"If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary." Great work, Joey! Great content with newer versions of these consoles, not many of them being torn down on RUclips so kudos for the attempt on camera :)
I was left wondering the whole episode why the original owner didn't use the warranty. I know why Joey didn't because he is a lunatic but the original owner puzzles me.
I think the cap is right there, look at the other empty spaces, they look exactly the same as the one below you mentioned, but not the spot where joey put the cap, that was flat as if there was something before
I see what you mean, but it's the same cap from 04:50 but the board is the opposite way around. You can see at 04:50 that the pads are indeed factory and have never had a component on them, whilst at this time stamp look at the pads to the top right and they are the same 😊😊
while this is true they can deny a warranty request if the sticker is void if they can articulate that you damaged something causing the defect. If the sticker is in tact they cannot try that
I'll post the same comment that I put to another one that spotted the same thing 😊😊 I see what you mean, but it's the same cap from 04:50 but the board is the opposite way around. 9:10 probably doesn't matter now but if you pause right at this timestamp, the pad directly below where you solder that cap back on looks like it where it was supposed to go to me? Just judging by what had solder on it and what didn't. Not sure if it even matters.
you should add yellow to the end chart, for when you can come back to some thing. so you can kind of say the streak is still going. I would say this one was fully a loss
Warranty stickers do not mean anything. You are allowed to open the console to clean it. If you start removing chips that is ofc not okay. I don't know how it's in the UK but it should be the same as in the EU.
@@Mrsina77 In the EU removing a warranty sticker does not void the warranty of a product. The European Commission for Consumer Rights states that warranties are tied to the conformity of the goods - which means not for conditions like warranty stickers (you can remove them).
Yes, it does. But if you gaslight your customers that don't know the law, they are less likely to fix things and will just buy a new one. Warranty stickers are meaningless in the US. Look up the magnuson moss warranty act. It's astounding that people these days still think corporations would never do anything shady.
Hey Joey love your content, I have a couple Xbox ones that don't work, I actually bought them off eBay inspired by your videos but I just don't have the time for them, I'd be happy for you to have them for free if you'd like Todo a video on them? I've not done anything with them literally got them delivered a few months ago and just not got around to even having a look at them, not even tried to power them up so you may get lucky haha I don't even have power leads for them hence not even tried to power them up.

But it’s not really a loss though as you can sell it as spares ( like you said in the video ) or you’ll keep it to fix another one. It’s a win win. Not a loss ….
maybe i'm completely off base here and have no idea what im talking about but why did you not inject voltage and looked for a hotspot with a thermal camera? would that not have most likely told you which component/chip is faulty? also regarding the chips you were trying to salvage off those boards the 070 you probably have to get a donor board for but the 069 i was able to find online for pretty cheap... I've never personally fixed a ps5 but just curious, love the channel. actually after reflecting on it I guess the reason you don't buy just 1 chip is because you constantly need spare components so buying the donor boards ends up being cheaper, if that's the case it makes perfect sense. I suppose that is the main reason you got this ps5 slim anyway.
only a few hundredths of an amp are going through the board which is not enough to create heat. putting enough current through to create heat at problem points will likely cause many other problems.
@@spookyweeb5563 yeah I asked him this during a livestream and he explained that he couldn't find any shorts and that he didn't know where to inject voltage into. When we had physical Microsoft stores it was very easy to buy broken consoles and get them replaced in person at the Microsoft store.
What people do for content.. I would have sent it in for the warranty.
