      He showed more effort into trying to make a set date/time in showing ACTUAL GENUINE interest!!..😮... I've been married to my elementary school crush since I was 16, n we just celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary however we've been together for 26yrs,.. n considering the fact that I've lived more of my life WITH him then WITHOUT... I can confidently say that I'd be lucky if my hubby remembered my bday, let alone being able to plan ahead for just "us" time!😮🤔😂 unfortunately I happen to fall in love with an extremely hyperactive,(child at ❤️) mentality with pretty disruptive OCD triggers/episodes, PLUS he hates going to the doctor so ive had to struggle hard with trying to keep up a strong relationship esp after all these years! Anyhoo, if I were the girl from the first story, I'd be forever embarrassed n ashamed of myself for acting out so immaturely n impulsive, yes who else can safely say the guy dodged a bullet, maybe it was the universe trying to warn him, ya know 🤷🏻‍♀️😫😵‍💫🤦🏻‍♀️🫨

    I find it so disturbing that bartender chick says she "doesnt want to make fun of someone on the spectrum", I'm autistic and I don't want fake niceness when you're dealing with me, if you're not gonna treat other people with basic respect then whats the point? This absolutely cannot be what people think we want 😂

      For people like her, unfortunately, it’s really not about what others want but about what she can acceptably get away with socially. It’s performative sensitivity, and it’s sadly very common.

    • @jeunese
      @jeunese 6 месяцев назад +30

      She only doesn't want to make fun of someone on the spectrum because it's not politically correct and she doesn't want to get hate. She's fine making fun of anyone else, and that would include autistic people (with the gross presumption she can tell just by looking at them) if she wasn't afraid of backlash. She just wants positive internet points. Most people have met people who are autistic and not even known. Hell, many autistic women don't know until they're diagnosed in adulthood (speaking from experience). Maybe just... don't make fun of people? Whether you think they're autistic or not.

    I have a couple close male friends. None of them live near me. I knew them before they got into relationships with their (now) wives. Never once did the gf/wife EVER feel the need to call me out for being close with her husband. One of my guy friends has always been like a brother to me. We give each other advice and provide perspective and feedback to each other on various topics. The other guy friend I was actually interested in at one point in time, but he never was. We remained friends, but when he started dating his wife, I pulled back on communicating with him a bit and ALWAYS made sure to include her in any communications I had with him because she knew our history and that I **used to** be into him, and I didn't ever want to give her the wrong impression of our relationship. It's called respect.

      My drink of choice is Crown Royal & Coke but I will alternate with a glass of water. I tip $1 per drink, including the rounds of water because I like my water with a wedge of lime - so it actually takes slightly more effort to add a lime wedge than to just add a stir straw. 😅 All of the waitresses knew to bring me a printout of the evening’s drinks on my tab at the end of the night so that I could accurately tip them $1 per drink, regardless of what the drink was. I used to be a cocktail waitress and I always take care of them. 💕

She said other ppl working there referred to her as water b*tch. And the point seemed to be this woman goes to leave with men, if another man notices it then that is what it is. i believe that if there is not a specific reason or concern, you can't just say to someone "stop talking to your best friend because they're my partner now". i was a mutual friend to a couple that later broke up, the guy was my best friend and his girlfriend said to him "you either chose me or her" and that really broke my heart. it's so unfair cutting off friendships for no reason. if you're in a relationship with someone, you have to trust them and respect the other friendships that they might had before you. it's only okay to start a conversation when you really believe that something is off, not everyone has bad intentions nor wants to get between you and your partner. 😊

    I’m actually with Michele on this.
    1. She was pointing out that the person does not appear to be on the spectrum so all you Internet diagnosticians shouldn’t jump to that.
    2. It’s not that she’s ordering something non-alcoholic. It’s that she every night takes up a seat at a business without spending any money (bars sell soft drinks, juice, coffee) or sitting with anybody else who’s spending money.
    3. It’s rude to not tip someone in a service establishment like a bar when provided a service. It’s the same service if serving water, a soft drink, or a whisky. She should tip on the water.
    4. The part about her going home with guys who are then never seen again is just gossip. Yeah it’s stupid and yeah there was an implication that she’s chopping them up in her basement but anybody with half a brain knows they’re not talking about regulars and they’re just not coming back. Could be she scared them off; could be (most likely) they just wouldn’t have been around anyway. It’s stupid gossip. If the previous points weren’t happening then this wouldn’t have even been talked about. It was an odd on to the other not great bar behaviour.

