- Hikaru cheated Levon.
- Garry cheated Judit, MSN, Vishy & Alexei Shirov.

They were all bullying cheating not engine cheating (except Danya 2x - that was both).
It's sad Bobby Fischer kept accusing Garry of cheating by pre-arranging games but never pointed out how Garry cheated Bobby's friend Judit.

They've 'always been the bad' guys - well, except in 2019. "Gens una sumus" is just a load of bull. 'It's just a cover for the' tortious nature of the International Magnus Chess-en Federation.
Not sure what the point is of interviewing someone who uses a rather unsophisticated method of cheating. It's clear that it's possible to cheat like that, but it's also clear that this method does not work at a higher level. There a simple eval bar would do the job. Cheating cannot be detected if done sporadically, but it can be detected based on move time stats and unlikely run (btw, neither of these is the case with Hikaru)
It precisely goes to show that however unsophisticated this dude may be, he's able to grind away 800 elo (from say his official 1500 to some kind of 2300 online) altogether unnoticed, which basically goes to show the environment is not safe at all and we shouldn't expect too much "catching cheaters" at higher levels!...
My cousin cheats playing all engine moves, not a single human move. He got to GM level and 2 years later still not banned.
@@checkmate-s3t I saw him doing it with his smart phone in his hand for several games and in different several days whenever I visited at my uncle's house. He was very excited about it and told me to watch.
He mostly cheated in blitz 3|2 and other blitz time controls. One hand on the phone, while the other on the mouse to move as fast as human.
Also I've seen his other cheating accounts and he didn't mind I reported it. He's not afraid, since he has several accounts (he played a different engine in each one) and he said besides me, only another couple of players reported (they told him and insulted him in the chat, but he didn't care). His real rating is 1100 in his clean account, I beat him every time we play OTB.
If the engine played different, why only 2 players noticed and reported, 2 out of 400 games in each account? That's in total more than 1000 games (each game is a different player, so more than 1000 different players and only 2 noticed).
In fact, he has been wrongly reported as a cheater more often in his clean account than in the accounts where he actually did it. I have also been accused of cheating in the chat more often than that, and I never cheated.
If you don't believe it, just do it yourself.
The only thing you need is not to play a single human move (we think that's where they might notice because of the inconsistency on strength), and use an engine lower than 2800 rating and higher than 2000. That's all you need.
He's not cheating anymore, because he got tired of copy pasting moves, also every time he gets more than 2400 he has to wait for several minutes to find opponent, which is very boring. All his accounts are still unbanned 2 years later.
He did it in both most famous online chess sites.
I laugh everytime they boast about how sophisticated is their anticheating system, when any monkey can cheat and remain unbanned forever.
It's been 2 years I don't play online since I watched my cousin cheating so easily.
He's pretty naive about these rating differences: 1500, 1700, 2100, and 2300... in real life there's very little chance that a 1500 would be able to beat a 1700 even one out of 10 games let alone even smell a draw against a 2300.
I wonder if he was the guy that played 3 Check under the name "Checking Checker" on Lichess, that was banned. Ironically my friend still beat him in 3 check(cause he is also top 50). LOL
I'm sure hikaru sandbagging for streaming entertainment and farming noobs for rating points is a good role model for these kids. /scarcasm. I'm not surpised the kid thinks cheating makes him a better player, because HIkaru has been claiming to the chess world for the past few years his streaming is what made him a better player lmao. Quite the contrast to your interview with Vidit who said he got better at chess when he stopped streaming. Which correlates with human nature. Hikaru on the other hand simply raises red flags. i attribute the chess boon a few years ago to the covid and the queens gambit, but for every 10 players Hikaru attracts, he breeds 10 cheaters and drives away 10 more because of the anonymity, immaturity and dishonesty being exploited which is far from sporting.
