Sorry Rob -that "duck walk" move by the guitarist is from the GREAT Chuck Berry. Angus "borrowed" it (but is worthy of it, of course). Chuck Berry ALWAYS did it on stage, even when he got old...
The guitarist in the video was Billy Peek, who was discovered by Chuck Berry. This video was done in 1977 and not many people outside of Australia had heard of AC/DC at that point.
@@redarmysoja True that. Some of their stuff had apparently been released internationally since '76, but I don't recall hearing them in America until Highway to Hell came out in '79. That's when they really blew up here.

What you would love is him and Miss Tina Turner doing a duet for this song!! Two energetic, hard-hitting, raspy voices on this song was amazing. It was live. My mom, who would have been 100 this year, loved him and when he got with her on that song, she was so thrilled! Great combo, worth your time even if you don't review it.

Being an "oldie", I was fortunate to have lived in St. Louis and danced to Billy Peek before he became "BILLY PEEK" and got to see Chuck many times. Thanks for the memories.
When this song came out, I used to use a clock radio (remember those?) to wake me up in the morning, tuned to the local rock station. One morning, my alarm came on at the very end of the song and woke me up with Rod Stewart screaming the last "I LOVE YOU HONEYYYYY!!!!" My heart still hasn't stopped racing from that.
Some of my favorites are "Stay With Me," "I Know I'm Losing You," "Passion," "Infatuation," and "Some Guys Have All The Luck." The videos on the last two are a must!
"Hot Legs" by Rod Stewart is straight up rock and roll. Guitar, piano, style, vocals, lyrical content. A classic. You two were especially fun to watch reacting to this song. Thank you and I'm looking forward to more.
rod Stewart, Elton John and Freddie Mercury all spent time as backup singers for a band called long John baldry, we called them the nose, the eyes and the teeth

Guitarist was a guy named Billy Peek. He was southern rock guy from Mississippi that was in Rod’s band in the 70’s. That’s why you get the blues/rock vibe in this song. Rod was very diverse. From his early stuff with the Faces , to the southern rock feel of this song , to disco with “Do ya think I’m Sexy” , to a new wave sound in the 80’s with “Young Turks” plus plenty of ballads along the way. “Infatuation” is a banger with the great Jeff Beck on guitar...def check that one.
Da ya think im Sexy came out in 1978 THE year after Hot Legs Rod. S what at his best in the 70s HANDS DOWN Magie May, To nights the night more 70s Rod Stewart
Rod was a badass back in the day, Him, Jeff Beck and Ron Wood were blues rock pioneers! Check out Truth by Jeff Beck or The Small Faces. Rod Stewart rocked out with both of them.
I have loved Rod since the 70's he is the man His concerts are the best I have ever been to. I have seen him at least 30 times he kicks soccer balls up in the audience. He started with the Faces and went solo after that any song by Rod is so good!
The bass player is my cousin Phil Chen who unfortunately passed away in December. He played with a number of big acts, but his years with Rod Stewart are what he is most famous for.
Phil was a great bassist! He even played a gig with The New Barbarians - Ron Wood and Keith Richards band. He filled in at the last minute for Stanley Clarke. Liked his later work with Robbie Krieger too. RIP Phil Chen❤️
Oh my god you guys are so entertaining reacting to music and Amber is the most adorable thing I've ever seen. Her reaction to Hot Legs was the cutest thing ever. She was having fun and enjoyed the music and you can tell.
My second oldest daughter got the nickname "Hot Legs" in highschool. She's 5'10" and way more than half of that is her legs. She's still got great legs.
"Hot Legs" (released Feb 1978) was the 3rd of 4 singles from Rod Steward's 8th solo studio album, "Foot Loose And Fancy Free" (released 4 Nov 1977), reaching number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart (The other singles from the album are: "You're In My Heart", "You're Insane" & "I Was Only Joking". The guitarist in the video and on the song is Billy Peak from St. Louis, Missouri, who still plays around St. Louis regularly, and also played with St. Louisan Chuck Berry, who is actually the originator of the "duck walk" that Angus Young of AC/DC also does.
Took my girlfriend(who was a huge RS fan) to see Rod Stewart at the OC fairgrounds for her birthday in 1990. He put on one of the best, most energetic performances I have ever seen. He was great. I remember him signing soccer balls and kicking them out into the crowd. So much fun. You need to listen to his song "The Final Acclaim".
My daughter was an infant when this came out. My stepdaughter was 8, we'd play this album over and over and sung and danced to it. Glad you enjoyed it.

