I didn't like his audition. He has won me (and I believe the judges) over. You can't give someone a voice, but you can teach them how to use it and i believe the coaches on this show have taken what he has and improved it A LOT!
I have to disagree with you. Their complaint (except Luke) was his facial expressions. His singing was always good and they did not critique that. On his audition he sang an original and it was fantastic. Sadly Katy just went straight to his face and pulled Lionel along with her. Good though that Katy is now listening and noticing all the subtle flavor he has with vocal choices. He came with this already.
All his stuff sounds exactly the same, no range , no versatility. Yelling. And making faces doesn't improve your singing. He doesn't speak that way. Boring and annoying.
