It is him coming to terms with the fact that, he will die one day. However, in leave the city, he does not make his explosion as to serve the narrative of Trench, that being Tyler's world without God. Though in trench he is not alone, and the banditos service as his saviors. The banditos are survivors of dema, that escaped the clutches of the bishops. They too are looking for slavation. Clancy (aka Tyler, but not Tyler at the same time) is stuck in this loop of escaping and being captured again. Without his faith, Tyler is stuck until the day he makes that cry for help.
I love that Leave the City ends on the same note that Truce ends on. That hit me right in the feels. I also love how they dropped in Nico's full name Nicolas Bourbaki. I love that Nicolas Bourbaki is not a real person but a collection of NINE mostly French Mathemations who invented and structured a lot of modern Mathematics. One of the things they invented was a math symbol for Empty Set let's see if you recognise it the symbol is Ø.

It gives me hope that there are people paying attention out there....and not just floating through space on this piece of granite with their eyes closed worrying about what KK is wearing. I so so so love TOP.... I just get lost in it.....it sends me to a "flow state" to use the term of extreme athletes....where you get lost and absorbed in the now. PS...love the hair.
