- Hey guys, as most of you know, we lost a true guitar hero earlier this week. Here is a video of one of my favorite solo of his, it's from the song "The Warrior Princess" by Sinergy.

A person who can play lead while singing is a truly talented artist.
I can do that.
@@xanderharris562 why? I do covers of bodoms every day singing and playing the rythim and lead guitars sections without any problem.
@@xanderharris562 i have covers of bodom in yt but when i was a teenager. If you wanna see just put Eze tallica in the yt browser or here is one of my old videos. Today i can do that to much better.

21 year old Alexi. Super insane to think he was playing at this level when he was 16 (when the first album was written). The man was a child prodigy. RIP to the GOAT
The first Inearthed album is from 1994 so he was 14 or 15, really insane
This was not 21 yo Alexi. Alexi was already 24 when Roope joined the band. He was 20 years old when he recorded the Tokyo Warhearts album, which in itself is pretty crazy. The quality of the album is legendary and the whole bands' intricacy throughout the show just shows why COB is one of the best live bands to exist.
@@sheldo6t was 21 year old Alexi, get your facts straight. The video was recorded in march 2001 at a guitar clinic held by Alexi and Roope in Keskusmusiikki music store, Lahti, Finland.
Edit: Also if Alexi was 24, he wouldn't be playing that guitar. That guitar was stolen 28th of september 2002.
@@xjt9787 Thanks for letting me know. Cheers
@@sheldo6Alexi was already playing with Roope in Sinergy in 1999 so this was when he was 21 years old
It’s ok tho people make mistakes all the time
I still can't believe he's gone...
I miss him to bud.
@Dave S Was 1 of the best guitarist/vocalist in death metal from children of bodom
Hello fellow strong serbian! He's not gone until he's forgotten.
It's hard to believe he's gone...
how ? what happened ??
This guy was like no other at making guitars cry with his tremolo technique.
1:05 is where my heart stays
Song is the warrior princess by sinergy btw
I respect what this guy did on Bodoms 2003 album. The melodies on needled 24/7, Angels don't kill and triple corpse hammerblow were essential Melodeath.
Totally agreed, Sixpounder was the song that got my attention initially from COB
@@crl122486 oh god, can't believe I forgot sixpounder, that song is killer.
Sixpounder was also a very emblematic song for me! A banger
Downfall and the Vivaldi Summer cover was what nailed it for me.
The solo in bosom beach terror that eventually lead me to bed of razors where the point where I knew cob was something else
Ah yes, the unreachable old school Alexi tone, ever so elusive
Huh?
so gainy yet so tight
@Bart Lee damn i’ve been seeing u all over these bodom videos lol.
it was his _fingers_
Copied from Roope Latvala originally haha
What a player he was. End of fu**in story!
Haha well said
For anyone wondering the song is Warrior princess by Sinergy!
Didn't listen to Bodom as much these recent years but goddamn if Alexi didn't inspire me to keep practicing those first years of learning the instrument. RIP to a legend.
May his majesty and talent live on in metal heads and hearts everywhere forever.
The Sweetest, most humble guy , so much talent, ! He had such a great tone and skill on guitar! His own sound! Which is so hard to do in any musical format.. I was totally inspired by his technique since day one. Truly one the best inspirations, ! Not just with metal, and guitar. But with musicianship. RIP brother!
Светлая память великому гитаристу...! Очень жалко
Wow it’s easy to hear the influence of classical music on these guys. Very European. I like it.
Eastern Europeans are the best race.
@@Mat-zt4bi I’ve never been there I’ll take your word for it though I assume Western Europeans might have a different opinion? Either way classical music seems to be a strong influence on European rockers.

