The worst injury I’ve ever seen is Mary Pierce at Linz 2006. She ruptured her knee in the 2nd round vs Zvonareva while leading 6-4 6-5 and having 3 match points. She twisted her knee and literally screamed in pain and had to be taken off the court. She was never able to recover after that and never played another match. It was heartbreaking.
That's is on the part 2, i guess ?
I'm still giving it to Bethanie Mattek-Sands at Wimbledon. Seeing that kneecap in the wrong place was stomach turning. It's amazing that it didn't end her career.

I really like that she did that. I don't know if she went over to Venus at all, but the fact she did that shows compassion.
That was kind, but the way she acted the rest of the match was extremely disrespectful as was her nasty handshake. Once a doper clown (tortellini soup scandal she blamed on her CANCEROUS MOTHER?), always a doper clown.
maybe, because it was a good outcome in the end, ie, someone, NOT in the williams family took the trophy that year; as it HAD to happen sometime, and they all wanted her OUT, not in "injury time", so someone else had a chance of showing how far they could go WITH a chance, not just having williams win, out of habbit, etc.

It's just so hard for me to see Venus :( more respectively, although having that kind of hurt and unable to move, she chose to finish the match 😢
Bianca is one of my favourite players and it always pains me to see her struggle with injuries :( It's especially heartbreaking just this year at Miami where she was playing some fantastic tennis.
She looked like she was having a lot of fun out there too. No doubt this will cause huge mental anguish for her as well when she had finally looked to be overcoming her mental struggles. I'm hoping Rafa or Murray can reach out to her and tell her their secrets.

I appreciate each time the opponent going over to assist or check on the injured player. True sportsmanship. Hate to see such delay in response for bianca.

So sad to see Bianca being injured again in Miami. Miami is definetely not a good place for her.😭 It was so devastating to see it knowing what she has gone through. I just have a bad feeling that her whole career will be fullfilled with injuries and that she will not be able to reach her higgest possible heights. Hope to be wrong!
Venus and that damn Australian Open. I haven’t seen it on any of the lists, but in 2011, when she tore her abdomen/leg and let out that scream of pain, it was horrible. Same for when she tore her abdomen at Wimbledon in 2003 (and still played the final). 2011 should have made the list. I don’t think Venus was ever the same after that.
TBH Andreescu should avoid Miami for the rest of her career. Hopping for her speedy recovery.

@@CA-Premium she has never won Miami, in 2019 she tore her rotator cuff and was out for like 5 months, 2021 she rolled her ankle in the final and retired and now she is injured again at the same event

Daria Gavrilova (Saville) was exactly like Andreescu right after start to play a good tennis the injury came

I’m not known to be the biggest fan of Bianca’s but that was still dreadful to watch. Wishing her a speedy recovery because that looked awful to see. Hope she recovers quickly.

Its a reminder of how fragile life can be. I got one of these serious ankle injuries playing basketball with my brother and it put me out of work for a month. When physicality is your livelihood, injury is really bad.
Yes definitely, I remember when I played tennis in high school freshmen year I went down to get a ball and took off a big chunk of my knee, I had to play to the rest of my match with it, I did win but oh did it hurt.

Venus’ is sad as she had a good draw and was destined for an okay run for her standards but yea…
I feel like some of these injuries are happening because of the slower courts. Slowing down courts causes more friction when split stepping or running weirdly. However this sort of doesn’t apply on clay courts since you can slide on it.
Always said tennis players earn every penny they get and must have massive mental strength to come back after injury’s all the time the last one with andreescu was awful

Carla's injury I just did myself, but different. My foot caught something on my floor, went down, and natural instinct is to stop the fall. I didn't break my hand, but humerus. Feel her
I get mad when I see the opponent just standing on their side of the net and not going to assist the injured player.
Get off your high horse. It's not like the opponent can cure her. lol You should be mad that the response is so slow by the medical staff and ref.
I feel the opposite... Most times i wish they would just sit down while physios etc are doing their thing instead of staring at the person in pain snd do nothing. Its not their place to do sth anyways. The case with Venus here was a little different because of Covid peoples wanted to keep their distance
There are heaps of medical professionals on stand-by. Let them do their job.
It's against the rules to cross to the opponents side of the court.

