  • I did it again, I got yet another portable air conditioner. This time it's an LG DUAL inverter, and I'm quite interested to see how it fares compared to the Midea Duo.
as with all of my "first run" videos, this is not a review. However, That doesn't mean I'm not able to answer questions. If you have any questions about the unit feel free to ask in the comments, and I'll answer them to the best of my ability. I can also post further videos about the unit by request, Just tell me what you want to see!
welcome to after hours, basically my way of saying "I had a thing to upload so here it is." No washing machine content or comment content is coming anytime soon, but I'll still upload things when I have them, for example this.

I honestly think that along with laundry units and cooking units AC is another thing they’re good at. Wish I could say the same about their dreadful fridges and dishwashers

Even if you don't plan on washer videos anytime soon, I'm glad to see your channel is active and that your making videos again!😁

Honestly, The only reason I put this video up is because I know this unit isn't well documented, so I want to provide a space to answer questions.

Hey there good luck on the new unit. They run very smoothly right after initial start up. 👍🏻

The first run was definitely a little rough but every startup since has been buttery smooth, with the exception of the expansion valve which seems to make more noise than any other part of this thing lol
So far, I must say I prefer the Midea Duo by a pretty good margin. However, this unit is still better than just about all other portables.

@@Smurdle450 totally agree with your statement. If I had a choice between the two I would get the media one it’s a little more fully featured. Plus it’s actually more efficient 14,000 BTUs giving you 12,000 BTUs this one is 14,000 BTUs giving you 10,000 BTUs.

Do you test these for power draw in watts, vs effective cooling? I think these generally run at 3 or 4 coefficient of performance , at max load, but when the inverters control the compressors and run them at half speed or a third speed, the cop goes up to 6 to 8 but with lower cooling capacity. It means more efficient, but overall less cooling, I would like one because of solar limitations. It doesnt allow for grossly inefficent appliances.
It could work if the cop was higher like at least 6 or 7.
What is your take on the different cooling methods/tradeoffs?

Gee. I wonder which is more durable between the two.

Who makes the compressor on this unit? Is it GMCC?

      It's an LG-made twin rotary.

Lg I’m pretty sure only use compressors made by them. Kinda like Panasonic also