As a guitar player myself this was incredible to watch but kind of blew my mind because I had no idea that Alexi was gone, until I saw this video. R.i.p Alexi you were definitely one of the greats, and truly an inspiration to so many.
#AlexiLaiho was unique, the best Guitarist ever, he was a gift for all of us 💔
Would've never adopted this username 10+ years ago without his inspiration for my playing!
One of my first bands, he is a piece of our younghood.
Лайхо лучший!!! One love!!!
I wish I would have gotten to know him more as a musician before he passed. I hear a lot of Randy Rhoads in him.
we lost a Guitar Hero, and Gained a Guitar God, i was lucky enough to see him live best show i went to hands down r.i.p alexi!!
One of my many favorite guitarists and i cant get over the fact that hes gone.
RIP Alexi you were a bad ass guitar player.
A magical duo.
Thank you so much for posting this. Sinergy is awesome and it's so unfortunate they didn't reunite to record again before Alexi passed.
Rip what an absolute god, one of my biggest regrets in life was not seeing Bodom live 😢
We gonna miss him so much...
R.I.P. Alexi...
One of my favourite Sinergy songs. RIP Alexi.
which song is this
@@roumpinismortis354 Sinergy - The Warrior Princess
Sinergy formed when the then Dimmu Borgir keyboard player Kimberly Goss met with In Flames guitarist Jesper Strömblad during a joint world tour. They discussed the idea of assembling a female-fronted metal band, but were unable to achieve this due to time constraints.
When Kimberly quit Dimmu Borgir and moved to Sweden, she decided that it was time to turn her project with Strömblad into a reality. The first incarnation of Sinergy was composed of them, bassist Sharlee D'Angelo (from Arch Enemy and Mercyful Fate), drummer Ronny Milianowicz and guitarist Alexi Laiho (from Children of Bodom).

Roope fucks up and Alexi just keeps playing with a huge smile on his face haha

really sad. it didn't have to be this way. The dude drank himself to death.
Alcohol is one hell of a drug and alcoholism is no joke. And we Finns tend to have a special kind of relationship with alcohol too. Kind of makes it even harder because he was a rock star and people still think rock stars are supposed to drink a lot.

Alexi mis respetos, donde quiera que estés.
R.I.P the legend !
Rest in peace, Laiho! You the best metal guitarist and singer forever ✊
His death, and probably his life, were tragedies. The heart and mind of an artist can be torment. We think constantly, and we unfortunately become disillusioned by reality. Those two things lead to using substances, alcohol included, to help us tolerate this life.
As a fellow musician & depressed individual, I can affirm this to be true.
Wow!
He was awesome!!
No way excellent dude.
His solos were the best
R.I.P Legend
Its too bad he was underrated as a guitarist he was always so good and great at mixing all metal in a uniquely fluent way! R.I.P Alexi you will live forever through your music!!
Underrated? He's pretty much the most influential player of his time and recognized by many as the next Randy Road.
@@Flatule you have to dig really deep into metal as an American to first hear about him.or atleast in the area i grew up before youtube was big
@@roddanglin9345 I live in Africa and literally every metal head knows Alexi, this was the kind of music we shared on CD's and hard cover, I don't think anyone here found out about COB on RUclips.
People just like to throw ariund the word underrated and i fucking hate it. Just because your group of friends who listen to 4 fingered donkey punch never heard of Bodom, doesnt make him underrated. Warrior Princess, Gallowmere, and Written In Stone have been mainstays in my playlists for over 15 years.

🔥🔥🔥
What solo is this??? This is crazy amazing
Alexi should be able to worth, and remain far from scorn in that way too the partner that accompany him all over his youngness, Roope Latvala. We agree was composer and genius, a talent of nature, and his guitar dance and f*ck with Janne Wirman keyboard notes, but Roope always were there, offering harmony, rythmics, company, complementation, brotherhood.
He always will shine, but one part of that bloom, pertains to Roope.
RIP Alexi ! And I miss Roope too… to me he is just as great as Alexi
What Amp setup did he use back then?
Леха красавчик forever
素敵な青春をありがとう♪
俺もすぐそっちへ行くから、その時はまたその素晴らしいギターを聴かせてくれ!