Ankle injuries can stop you at the spot. Something just gives way. And you can't even put the slightest pressue on that foot. It's just too painful. It happened to me while practising on my backhand (single-handed). The right ankle takes all the pivotal pressure and wasn"t ready for that kind of continual stress. After resting it for a while it felt ok so I restatrted my training. The ankle injury came back almost instantly.
Sometime later I started running. Running makes me aware of the strength required of the ankle for pushing, turning and landing. The injury never returned.
Extended low-intensity workout primes you for the quick and speedy movements.
I think for most of the players above they either are playng with some kind of injuries or have not put enough time for the preparatory groundwork for their sport.

Unfortunately Andreescu is just one of those athletes whose body is never going to hold up long enough for her to meet her full potential.
The worst injury I had ever seen was Ewald Lienen 1981. An soccer player slashed his tight 20cm in the game.
Mattek-Sands at Wimbledon was a really bad one.

Wear your knee support guys if you still wish to play... It happen to me so many times that knee twisted and ankle bends... We can not control that phenomenon if we will not work together to control that why or reasons. I've got knee operations on both knees but I can help to control it alone for I don't have the permission to do it. You see I suffer the most of it... But I don't wanna give up but I'm still in vain. ❤
Don't forget Victoria Azarenka in Wimbledon .She screamed even more than Bianca in Miami.

I'm not trying to brag here, but in 2015 I dislocated my shoulder by falling over the net immediately after I had won the point.

Tennis is a fairly safe game. But make no mistake, most of the injuries you get playing tennis are interior and don’t look as bad from the outside perspective. A lot of times when you tear tendons it’s more like an aged rubber band finally snapping so the movement before the snap won’t necessarily be anything dramatic

The worst tennis injury I have ever seen was shoe injury of Noah Rubin in his match against John Isner at the City Open in Washington in 2018. 😂

She has old knees now.
She hurt her ankle. But because of Covid, no one was able to go right away, and she was trying to sort of walk it off, which of course she couldn’t.

Venus is WAY too old to be playing professional tennis, she is just asking for this kind of injury and a terrible retirement.
And the Oscar goes to Serena. Absolutely diabolical theatrics from her once again. She just slipped and didn’t even look like she injured anything. She was getting outplayed by Sashnovich and spoiled her moment by once again making it all about herself. And she did this ALL THE TIME when she played. It was always about her and never her opponent. Whenever she lost it was because of an injury or because she played at “10%” (something that she actually said in press conferences multiple times). The only satisfying thing about it is that she ended her career with two consecutive losses in the 1st round of Wimbledon.
I’ve never in my life heard Serena being humble and say that she actually got outplayed in a match, whereas other great players like the Big 3 have often accepted defeats and gave credit to their opponents.

She definitely "faked" all of her injuries on court and the cameras are just an excuse, infact, she even caused her own pulmonary embolisms and she even KNOWINGLY stepped on broken glass and she really wanted to be handicapped. The next thing she should "unknowingly" do is stab herself somewhere, that would make you happy right?
Sounds like the only person who deserves an Oscar is you, my guy. You get the Oscar for best schizophrenic. Serena was literally up a break in that first-round match until she slipped, tore her hamstring, and could not recover from it. To craft such narratives in your head is extremely concerning.

In 2021, Wimbledon used different grass that was absolutely terrible. Many players were injured and even those who won still complained about it being very slippery. Serena was leading the set and had no reason to fake an injury.
It’s interesting how you see women cry on every injury yet I’ve seen men snap their bones in half playing football or for instance Conor vs Dustin when Conor snapped his ankle. No crying. No emotion.

Cramping should not be included in a video about injuries. They should be treated by the trainers, but they are not injuries.
