- A very , very, very, very, VERY late delivery for Vlogmas Day 20, a Q & A that took way too long to film and twice as long to edit. I was rambling on and on, so much so that I would get so far away from the original question asked that I had to edit a lot out but hopeful some of this made some sense. I love talking about managing an antique booth and these were some great questions to answer.
Thank you again for watching Vlogmas 2023!

Hi, Amanda. I absolutely love viewing your booth during your filming. I was the one that bought two of your silver dollar imitation dried plants. My dad used to grow them in his garden. I met Eric. We both think you hung the moon. I even told the cashier at the front of the mall that you are putting this antique mall on the map. The staff at the front are very proud of you.
When you say you love your booth and your displays...it absolutely shows. 100%. I love seeing the booth. Every single time. You make everything look so amazing.
Watching you wave those salad tongs around is pretty amusing. ;)
I was having vlog -mas withdrawals. I was so excited to see your video pop up.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Cute tongs!🤣
Why are you holding tongs 😂😂😂
I wondered the same thing 😂
🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀😄
I was wondering what she had until Mike started playing with them.
I'm with Mike! Watching you be able to design your Luckett's setups and inside your booth always blows my mind. I wish I had that spacial awareness talent to be able to picture it!
You ought to consider stocking your booth for Christmas much earlier. I used to do my Christmas reset in November, too. But the best Christmas sales total I ever had was when I was going to be away Nov/Dec so I had to stock for Christmas in October. My total sales for those two months (Oct 21-Dec 21) was $3800 - all smalls, no furniture, most items under $25. (We even had a few customers who told us they'd already finished their Christmas shopping in August!😮)
you’re awesome and so talented amanda! i’ve flown from seattle to virginia twice in the last year to visit family and your antique mall booth !! 😊yes! i call it your antique mall! don’t stress you are very talented and have a great eye!! good luck in the new year 🎉
You are an amazing stylist, Amanda!! You definitely have an eye for antiques, and I look forward to your videos. You are poised, so so pretty and seem to have such a wonderful attitude and disposition. I live about an hour and a half from Round Top, TX, and I really think you and Mike should visit and bring/rent a trailer. All of the indoor items are pricey, but there are so many different booths set up around the town that are more reasonably priced. Just know that it may be hot and humid so dress accordingly. I think you would also love Canton Market Days which occurs every month (I think it's the first weekend) in Canton, TX, a small town not far from Dallas.
I always look forward to your videos, Amanda. You're definitely one of my favorites in the antiquing/decorating realm. A highlight is seeing you plan and put together your booth. I'm a fan. Plus, your delivery style is a pleasure. You're just yourself. I wish more youtubers in thrifting/decorating/antiquing would try that.
Take the leap! Do what brings you the most joy in life 😊
Thanks for your inspirational videos and hard work.
Hi Amanda! I really appreciate your content. Round Top is great fun but not necessarily reseller friendly. The prices have really crept up as popularity rises. Most of the well-known stops like Marburger, Blue Hills, Big Red Barn are priced and curated for designers or anyone shopping for themselves. Generally, you'll find more of a flea market vibe the further south you go toward Warrenton. It's still great fun to see everything and get inspired!
Thank you for the tip! ✍🏼 and for watching!
Great video, as always. As a vendor for 28 years, I totally agree with literally everything except taking Christmas items to the mall. This year, I decided to do Christmas in July to only sell vintage ornaments. My original plan was to remove them at the end of the month. I sold so many ornaments that it would have been crazy not to leave them there. Always looking forward to your next video!
Amanda, I think I can safely say that we watch you because you have good taste, you’re personality is infectious, your sense of humor is amazing, we love thrifting and antiques, you and Mike are so cute together, and let’s just be real….you’re adorable! Love your videos. Hope you have the best year yet.
So many questions answered! You are the best! Always enjoy your content. Keep them coming!
Best supporting role goes to Mr. Tongs 😂 Happy New Year! Looking forward to the Fall Luckets content. Also, if you didn't know, The Junk Parlor mentioned you in her recent thrifting video!
Amanda! We’ve missed you ! Hope you , Mike and the fam had wonderful holidays!!! ✨💖
I totally agree with your stance on waiting a bit to decorate with more permanent options in your home. I think you need to live in the space awhile to see how it functions best for you
THANK YOU for being so Candid, LOVE everything you do!