This is Rod Stewart with a Rolling Stones type of vibe. Another good one by Rod Stewart is You're in my Heart. And speaking of The Rolling Stones, Brown Sugar is the one that you want to check out.
I really love Rod Stewart's song "I Was Only Joking". For some reason this song is largely overlooked and I think it is beautiful and breaks away from his sexy/dirty image.
This was one of the very few songs I liked from him, after he went more.....commercial. Never liked much of the "Disco Rod" era, but this was one of his last rockers. Early Rod Stewart(early 70s) is so good. Mandolin Wind(1971) for starters.
You know you guysI will go to my grave listening to David Bowie in my head. The angelic tones where that man can take. His voice was just like nobody else. As far as I’m concerned. I never really appreciated him as a little boy in the 70s, but after his death, I really focused on his voice. Oh God, he was a genius, God bless him you know you
Great reaction! Thanks! Another side of Rod is "People Get Ready" with his old band mate Jeff Beck. Guitar work off the chart and Rod takes us to church. Thanks again!
Rod Stewart may be known for disco, thanks mainly to "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy", but he was quite a rocker, as well as a great love song singer. Check out: - Tonight's the Night - You're in My Heart - The First Cut is the Deepest - I Was Only Joking
The guitarist on hot legs by rod is my 1st cousin his name is Billy peek. He played for rod for about 6 or 7 years and before that he played with Chuck berry. Billy is from st. Louis
One of my faves - great convertible song to play loud. Your In My Heart, First Cut Is The Deepest, Tonight's The Night, Maggie May, I Was Only Joking, Young Turks are a must listen to.
Billy Peek is the guitar player on the tracks. He played awhile with Chuck Berry. In '79 I went to 3 nights at The Cow Palace of Rod and this very band. The lughts went out and out of the PA blared David Rose's "The stripper". About halfway through the curtains opened, the stage lights went up, and they broke into this song, Hot Legs. Ripped the joint up. I was up against the stage all 3 nights with my 35mm camera. So many great slides. Ah, the old days of great bands, no assigned seating (festival seating) and you could bring cameras.
Went to a Rod Stewart concert years ago (80's I guess) and it was a lot of fun. Raspy voice, spiky blond hair, charisma, rock star strut, (+lots of kicking soccer balls)...those things combine to make him attractive and sexy. Mostly, it's the voice
You guys just make me giggle. So happy you dug up this little treasure. As long as we're going down this path - can you pretty please do the official Legs video by ZZ Top. Amber - it's ALL about GIRL power. You guys will love it. And ZZ Top is just cool AF in general ;)
Ahh, back to Rod Stewart. Okay. You've done "Maggie May" and "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?". Oh, "Tonight's the Night". So where can you go next with him? Yes, "Forever Young" is an obvious front-runner. "Runaway Train" is pretty good, too. But my favorites? "Rhythm of My Heart" A soldier coming back from war to the woman he loves. "Broken Arrow" A lover's plea. Heartbreaking. "Have I Told You Lately?" The unplugged cover of Van Morrison's classic. But my favorite that Rod Stewart actually hates and doesn't perform in concert? "Love Touch" Oh! The steel drum intro. And yes, from a soundtrack to a slight favorite of mine, the 80s courtroom movie, "Legal Eagles" Hope that helps!
Rod Stewart was my first concert in 1977, I was 15. Awesome start to a lifetime of loving live music. I really feel for you both on all the great things you missed but love watching you experience all the different music. Keep enjoying yourselves!
Yes, that was definitely, Chuck Berry. I don't think that there were any people today, were doing this on stage in the 1950's. Great reaction, Jay and Amber.
More Rod Stewart: "Young Turks", "(I Know) I'm Losing You", "The First Cut Is The Deepest" (cover of a Cat Stevens hit), "You're Insane", "Every Picture Tells A Story", "I Was Only Joking", and "You're In My Heart (The Final Acclaim)" 🎧🎶🔥😎
Rod had a ton of fabulous music. This one was 1977. My personal fav is Forever Young, however, since he has grown older, he began doing old classic big band music & has done at least 4 albums of those old tunes. Of these songs, The way you look tonight is a great one to start down that path. Check out a whole other side of this talented guy.
Rod Stewart hit my ears in Jr. High with Maggie Mae, I have Loved him ever since. Ya can't go wrong, he stands alone. No one is like Rod Stewart. Ya hear that voice and you just KNOW!! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. Remember, You are Loved, You are Blessed and Ya make me Smile Everyday. Much Love from California Kat ❤
Check out really early Rod Stewart singing 'I Ain't Superstitious ' on the TRUTH album by Jeff Beck. He was just the boy singing and not well known at the time.
You've done four songs from Rod, all from the 70s. But his stardom spanned decades, so may I recommend that you do some songs from his 80s albums? You could do "Passion", "Tonight I'm Yours (Don't Hurt Me)", "Young Turks", "Baby Jane", "Infatuation", "Love Touch", "Downtown Train", or his cover of The Isley Brothers' "This Old Heart of Mine" (which featured Ronald Isley himself). Y'all need to do "Legs" by ZZ Top, too. :)
It's the cheeky boy look and that twinkle in his eyes that he still has to this day. Whilst he took his music very seriously and professionally he thought the whole rock and roll fame was fun. As below Stay With Me and on a more lyrically reflective, I Was Only Joking
As a few people said, "Forever Young" is definitely a must listen. I also recommend a VERY under-rated song of his called "My Heart Can't Tell You No". It's heart-wrenching and his voice sounds amazing in it. One more I have to recommend is "This Old Heart of Mine" in which he duets with Ron Isley of the Isley Brothers (who originally sang the song). It's SO good!!!
George Michael “I want your sex”. Was huge in the 80’s. A bit controversial but not dirty. Super fun song. Great beat. Amazing vocals. You will love it. C’C”C’C’C’C’Come on!!! 👍
Memories of hanging out every Friday night at a night club called "The Garage" in the early 80's. Every Friday was the "Hot Legs" contest and they played this song over and over and over again. I love Rod Stewart's voice. My favorite song was "Stay With Me" when was a singer in the band "Faces" in the early 70's.
Saw Rod in concert in Aberdeen Scotland at Patodrie football ground in 1995. It was called the concert in the round. He had musicians in a kind of glass dome and he sang in on top of it. Was a great show.

