The image at 6:41 is absolutely lovely my guy. As a street photographer myself, I really love how you've played with the light and the shadows. Also, brilliant video, keep it up!
Nice vid. Hate seeing 12 minute vids about street photography and only seeing 1 image 😑. Watching this makes me a little jealous. I’ve been on the wait list for months for the x100v and still no word when it’ll be available again. Great work 👍🏻 keep it up.
One great way to trial settings is to shoot some raw images and then use the free X Raw Studio software to “reprocess” them. Requires the camera to be plugged in to the computer as it actually uses the camera's processor to do the work, thereby being the same as if it had been taken that way. You can change nearly every setting, even exposure comp, with the exception of the dynamic range parameter. Output fresh JPEGs and then do a compare and contrast. Highly recommend if you want to try various things out but don’t want to keep changing the in camera settings.
Hey Mike last year I recently switched from canon to Fuji and rediscovered the joy of photography and with your photography I can see the change. You rediscovered at is fuji was a music genre out would definitely be soul / jazz. Bang on Mike another level 👍
Been here since danger dom days! Im an amateur photographer and these pov videos are awesome, the whole process of capturing an image in a pov format is brilliant and unique, keep it up mike!
I used a roll of Portra 160 in the summer and at the same time, shot the same scenes with a DSLR and 50mm lens. It opened up a world of new colours and tints to me. But as you say, it's not cheap. You've inspired me now to try it with film recipes and jpgs. Thanks always for your videos.
Hi Shaun, do you think the Portrait 160 etc is 35mm beginner friendly? s you say with the prices these days I don’t fancy buying some, even just one roll, if it’s too easy the cock up, The film and developing is a one way ticket to London for me 🤣
Hi Brian. Yes - it's fine for beginners. I bought it because that's the only colour film they had in the shop! However, given the ISO, it works best in good weather.
that building in 4:00 min mark you could bump up the shutter speed and make a silhouette . usually that's what I do when I have a very good lightings and i don't have exact subj
I’ve just ordered a Fujifilm after months of thinking about it and not pulling the trigger! I went for the XT30ii. Interchangeable lenses, cost and the simple fact it was in stock helped my decision, not forgetting it looks so nice too ! Looking forward to trying out these simulations and entering the world of Fujifilm recipes 👍
Great video Mike! I just did Beauty/Fashion photoshoot with the X100V using Classic Chrome myself. I was blown away by the results! The BTS is on my channel. Cheers to the new year!
Hi ! Awesome videos. I’ll be really interested in a video where you explain how you focus with the x100v, the workflow, if you use af-lock, and/or dot focus… this kind of thing !
Awesome video! I really appreciate that you walked us through your creative process while in the streets of London. As a beginner (like me), it‘s sometimes a bit frustrating to see awesome shots on Insta and not being able to come up with anything remotely close. Your video shows, that even experts like you need multiple tries and iterate until the shot is perfect.
Great video and photos! I use that Portra recipe on my X100V frequently. Along with the Tri-X 400 recipe. That’s basically my default for shooting B&W. You should definitely give it a look!
Lovely video as always mate 🔥 Gotta love those fuji recipes, this makes me wanna go out more and shoot some jpegs as well and five that porta recipe a go
Excellent interaction with the viewer nice to see a different vibe to your normal London POV I've always shot in jpeg as I use my mobile for everything. Did you use any presets on these images 🤔 Great vibe to the whole video ✌️
Great video Mike, would love another camera that I could just stick in my pocket or small bag without worrying about which lens to bring. I did have a Canon G7 X, the first edition from new which I won when it was first released, just for filling in a form online for the Independent Newspaper but that got ruined when I lost all my other gear a couple of years ago now and the insurance wasn’t enough after getting the XT3 to get another camera, still not completely sure about the Xt3 and wish I’d have got maybe a used EOS R or Nikon Z6 but such is life.
This is really cool. But i can't lie, i prefer the look with the digital camera. I feel there's more freedom in the type of shots you can take along side on the editing side. Great video as always.
2:47 - looks quite slow to save the image, is that the Clarity setting impacting processing times in the X100V? did you find this an issue when out photographing or is your style more deliberate and less focussed around taking continuous shots?
Yeah using any clarity in the camera slows it down. I hope there is possibly a firmware update to solve this. But I don't find it a problem. My style is definitely more deliberate.
The thing is with film sims, they look good color wise (sometimes) but they look entirely different to film, its a gimmick really tbh because the highlight roll off clarity and roughness of film literally can not be replicated at all with a film sim. I shoot both film and digital, there 2 different formats, and you cant make one look like the other without it being obvious in my eye that its replication. That being said, it's easier to grade video to look like 16mm or 35mm motion picture as moving image is way easier to make look like film. If you want to make your image look some what like film, clarity needs dropping big time and roughness of grain in LR/PS punched up big time. Then you can get I guess closer.
Nice shots all around, especially the latter half of the video when the sun was really hitting right. Do you think single point is the way to go or would you say single point for fishing shots and wide for run and gun?
Thank you! It's hard to tell because everyone shoots differently. I find single point perfect for fishing your shots though, as I did in this video. Thanks for watching!
How about you do us the same pov but with a black and white vibe Do you think you can find a Kodak Tri-X 400 recipe It will be nice if you can do it Thank You so much
Love ur videos. Am just wondering what metering mode u used when shooting at the alley to capture the lights n shadows? (those shots taken at 6:45 mark)
I shoot both jpegs and raw yeah! You can of course decide what you want. I made a full video recently about my setup and how I use it! Thanks for watching
It’s a film stock. Possibly the most popular 35mm film today. The colours are very popular and skin tones always look clean. But obviously not everybody wants to shoot film so you can recreate the style with film simulations in Fuji cameras
@@MikeChudley bummer! What happened? As a Brit, in the US, who normally gets this style of educational content from Mr Greer… it would have been nice to do a street course with a familiar accent 😂
Great video Mike. I do love how photography brings people closer together and some folks are really encouraging. But there some complete and utter fuck heads who just want yo put you down. As an amateur photographer of only a few months I can see how this could put people off
For my taste this Portra simulation is too much muddy green. Don't misunderstand me, your photos are great, just colours are not to my taste. Personally, if I'm not using some of Fuji's own simulations, I'll go for the Ilford HP5...
@@marcelostormrage The short answer is unfortunately, "no, not really", due to a lack of similar customisation options from most other camera brands. Possibly the closest are Nikon's Picture Control Profiles. The longer answer involves discussion about said camera options, sensors and to some extent Fujifilm's advantage having decades of experience making film (the team that used to do that are now responsible for their in camera film simulations apparently), but RUclips's comments really aren’t suited to that kind of discussion unfortunately. You can sometimes get close using presets for either Lightroom or Capture One. Though if people are selling them they have to be careful about using trademarked names like Kodachrome and Portra, for example, so finding good one can be very hit and miss.
7:01 this is truly a masterpiece, I can't explain enough how lovely this is!