I just came across you channel and i absolutely love your visions, your booth, your energy. I have a small booth in an antique mall in our tiny town. I’m only 5 months in and it’s been a tough go of it. I primarily make most of my Garden Art with up cycled “junk” . I really enjoy the display end of setting up the booth. Thank you got the inspiration. Have a great day.
After all the Vlogmas videos then a 2 week vacation you had away from us😆 I was SO excited to see another episode‼️ Just LOVE You🥳
You are one of my favorite you tube person that I enjoy watching daily. You your hubby work so hard and do such a great job together too. I love what you sell etc.
I watch every video of yours from start to finish!!! I have learned so much from you! I have a small booth in a very rural area. I loved your table setup at the front of the store during vlogmas! I found a table and placed it in the middle of my booth. Staged a few items that have been in my booth for a while and sold them immediately. I’m not good at staging but can learn from others! Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge and Mike with us! Lol I look forward to all your new content!!
A lot of people, my family included, like to have their homes decorated for Christmas for when the family comes for Thanksgiving. So I agree, Christmas stuff in the booth before Thanksgiving.
You are incredible at doing your booth resets, etc. I always look forward to your vlogs on you tube, and looking forward to what you have planned in 2024!!!
Yeah!!! I'm so happy you're back it's good to see you, and thank you for reading and responding to my question. Great job on all you do..
I have a booth, and I tried shipping a bit, but it wasn't enjoyable at all for me. I really enjoy the artistic part of owning a booth, and of course, you don't get that with shipping. To me though, the worst part was just having to store the boxes and the bubble wrap and the paper and everything at my house. I've always got new piles of vintage waiting to be washed and priced so adding all of the boxes and packing supplies was just too much.
That was so fun!!! I have been following you for a long time... I still remember watching your project videos and thinking you had cool ideas.
Great Talk Amanda!!! I always enjoy your videos!!! ❤
Awesome informative video. In the upper northeast the booth rent for half your space is 300 or 400 a month and the commission is 40% to 50%. I don’t know how people do it.
So glad to see you back. I have looked for a new video every day!!!!! I enjoy you and your content very much.
Love the comfort tongs! What did the kitty get for Christmas 🎄 🐈⬛
I was wondering 💭 that too re: Mr Fisher's Santa gift. 🎁
I just found you and you’re awesome. I love your positive attitude 💜. I’m in a tough season in life and watching your videos is a great way to just tune out!
Love, your booth, your style and just how down to earth and real you are! Keep the content coming, you are doing a great job!
Happy New Year Amanda. I just discovered your channel maybe 2 months ago and have loved all your videos, so happy your back and can’t wait to see what your going to get up to next. It never fails to amaze me how you can create such beautiful displays out of so many different items, I have so much trouble picking out a paint colour. Thanks for all your hard work you put into your videos, love from Sidney, B.C.
Thanks for sharing, Amanda!
Amanda I just love watching your videos!!! You are so down to earth and personable relatable and funny!! I love your passion for what you do and really can’t wait to see more videos! I also love your relationship with Mike he’s such a great guy!! So thanks! ❤❤
Super fantastic Amanda!
Looking forward to more videos. I really love watching you shop antique stores!
lol love the question about your home! Be you!
Ugh I’ve missed your vlogs so I was so happy to see this video!! But why are you waving your tongs around?!?!?!😮😂
Your booth set ups inspire me to do better it’s a constant battle not too overcrowd my booth, thanks for the inspiration
Round Top is so fun!!
Hi Amanda. I totally support you filming career. Your videos are very well done and interesting. I can wait for new ones. I'm hoping you will be practicing, practicing and practicing this year and all we, your followers can enjoy watching them. At least two weekly pls!!!! 🙏🙏🙏huge fan Anna London
I love going junk in when we go on vacation or my boyfriend goes to car shows. We just got back from Louisiana. Interesting to see they did not have much crocks or brass. They had more glass ware items. Interesting to see what each state has more of.
