautiful and unique." From the Amazon description... ;-)
I bought this exact guitar from the seller on ebay , when it finaaly arrived it was packed in a box with firefly printed all over the outside however the headstock on guitar was marked "carpose", I have other firefly guitars and this was a firefly in my opinion rebranded Guitar is very nice and plays great Not sure what is going on with the carpose name ? I love the guitar
It calls itself a "Carpose." Never heard of it. I buy all my Fireflies from Guitars Garden... reasonable flat rate shipping, and they have much improved all of their products with stainless steel frets with rounded ball endings, locking tuners, etc. I have several and love them all. Have a good one.

Thanks for the heads-up on this one, Joe---It is a beautiful guitar. I like how the link describes it as "Rotten Wood"---LOL!
That was an odd choice of words but very funny.
Looks like a firefly to me. Thanks Joe
Beautiful looking, and at that price. The back looks especially nice.

That's what I suspected!

As of this writing, Amazon has a similar style guitar made by Grote for $185.95. Based on the user reviews I've seen, this might be a better deal.
Spalted maple top is a sharper looking guitar for basically the same coin.....These guitars actually have a following on the guitar forums.
Does this brand actually have any sort of customer services? Firefly has good costumer service it seems.
I have noticed that the strat relic KGD looks exactly like the Firefly with similar features.
Check out the volgoa and bullfighter guitars, some models with same features.