Wow, thank you!

Thank you David - that's exactly it! Appreciate the kind words.
Never used RAW files . On my x100f,

Loving the video and the Fuji
I’ve been trying to shoot images that look like film for over a decade. This is a great option, but I would highly recommend using a diffusion filter.
love it

Hi
Love your channel and photography skills. What is the link for the ultimate photography guide?????
Hi, really awesome shots. Need to visit London for sure! Which focus are you using here?
Loving this. Did you play around much with the Compensation dial? or was it on the fly for each location/shot?
Thanks! On the fly definitely
It’s for all Fuji camera’s
How about you do us the same pov but with a black and white vibe
Do you think you can find a Kodak Tri-X 400 recipe
It will be nice if you can do it
Thank You so much
Great idea man I’d love to!
Awesome video bud, really wanna get into fuji, whats ur opinion on the xt5?
Great video and shots Mike. Any particular reason why you decided to narrate after the fact rather then talking during ?
I just got my x100v this week and I think I'll never take my canon R5 out in the street anymore.
haha yep, feels like that.

What happens to the original film simulation. When you change it. Will you have both??
Cool video. Thanks for sharing. What camera is used for the POV shots? Missed that part.
GoPro Hero 10!

which camera is better, fujifilm xpro3 or fujifilm x100v?
If you love getting a vibe and creating an atmosphere in your photos, you gotta try shooting film brother!

nice. abo.
Way better than the R6 Lol
They are out of stock of x100v :(
what camera to buy up to $ 1000 after canon 600d
are these images straight off the camera or you edited them?
Straight from the camera!
2 guys driving on a moped will whizz past you and snatch that camera right out your hand. id use a wrist strap at least. greats shots though
The course not available anymore?
Nope, afraid not!