Amanda, You might want to consider doing Christmas at the beginning of November. Many people put up their tree the weekend after Thanksgiving and are shopping for their decor before that. 😊
Absolutely. I have a booth and sell boatloads of Christmas all November. It is just trickles of Christmas in December and more high dollar items then. Ie… wife sees a buffet or mirror and husband or adult kids pick it up. Amanda, I really encourage you to get it out sooner. Most people with $$ plan way ahead as to how to decorate their homes for holiday parties, family, etc. Can’t wait to visit your booth next time we head to the mountains!
Great videos!!! I think the bat in the pocket was the ickesit! lol
Brimfield MA...a great huge market 3X's a year...look it up...
With all your talents, I believe you would be very successful reselling full time. But I also agree you have to be ready for that.😊
Loved this Q and A. So many helpful hints for us booth owners. BTW, I am Team Tongs!!
I totally support you I don’t like a booth with to much it’s really overwhelming , love your channel keep you tubing
🇨🇦
My Grandfather was a “dead baby” photographer in his neighborhood- he was one of the only people with a camera. And I don’t know why but we still have some of those unidentified babies.
How sad😢
Please do a Meet Up when you come to Round Top…
And bring the Honey porcelain sign and I’ll buy it!!! It would definitely sell in Texas!!!
Also, you need to source back and forth from GA
Love these types of videos! As a new booth owner, I always learn something important. I did want to ask, how do you track your inventory? My shop uses an app, so I can see immediately what has sold on any given day, but I'm wondering about keeping up with the value of what I've picked, what has sold, what hasn't sold, what I decide to let go when it has sat too long, etc. I'm currently using paper and pen notebook method, but OMG it is almost too much to track and my booth is only a 6x6!!!! Any tips on tracking inventory would be great (or just link a video if you've already answered and I missed it!) Yours is my FAVORITE YT channel ever!!!
I think sourcing from Brimfield would fit your style, market and pricing much better than Roundtop, which is crazy expensive and seems to have more and more imported mass produced items.
Heeyyyyy… I’m fist!!
Great video… I’ve missed watching your videos… thanks for the insight… awesome video… thank you!🙏🏻
There's nothing like a live auction. I don't know what it's like in your area, but here in Kansas it's an essential part of the social fabric. For whatever reason, I have horrendous luck with leather items in storage so it's something I avoid completely. Land prices are delusional here (as they are everywhere). I think the amount of realtors here is becoming oversaturated and the slices of the pie are smaller for everyone. Our Goodwills put literally EVERY vintage item in the dumpster. Every. Single. One. 💀
You should do Round Top, just to experience it. My brother lives in Texas and shops RT all the time, he would enjoy being your guide. Of course I would have to tag along! Also when your in GA you should go to Madison lots of good antique malls!
Omg do roundtop! I watch a few different youtubers that mention buying at roundtop often. I wanna see it!
I had a storefront and booths in different states.. I love having a store but booth is so much easier...!
Thanks for sharing. Power tongs!❤😂
November is our biggest sales of the year and it is nearly all Christmas decorations...NH
I have been doing booths for 12 years, with peace and love, there’s a reason why retail stores put seasonal things out so early. Personally, I do November 1st. But you do what makes sense for you. 🩷
Love seeing you and have been on the lookout for a video from you. I hope you had a great holiday season! Looking forward to what you bring us this year. Btw, I find it really amusing that you spent the entire Q and A with that big tongs in your hand. Too funny!
Thank You Great Q&A Ànd Did the Kitty Get Xmas Present Too 😂 You Guys Are So Cool
having said that, who am I to fault you. You are awesome!!!
Online options are tricky. There isn’t much that they aren’t bidding against you on, only crap they wanna get rid of. It is rare to get anything good cheap because of that. They are definitely bidding against you.
😬 it is shocking how much it’s gone up. But someone wins and those items disappear 🤷🏻♀️ maybe a little bit of both? More access to a wider audience + a little finagling at some dishonest companies? I could see that happening.