Thank you for speaking up about this because they seem to think anytime there's a guitar player doing this that they're stealing from Angus 😂

That duck walk is given props to Chuck Berry. He did it on Johnny b Goode and Angus Young grew up idolizing him and so did this guitarist also.

You're In My Heart And I Was Only Joking are two classic ballads that greatly demonstrate his vocal softer side.
You guys just make me giggle. So happy you dug up this little treasure. As long as we're going down this path - can you pretty please do the official Legs video by ZZ Top. Amber - it's ALL about GIRL power. You guys will love it. And ZZ Top is just cool AF in general ;)
I suggested that on the last ZZ Top song I think they would like it too🙋🏻♀️
@@jeanstrickland2445 I've suggested it a few times too. Just have to get Amber's attention among the hundreds of requests.
"Rhythm of My Heart"
A soldier coming back from war to the woman he loves.
"Broken Arrow"
A lover's plea. Heartbreaking.
"Have I Told You Lately?"
The unplugged cover of Van Morrison's classic.
But my favorite that Rod Stewart actually hates and doesn't perform in concert?
"Love Touch"
Oh! The steel drum intro. And yes, from a soundtrack to a slight favorite of mine, the 80s courtroom movie, "Legal Eagles"
Hope that helps!
"Rhythm of My Heart" by Rod Stewart! The official video chokes me up every single time! Gorgeous song. You'd love it! 💗💗💗💗
You should do some of his early work with Faces......Every Picture Tells a Story and Stay With Me!!!!
Rod Stewart was my first concert in 1977, I was 15. Awesome start to a lifetime of loving live music. I really feel for you both on all the great things you missed but love watching you experience all the different music. Keep enjoying yourselves!
Try Rod Stewart's Tonight's The Night
they did it. just do a search
"Forever Young" video and "Have I Told You Lately: MTV Unplugged" are my two favorites of his dozens of hits. Check them out!
Rod Stewart is a man who got better looking the older he got. But THAT voice!
Classic Rod Stewart. Stay With Me, one fav. Back when videos were the thing. Thanks for this memory.
George Michael “I want your sex”. Was huge in the 80’s. A bit controversial but not dirty. Super fun song. Great beat. Amazing vocals. You will love it. C’C”C’C’C’C’Come on!!! 👍
Rod the Mod is what we fans called him. He can rock it out. ✌🌻🌻
WOW !!!! INCREDIBLE !!!! ROD STEWART IS SIMPLY THE BEST !!!!!!
My all time favorite Rod song and in the very best R&R album, Footloose and Fancy Free, ever recorded (IMHO, of course)!
SIR Rod Stewart awesome 😎
