    Daniel thank you for all you do for the US during tornado season. You save lives and give advanced warning, sometimes those few minutes or even seconds are the difference between life and death!

    Listened to Dan spotting storms through Kansas tonight (5/2/2018) on the scanner radio app. The guys who do this for the Skywarn network deserve medals. I honestly don't think that people understand how important this is to keep people as safe as possible. As far as I know they aren't paid a dime and the information is absolutely indispensable for the areas affected by severe weather. Plain and simple, these guys save lives and alot of them.

    This guy keeps his cool in the worst of situations! You have to see his May 31st elReno video, the long one is worth watching because it becomes very haunting from making you feel like you are right there in his car with him

    When you were outside the storm that was a beautiful shot! The wall cloud, rotation, etc.!

    Wow, it's really hard to see, so scary but so beautiful to look at. However, rest in peace to those that died earlier this morning or last night.

    So...the question that's on everyone's mind....Did you approach this twisting storm with caution?

    • @DarthTwilight

      Those twisty storms are sneaky little fuckers.

      So I'm a fat bastard, am I? What an interesting way of interacting with people: "Let me make a pejorative comment about someone, especially if I lack the sagacity to detect veritably obvious sarcasm, and in the end would be relegated to eating crow." I'm clearly referencing the MTN program he's using that advises when one is approaching a storm in which rotation has been observed. I know to exercise caution because I chase storms every summer.

    I love the education these vids provide. When I was a kid there were so many myths....I was ten when the 1974 one happened and I remember my Grandpa saying that we were probably safe in Cincinnati because we're surrounded by hills. That myth was busted in a BIG way that day. He had simply never seen a tornado do that until it did. And Xenia is located in flatter land between Cincinnati and Columbus, so at first it looked like he was right. Then the next day we heard about Sayler Park, a river community with hills all around it.

    • @heatherstub
      @heatherstub 8 лет назад

      I was 9 in 1974, and we got hit by the last tornado to hit, and it happened in Atlanta, Georgia and Stone Mountain, Georgia. It was an F5, and I'll never forget it. Whenever we get a tornado warning, I have to get everything I can find to cover me, because I live in my own condo now, and there's no basement. It's a good thing I have a bathroom with a tub, a matress, and lots of pillows. My cat and dog won't know what's going on, and I hope they'll stay with me.

    Rain wrapped tornadoes suck! When it's rain wrapped you can't visually see it, and it's very unpredictable at this point! Stay safe out there guys!

    Around 12:20 you hear "approaching a twisting storm please use caution" . Anyone know what that is? I have heard it on some of his other videos.

    The tornado warning sirens remind me of the Cold War, when the air raid sirens went off the last Friday of each month.

    • @AJtheRatty

      I believe a large number of Civil Defense sirens from that era are still in use across the midwest and are used whenever Tornado Warnings are issued.

    No it didn't look like it was raining but it did get dark! My... My... touchy aren't we? Chasers think they own the road but honestly they need not only to look out for the tornado but other people on the road as well! Wonder if Chasers get in accidents whose fault it is, percentage wise? PEACE and PRAYERS for those who lost LOVED ONES and property!

      The police put themselves in those locations to allow their lights to act a beacon for cars that may or not be coming down the road. It's to prevent them from driving smack into the tornado in low visibility situations.