Everyone says Brimfield should be on the bucket list. Come on down to the Liberty Antique show in NC. They do a spring and fall show too. Picking is harder than it looks. Little family auctions can be good or when other dealers get older and stop dealing. Hope to see you in Liberty.❤️
Brimfield is overwhelming , and the portapotties, I just can't do!😮
Hi I’ve binge watched your videos from the begging this week and I love you and your sense of humour. I need to say I also watch Laura Caldwell and I can see you going down her selling and sourcing route, I also follow ginger chick rehab but I can see you and your fella going down the route of a random couple I watch called Garden Answer. Good luck with this year as it’s already February , where does the time go. Joyce (from England)
Hey Amanda. I love your videos, I love your booth, I love your design style, I love you-if you are very close to being able to leave your day job, it might be time to take a leap of faith! You could design a website to sell on, and do all the things you love to do full time. You have a very faithful following. I also think your income would be more consistent than selling homes and waiting on those commissions. I believe 2024 could be the year
for your leap! You can do it, girl!! ~Cathy
Not done yet with video. Must comment prematurely. Love the assistance of the tongs 😅
My house isn't decorated either. I don't think the average person understands what is involved in self employment. There just isn't time. You did help motivate me to get a handle on the Doom Pile... mine is 36x50 with a concrete floor & roof 😅 We cleared the first corner yesterday, to become an actual work space this winter.
LOL, I personally have never noticed your decor or lack thereof it or critiqued your home. It’s your home why is anyone judging it?! Those questions just make me scratch my head and roll my eyes! Really enjoy your videos! Thank you for sharing your life and business with us! 🙏👍🤝🫶
Where is the Lucketts market? Road trip!!
You should also go to Canton, Texas! It's HUGE! EAST of Dallas!
❤
I no longer purchase from on line auctions...nothing was as good as the picture...in-house auctions are few and far between here in NH...
Great video, have you ever been to Brimfield? I hope to do that one day
So no online... how about merch???
How about a video how you clean your antiques. I value that that clean yours. I recently googled how to clean brass with flour ginger and salt. Learned test your items with a magnet. amazed how they cleaned up and what was not brass. So do a barn find and show us how you clean them before and after.
PS magnet does not stick to brass.
🎉🎉🎉❤
It would be fun to see the actual editing process for those of us that aren’t in the business. Sounds interesting behind the scenes style. What is Mike’s job and Tory’s job?
TFS
Omg..skulls creep me out..and the death photos..so sad, yet the one thing people could afford 😢..
Mt. dora❤ spend a pretty penny there😊
Sorry the tongs were driving me crazy, I wanted to grab them from you so bad :). Thanks for the Q&A
😂
Just started watching you I’m maker ( laser engraved and Cut). We are building a shop. I will have space for a store front . Will be adding vintage items to my items. Would love to add vintage clothes would like to know what you and Tori look for when you’re shopping for clothes. Thank you for your help.
Thank you!! 😊 so much great info ℹ️... now I apparently missed where we could submit questions...but you may have taken them from comments. (?) Anyway my question 🙋🏼♀️ today is I'm going to need your "talking tongs"... or was it "speaking tongs"...? Where did we get those?
Ok two questions, rather: will you PLEASE promise me that you will utilize a disposable drop cloth when you do paint in your home?
😅 (think back you know I've said that before).
O and tell Mike I understood Mr Krabbs re: SpongeBob. My 27 year old daughter still watches that silly show "on the quiet".
Drive to Round Top because of all the towns down there that set up their own sales. You'd kick yourself going that far and not taking advantage of great buys.
I think your subscription count would go through the roof if you traded your tongs for a light Sabre :)
Can you go over trends for 2024?
So does that mean you were already dating when he was just your "electrician? " 😮❤😅
Round top is expensive….really expensive, just an fyi
Sorry if I bugged you about buying stuff in your booth.
Loved the video as someone interested in getting a booth for the 1st time. Agreed, items should be clean & dust free...I will not shop a dirty/dusty booth.
Those thongs Ha Ha are you going to do something with those.Happy Newyear to you both.
Fly to Texas and bring Uhaul home to texas.
This was interesting. As a new subscriber who has watched about a dozen of your videos I must say you don't make it easy for new people to understand what's going on, you seem to only be talking to people who followed you from day one. For instance you talk about a Tori but never once mentioned who she is and if you have the booth with her.
As a shopper I want to be done Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving. As a reseller I’d say comments are right and Nov. 1st it should be out. 🤷🏻♀️
Have you ever thought about the amount of time spent per video, against the money they bring in overall? Do you think it's less than $10/hr? In that case it may be better to put your time in a shipping/fulfillment setup instead.
You so funny holding the tongs like a microphone or wand! LOL When are you two gonna get married?????
Wasn't sure if they were tongs