    I've gotta disagree about the 3rd (?) one. If a girl has been friends with your bf for years, I do not think it is ok for you to tell her to stop texting him so much. They have a pre-established relationship that you can either accept or not, but it's not cool to try to change someone's friends because you indeed do not trust something in your relationship. Now if you truly think someone is out of line and going too far, then you talk to your bf about it, and they make the changes they're willing to. If you fully trust your bf, none of this stuff will matter.

    Just want to let you know that gaslighting isn't actually something that people can do by accident.
    Gaslighting is when somebody goes on a purposeful, malicious campaign to make the other person doubt their reality.
    People who experience gaslighting usually have to go through years upon years of therapy. They have a really difficult time trusting their own senses as well as those around them.

    • @TheBaumcm
      @TheBaumcm 6 месяцев назад

      You can gaslight someone unintentionally though, meaning you are not doing it with the intent. People who surround narcs who haven’t seen their “dark side”will often say things like, “oh but she’s so sweet to me. Are you sure you aren’t misinterpreting?” Or “maybe they were just having a bad day?” For the average person, these would be perfectly acceptable comments but cause people who experience narcissistic abuse to question themselves and their boundaries.

    • @Zullala
      @Zullala 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@TheBaumcm you can't because the definition says one must be intentionally trying to make someone doubt their reality and the attempt must be made more than once (it's an ongoing campaign).
      Not trying to be rude, that's just how it is. If it's accidental then it's manipulation. It's not gaslighting.

    14:47 hear me out:
    I (f) once had a really good friend (f) and I introduced her to my male best friend (I’ve known him since we started going to school as kids). The two started dating. I wasn’t happy about that because both of them didn’t make time to see me, do stuff together whatsoever. But eventually I was fine with that. Than this girl started to dislike the fact that I had contact with him via text messages. She said I would flirt with him and shouldn’t text him that much. Remember he was MY best friend… they broke up some time later. The girlfriend shouldn't have to tell the female friend to chill out on texting her boyfriend. He should tell the friend himself. That's what a quality man does. Unless the girl in question was friends/family with the girlfriend first. If he's not comfortable seeing that boundary with a girl he's not into and willing to tell you about, he's not going to set that boundary with a girl he is attracted to and may be nervous to tell you about because of his own attraction and temptation.
    The girl in the video should've just agreed to text the guy less, if course. But the girlfriend should be wondering why SHE is telling the girl to chill out rather than knowing her boyfriend can set and enforce appropriate boundaries or utilize the block feature on his phone.

    Regarding the girl confronting her guy's friend...
    I'm female and, being a veteran, I have a lot of male friends. One of my friends started seeing a girl and she was uncomfortable with our friendship. My friend let me know, so I arranged to meet her. I suggested we go out for lunch, just us two girls, so should could get to know me. We did and, over the course of the afternoon (we got on, so it ended up being a long lunch! 😂), I found out 2 things:
    1) She was lovely;
    2) She was insecure because her ex had cheated on her with someone he told her was his friend.
    I could've told her it was her problem and not mine, but that would have been really disrespectful to my friend and would've shown no empathy to a girl taking time out to get to know me. So, instead, I suggested we find a solution until I'd earned her trust. We set up a group chat. Within a few months, she felt more secure, we all texted normally again, and I had earned a new friend.
    Cut to last year and I was very proud to be a bridesmaid at their wedding 😎
    Moral of the story: as a friend, it's your job to do right by your friend. If their new partner is psycho and tries to oush you out of the picture, tell them and stand firm. But if your friend really likes their new partner, find a solution (not for the partner, but because you value your friendship). And, you never know, you might end up with a new awesome friend, like I did 😊

He came back from college from the states with a girlfriend, which I was so excited for until I met her. We’re European, it’s super normal for a woman and a man to be platonic friends… my boyfriend has no issue with our relationship whatsoever and he also has a few female friends. This girl has had a issue with me even before I met her, she doesn’t want him texting me or calling me if she’s not there listening, she doesn’t want us to hang out, etc. This guy knows all my secrets and so I vent to him a lot, but I don’t want a random girl listening in! I’ve tried to befriend her several times and she’s so aloof. I’m not sure if it’s culture shock but I feel like Americans are very jealous in a relationship.

