Great video.. Thank you.. I have a question. Do you happen to have a follow-up video where you are able to edit the image that has been selected?
    Thank you

I love Affinity Photo and the fact that I paid $65 three years ago and it does everything that PS does for the most part without the subscription. I'm curious to know if you've used Luminar Neo. I like their AI software and use it to process the RAW shots and the enhance AI. Then I import into my tried and true Affinity for the finishing touches. Love your videos Robin - you rock!

I'm glad you liked the video and I agree that it would be nice to see some AI tools in Affinity Photo. But don't make the mistake of assuming Photoshop AI will deal with everything automatically. It made a complete mess of this image when I tried it.

Are you dragging to draw along the edge? If you are, that causes the tool on the iPad to switch into the freehand mode. The way to use it in magnetic mode is to tap on the starting point and then tap again on the end of the edge you want to draw along. The tool then attempts to draw a line and adds the magnetic points along the line. Also don't try to draw too long a line in one go because longer edges are more difficult for it to detect.

@@RobinWhalley Thanks for the clarification, Robin :) . I guess it’s just my expectation that it should work with the Apple Pencil the same way as with a mouse, snapping along the way while dragging. I really hope there will be an update to add that functionality-allowing it to snap while dragging, just like in Photoshop. By the way, thanks for your videos; they help people all over the world!

Hopefully Affinity will get some AI features soon. In Photoshop it‘s only one click to select the subject perfectly.

I agree but as I mentioned in another comment, don't think Photoshop will do a great selection in all cases. It dodn't do well with this photo.