He hates coffee and tea and used to drink juice or sodas but cut those out because of the excessive sugar in them. Therefore, he only drinks water. When he was dating online, he felt stuck not being able to meet people in bars or coffee shops. He felt it would seem strange to girls online to meet up with a guy who isnt drinking at all. So I chose not to drink. I can’t tell you how many times people who claim to be my friends would bully and badger me into drinking when I told them no and it makes me sick and usually I end up in the hospital. People really need to learn what respect is. @Free420Love 2 месяца назад

      @@SaitoKat92if you’re bar isn’t full, you are NOT losing money. This is a very tired narrative.
      I worked in & ran multiple very popular, typically very busy bars & restaurants over the years, and VERY rarely did the water drinkers actually affect business.
      Unless they’re taking up a spot in a packed establishment, you aren’t actually affected. Period. You’re just mad someone isn’t racking up a bill. They’re not taking anything away from you, they aren’t preventing anyone who wants to come in from doing so.
      You’re choosing to be irritated by someone who isn’t doing anything to you. That’s a choice.
      The people that actually, REGULARLY, screw industry workers over are the ones that take up whole tables, buy ONE cheap drink, & nurse it for HOURS & HOURS as they sit there talking, completely aware & unconcerned that the place is packed and there’s a line out the door.
      THOSE people have the biggest impact on business & take home.
      The water drinkers, by far, are more often than not older people who are just lonely and want to still have some sort of social interaction, even if it’s just sitting and watching others socialize. EVERYTHING is expensive now, and these folks on fixed incomes just want to feel like they’re still a part of things. I have never, and will never, fault people for wanting & needing that. We are isolating these people from being able to have basic social interactions, and we see the impact with the increasing number of elderly folks suffering from severe depression.
      Start looking at them as people who probably really need that interaction, & how much it means to them for just a brief interaction with you, & stop looking at it as them taking something from you - especially when that’s just not the case the vast majority of the time.
      Also, if you politely bring it to their attention if you ARE packed & need their spot, and let them know there’s people patiently waiting for that spot, 9/10 they’ll move - and they often just are unaware, they’re not trying to cause issues.
      More than a few times, I’ve grabbed a chair or two from a back room & put it next to wherever I’m at, and let them sit there instead, so I can free up the needed space. It doesn’t hurt me to do this.
      As I said in my other comment posted in the main thread, some of the funniest & sweetest customer interactions I’ve had over the years has been with these exact people.
      Stop looking at these people & assuming they’re trying to pull one over on you. If you automatically assume someone is a problem, that’s all any of these individuals are ever going to be for you, even when they’re not.

    I worked in a pub for years and there would be the odd sober customer that would make our pub their regular. People go to pubs to offload all the time or meet up with their drinking buddies or whatever. I took that job very seriously esp my regulars they would feel very comfortable sitting at the bar chatting away knowing they could tell me anything and they wouldn’t be the talk of the town next day. And that’s why some pubs do a lot better than others it’s not because of the other customers it’s the staff.

    i work in a coffee shop, and sometimes we'll get people come in who maybe dont like coffee or tea, or maybe cant afford our prices (fair) and if they are with a friend, i'll always offer them some water, just so they dont feel left out and so they have a cup to drink from. just ordering water isn't a big deal.
    i'd only say it's a big deal if you are a complete ass to the staff, or if it's super busy and you're maybe taking up a table that a paying customer could be using. but if it's quiet, you do you.

    I had a roommate once that sat me down and asked me not to touch her boyfriend who was also a roommate because it made her uncomfortable. I had one time pulled a piece of food out of his hair that he was struggling to grab after I had pointed it out. She acknowledged that she realized it was her insecurities and it was something completely innocent but asked me to respect this boundary. So because I respect other people’s boundaries I never touched him again.

I would be very scared to date someone who told my friends and roommates that they couldn't.... touch me. That is severe personal issues of hers that she is throwing onto everyone else's plates and expecting them to uphold. I feel very sorry for your roommate, he is going to lose lots and lots of people and his life. It's not the they can't touch him thing, it's the dating a woman who would tell your friends and roommates that they can't touch you.

She needed to feel comfortable in our home and wasn’t like this with his female friends. They’re still together and very happy. If she wasn’t actively working on herself that would be a problem but she never isolated him.

      Definitely not always true. Worked for a company where employees had to sign NDAs because we manufactured products for mega corps and Dept of Defense (various militaries around the world). They don’t want you sharing the ins and outs of those products with others. Most company’s who require NDAs do so to try and protect their proprietary products/processes.
